Salmi 13

1 - Al corifeo. Salmo di David. Lo stolto dice in cuor suo: «Iddio non c'è!». Si son corrotti [gli uomini] e resi abominevoli per la loro condotta; non c'è chi faccia il bene, non ce n'è neppur uno!	1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They were corrupted, and they have become abominable in their studies. There is no one who does good; there is not even one.
2 Il Signore dal cielo guarda sui figliuoli degli uomini, per veder se c'è [ancora] un savioe qualcuno che cerchi Iddio.	2 The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men, to see if there were any who were considering or seeking God.
3 Tutti han fuorviato, si sono insieme corrotti: non c'è chi faccia il bene, non ce n'è neppur uno! Un sepolcro aperto è la loro gola, con le loro lingue tramano inganni; c'è veleno di vipere sotto le loro labbra, di maledizione e d'acerbità è piena la lor bocca. Veloci sono i loro piedi a spargere il sangue, rovina e sciagura è nelle vie loro. E la via della pace ignorano; non v'è timor di Dio dinanzi ai loro occhi.	3 They have all gone astray; together they have become useless. There is no one who does good; there is not even one.
4 Non capiranno [una buona volta] tutti questi operatori d'iniquità, che divorano il mio popolo come un pezzo di pane,	4 Their throat is an open sepulcher. With their tongues, they have been acting deceitfully; the venom of asps is under their lips. Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.
5 [che] non invocano il Signore? [Pur] trepidavan di spavento, là dove non c'era a temere;	5 Their feet are swift to shed blood. Grief and unhappiness are in their ways; and the way of peace, they have not known.
6 perché il Signore sta con la progenie dei giusti. Voi schernite il sentimento del misero, ma il Signore è la tua speranza!	6 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
7 Oh venga da Sion la salvezza d'Israele! Quando menerà via il Signore lo schiavo suo popolo, esulterà Giacobbe e s'allieterà Israele.	7 Who will grant the salvation of Israel from Zion? When the Lord turns away the captivity of his people, Jacob will exult, and Israel will rejoice.
