Prima lettera ai Corinzi 3

BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Io, fratelli, sinora non ho potuto parlare a voi come a esseri spirituali, ma carnali, come a neonati in Cristo.	1 And so, brothers, I was not able to talk to you as spiritual people; I had to talk to you as people stilliving by your natural inclinations, stil infants in Christ;
2 Vi ho dato da bere latte, non cibo solido, perché non ne eravate ancora capaci. E neanche ora lo siete,	2 I fed you with milk and not solid food, for you were not yet able to take it -- and even now, you are stilnot able to,
3 perché siete ancora carnali. Dal momento che vi sono tra voi invidia e discordia, non siete forse carnali e non vi comportate in maniera umana?	3 for you are still living by your natural inclinations. As long as there are jealousy and rivalry among you,that surely means that you are stil living by your natural inclinations and by merely human principles.
4 Quando uno dice: «Io sono di Paolo», e un altro: «Io sono di Apollo», non vi dimostrate semplicemente uomini?	4 While there is one that says, 'I belong to Paul' and another that says, 'I belong to Apol os' are you notbeing only too human?
5 Ma che cosa è mai Apollo? Che cosa è Paolo? Servitori, attraverso i quali siete venuti alla fede, e ciascuno come il Signore gli ha concesso.	5 For what is Apollos and what is Paul? The servants through whom you came to believe, and each hasonly what the Lord has given him.
6 Io ho piantato, Apollo ha irrigato, ma era Dio che faceva crescere.	6 I did the planting, Apol os did the watering, but God gave growth.
7 Sicché, né chi pianta né chi irriga vale qualcosa, ma solo Dio, che fa crescere.	7 In this, neither the planter nor the waterer counts for anything; only God, who gives growth.
8 Chi pianta e chi irriga sono una medesima cosa: ciascuno riceverà la propria ricompensa secondo il proprio lavoro.	8 It is al one who does the planting and who does the watering, and each will have the proper pay for thework that he has done.
9 Siamo infatti collaboratori di Dio, e voi siete campo di Dio, edificio di Dio.	9 After all, we do share in God's work; you are God's farm, God's building.
10 Secondo la grazia di Dio che mi è stata data, come un saggio architetto io ho posto il fondamento; un altro poi vi costruisce sopra. Ma ciascuno stia attento a come costruisce.	10 By the grace of God which was given to me, I laid the foundations like a trained master-builder, andsomeone else is building on them. Now each one must be careful how he does the building.
11 Infatti nessuno può porre un fondamento diverso da quello che già vi si trova, che è Gesù Cristo.	11 For nobody can lay down any other foundation than the one which is there already, namely JesusChrist.
12 E se, sopra questo fondamento, si costruisce con oro, argento, pietre preziose, legno, fieno, paglia,	12 On this foundation, different people may build in gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay or straw
13 l’opera di ciascuno sarà ben visibile: infatti quel giorno la farà conoscere, perché con il fuoco si manifesterà, e il fuoco proverà la qualità dell’opera di ciascuno.	13 but each person's handiwork wil be shown for what it is. The Day which dawns in fire will make it clearand the fire itself wil test the quality of each person's work.
14 Se l’opera, che uno costruì sul fondamento, resisterà, costui ne riceverà una ricompensa.	14 The one whose work stands up to it wil be given his wages;
15 Ma se l’opera di qualcuno finirà bruciata, quello sarà punito; tuttavia egli si salverà, però quasi passando attraverso il fuoco.	15 the one whose work is burnt down wil suffer the loss of it, though he himself will be saved; he wil besaved as someone might expect to be saved from a fire.
16 Non sapete che siete tempio di Dio e che lo Spirito di Dio abita in voi?	16 Do you not realise that you are a temple of God with the Spirit of God living in you?
17 Se uno distrugge il tempio di Dio, Dio distruggerà lui. Perché santo è il tempio di Dio, che siete voi.	17 If anybody should destroy the temple of God, God will destroy that person, because God's temple isholy; and you are that temple.
18 Nessuno si illuda. Se qualcuno tra voi si crede un sapiente in questo mondo, si faccia stolto per diventare sapiente,	18 There is no room for self-delusion. Any one of you who thinks he is wise by worldly standards mustlearn to be a fool in order to be real y wise.
19 perché la sapienza di questo mondo è stoltezza davanti a Dio. Sta scritto infatti: Egli fa cadere i sapienti per mezzo della loro astuzia.	19 For the wisdom of the world is folly to God. As scripture says: He traps the crafty in the snare of theirown cunning
20 E ancora: Il Signore sa che i progetti dei sapienti sono vani.	20 and again: The Lord knows the plans of the wise and how insipid they are.
21 Quindi nessuno ponga il suo vanto negli uomini, perché tutto è vostro:	21 So there is to be no boasting about human beings: everything belongs to you,
22 Paolo, Apollo, Cefa, il mondo, la vita, la morte, il presente, il futuro: tutto è vostro!	22 whether it is Paul, or Apol os, or Cephas, the world, life or death, the present or the future -- al belongto you;
23 Ma voi siete di Cristo e Cristo è di Dio.	23 but you belong to Christ and Christ belongs to God.
