Apocalisse 13

BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Poi vidi salir dal mare una bestia che aveva sette teste e dieci corna, e sulle corna dieci diademi, e sulle teste nomi di bestemmia.	1 Then I saw a beast emerge from the sea: it had seven heads and ten horns, with a coronet on each ofits ten horns, and its heads were marked with blasphemous titles.
2 E la bestia da me veduta pareva un leopardo, aveva i piedi come quelli dell'orso, e la bocca come quella del leone.	2 I saw that the beast was like a leopard, with paws like a bear and a mouth like a lion; the dragon hadhanded over to it his own power and his throne and his immense authority.
3 E il dragone le diede la sua forza e grande potere. E vidi una delle sue teste come piagata a morte, ma la sua piaga mortale fu guarita. E tutta la terra seguiva maravigliata la bestia.	3 I saw that one of its heads seemed to have had a fatal wound but that this deadly injury had healedand the whole world had marvel ed and fol owed the beast.
4 E si misero ad adorare il dragone che aveva dato il potere alla bestia, e adorarono la bestia, dicendo: Chi è simile alla bestia? E chi potrà combattere con lei?	4 They prostrated themselves in front of the dragon because he had given the beast his authority; andthey prostrated themselves in front of the beast, saying, 'Who can compare with the beast? Who can fightagainst it?'
5 E le fu data una bocca che proferiva cose grandi e bestemmie; e le fu data facoltà di agire per quarantadue mesi.	5 The beast was allowed to mouth its boasts and blasphemies and to be active for forty-two months;
6 Ed aperse la bocca in bestemmie contro Dio, contro il nome di lui, contro il suo tabernacolo e contro quelli che abitano il cielo.	6 and it mouthed its blasphemies against God, against his name, his heavenly Tent and al those whoare sheltered there.
7 E le fu permesso di far guerra ai santi e di vincerli; e le fu dato potere sopra ogni tribù e popolo e lingua e nazione.	7 It was allowed to make war against the saints and conquer them, and given power over every race,people, language and nation;
8 E tutti gli abitanti della terra, i nomi dei quali non sono scritti nel libro di vita dell'Agnello che è stato immolato fin dal principio del mondo, adoraron la bestia.	8 and al people of the world wil worship it, that is, everybody whose name has not been written downsince the foundation of the world in the sacrificial Lamb's book of life.
9 Chi ha orecchi, intenda.	9 Let anyone who can hear, listen:
10 Chi mena in schiavitù sarà fatto schiavo, chi uccide colla spada bisogna che perisca di spada. Qui sta la pazienza e la fede dei santi.	10 Those for captivity to captivity; those for death by the sword to death by the sword. This is why thesaints must have perseverance and faith.
11 Poi vidi un'altra bestia che saliva dalla terra, con due corna simili a quelle dell'Agnello, ma parlava come il dragone.	11 Then I saw a second beast, emerging from the ground; it had two horns like a lamb, but made anoise like a dragon.
12 Essa esercitava tutto quanto il potere della prima bestia, in presenza di lei, e fece che la terra e i suoi abitanti adorassero la prima bestia, la cui piaga mortale era stata guarita.	12 This second beast exercised al the power of the first beast, on its behalf making the world and al itspeople worship the first beast, whose deadly injury had healed.
13 E fece prodigi grandi, fino a far discendere dal cielo in terra il fuoco in presenza degli uomini.	13 And it worked great miracles, even to calling down fire from heaven onto the earth while peoplewatched.
14 E sedusse gli abitatori della terra coi prodigi che le fu dato di operare davanti alla bestia, persuadendo gli abitanti della terra a far l'imagine della bestia che fu piagata di spada e si riebbe.	14 Through the miracles which it was al owed to do on behalf of the first beast, it was able to lead astraythe people of the world and persuade them to put up a statue in honour of the beast that had been wounded bythe sword and stil lived.
15 E le fu dato d'animare l'imagine della bestia da farla anche parlare, e di far mettere a morte tutti quelli che non avessero adorato l'imagine della bestia.	15 It was al owed to breathe life into this statue, so that the statue of the beast was able to speak, and tohave anyone who refused to worship the statue of the beast put to death.
16 E farà che tutti quanti, e piccoli e grandi, e ricchi e poveri, e liberi e servi, ricevan l'impronta sulla mano destra e sulla fronte,	16 It compel ed everyone -- smal and great alike, rich and poor, slave and citizen -- to be branded onthe right hand or on the forehead,
17 e che nessuno possa comprare o vendere, se non chi ha l'impronta o il nome della bestia o il numero del suo nome.	17 and made it il egal for anyone to buy or sell anything unless he had been branded with the name ofthe beast or with the number of its name.
18 Qui sta la sapienza! Chi ha intelligenza calcoli il numero della bestia, perchè è un numero d'uomo, e il suo numero è seicento sessantasei.	18 There is need for shrewdness here: anyone clever may interpret the number of the beast: it is thenumber of a human being, the number 666.
