Deuteronomio 26

BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 E quando sarai entrato nella terra di cui il Signore io tuo sta per darti il possesso, quando l'avrai conquistata e vi abiterai,	1 'When you have entered the country which Yahweh your God is giving you as heritage, when youhave taken possession of it and are living in it,
2 prenderai le primizie di tutti i tuoi frutti, e, messele in un paniere, andrai al luogo dal Signore Dio tuo eletto, perchè vi sia invocato il suo nome,	2 you must set aside the first-fruits of al the produce of the soil raised by you in your country, given youby Yahweh your God. You must put these in a basket and go to the place where Yahweh your God chooses togive his name a home.
3 e, presentandoti al sacerdote che vi sarà allora, gli dirai: Confesso davanti al Signore Dio tuo d'essere entrato nella terra ch'egli giurò ai nostri padri di darci.	3 You wil go to the priest then in office and say to him, "Today I declare to Yahweh my God that I havereached the country which Yahweh swore to our ancestors that he would give us."
4 E il sacerdote, preso dalla tua mano il paniere, lo porrà davanti all'altare del Signore Dio tuo.	4 'The priest will then take the basket from your hand and lay it before the altar of Yahweh your God.
5 E tu dirai al cospetto del Signore Dio tuo: Il Siro perseguitava mio padre, il quale disceso in Egitto con pochissimi dei suoi, vi dimorò come forestiero e vi divenne una nazione grande e forte e infinita di numero.	5 In the presence of Yahweh your God, you will then pronounce these words: "My father was awandering Aramaean, who went down to Egypt with a smal group of men, and stayed there, until he therebecame a great, powerful and numerous nation.
6 Ma gli Egiziani ci afflissero e ci perseguitarono, imponendoci servizi gravissimi;	6 The Egyptians ill-treated us, they oppressed us and inflicted harsh slavery on us.
7 e noi gridammo al Signore Dio dei padri nostri, il quale ci esaudì, e vista la nostra umiliazione, gli affanni e le angustie,	7 But we called on Yahweh, God of our ancestors. Yahweh heard our voice and saw our misery, our toiland our oppression;
8 ci trasse dall'Egitto con mano forte e braccio steso, con grande spavento, con segni e portenti,	8 and Yahweh brought us out of Egypt with mighty hand and outstretched arm, with great terror, andwith signs and wonders.
9 e c'introdusse in questo luogo, e ci diede una terra che stilla latte e miele.	9 He brought us here and has given us this country, a country flowing with milk and honey.
10 Per questo io offro le primizie dei frutti della terra che il Signore mi ha data. E le deporrai davanti al Signore Dio tuo, e dopo di avere adorato il Signore Dio tuo,	10 Hence, I now bring the first-fruits of the soil that you, Yahweh, have given me." 'You wil then laythem before Yahweh your God, and prostrate yourself in the presence of Yahweh your God.
11 di tutti i beni che il Signore Dio tuo avrà dato a te e alla tua casa, farai un banchetto tu col levita e col forestiero che è con te.	11 You must then rejoice in al the good things that Yahweh your God has bestowed on you and yourfamily-you, the Levite and the foreigner living with you.
12 Quando avrai compita la decima di tutti i tuoi frutti, nel terzo anno delle decime la darai al levita, al forestiero, all'orfano, alla vedova, perchè ne mangino dentro le tue porte e ne sian satollati.	12 'In the third year, the tithing year, when you have finished taking the tithe of your whole income andhave given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the orphan and the widow so that, in your towns, they may eat to theirheart's content,
13 Poi tu dirai nel cospetto del Signore Dio tuo: Ho tolto di casa mia ciò che era consacrato, e l'ho dato al levita e al forestiero, all'orfano e alla vedova, come tu mi hai ordinato, non ho trascurato i tuoi comandamenti, nè ho dimonticato i tuoi precetti.	13 in the presence of Yahweh your God, you must say: "I have cleared my house of what wasconsecrated. Yes, I have given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the orphan and the widow, in accordance with althe commandments you have imposed on me, neither going beyond your commandments nor neglecting them.
14 Non ho mangiato di queste cose nel mio lutto, nè le ho riserbate per alcun uso immondo, non ne ho adoperato nulla per i funerali. Ho obbedito alla voce del Signore Dio mio ed ho fatto ogni cosa secondo i tuoi ordini.	14 When in mourning, I have not eaten any of it; when unclean, I have taken none of it away; I havegiven none of it for the dead. I have obeyed the voice of Yahweh my God and I have behaved in every way asyou have commanded me.
15 Volgi il tuo sguardo dal tuo santuario e dalla tua eccelsa dimora dei cieli, benedici il tuo popolo d'Israele e la terra che tu ci hai data, come giurasti ai padri nostri, terra che stilla latte e miele.	15 Look down from your holy dwel ing, from heaven, and bless your people Israel and the country which you have given us, as you swore to our ancestors, a country flowing with milk and honey." '
16 Oggi il Signore Dio tuo t'ingiunge di osservare questi comandamenti e queste ordinazioni, di custodire e di metterle in pratica con tutto il tuo cuore e con tutta la tua anima.	16 'Yahweh your God commands you today to observe these laws and customs; you must keep andobserve them with al your heart and with al your soul.
17 Oggi tu hai eletto il Signore, perchè egli sia il tuo Dio, hai eletto di camminare nelle sue vie, di osservare le sue cerimonie, i suoi comandamenti e le sue ordinazioni, di obbedire al suo comando.	17 'Today you have obtained this declaration from Yahweh: that he wil be your God, but only if youfol ow his ways, keep his statutes, his commandments, his customs, and listen to his voice.
18 E il Signore oggi ha eletto te, affinchè tu gli sia un popolo tutto suo, come egli ha detto, e osservi tutti i suoi comandamenti;	18 And today Yahweh has obtained this declaration from you: that you will be his own people -- as hehas said -- but only if you keep all his commandments;
19 ond'egli ti renda eccelso sopra tutte le nazioni che ha create, a lode, rinomanza e gloria sua, e fucsia il popolo santo del Signore Dio tuo, come egli ha detto.	19 then for praise and renown and honour, he wil raise you higher than every other nation he hasmade, and you wil be a people consecrated to Yahweh, as he has promised.'
