BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Egli si costruì edifici nella Città di Davide, preparò il posto per l’arca di Dio ed eresse per essa una tenda.	1 After he had put up buildings for himself in the City of David, he prepared a place for the ark of Godand pitched a tent for it.
2 Allora Davide disse: «Nessuno, se non i leviti, porti l’arca di Dio, perché Dio li ha scelti come portatori dell’arca e come suoi ministri per sempre».	2 David then said, 'No one but the Levites should carry the ark of God, since Yahweh has chosen themto carry the ark of Yahweh and to minister to him for ever.'
3 Davide convocò tutto Israele a Gerusalemme, per far salire l’arca del Signore nel posto che le aveva preparato.	3 David then summoned al Israel to Jerusalem, to move the ark of Yahweh to the place which he hadprepared for it.
4 Davide radunò i figli di Aronne e i leviti.	4 David also cal ed the sons of Aaron and the Levites together:
5 Dei figli di Keat: Urièl, il comandante, con i centoventi fratelli;	5 of the sons of Kohath: Uriel the chief and his hundred and twenty kinsmen;
6 dei figli di Merarì: Asaià, il comandante, con i duecentoventi fratelli;	6 of the sons of Merari: Asaiah the chief and his two hundred and twenty kinsmen;
7 dei figli di Ghersom: Gioele, il comandante, con i centotrenta fratelli;	7 of the sons of Gershom: Joel the chief and his hundred and thirty kinsmen;
8 dei figli di Elisafàn: Semaià, il comandante, con i duecento fratelli;	8 of the sons of Elizaphan: Shemaiah the chief and his two hundred kinsmen;
9 dei figli di Ebron: Elièl, il comandante, con gli ottanta fratelli;	9 of the sons of Hebron: Eliel the chief and eighty kinsmen;
10 dei figli di Uzzièl: Amminadàb, il comandante, con i centodieci fratelli.	10 of the sons of Uzziel: Amminadab the chief and his hundred and twelve kinsmen.
11 Davide chiamò i sacerdoti Sadoc ed Ebiatàr e i leviti Urièl, Asaià, Gioele, Semaià, Elièl e Amminadàb	11 David then sent for the priests Zadok and Abiathar, and the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah,Eliel and Amminadab.
12 e disse loro: «Voi siete i capi dei casati levitici. Santificatevi, voi e i vostri fratelli. Quindi fate salire l’arca del Signore, Dio d’Israele, nel posto che io le ho preparato.	12 To them he said, 'You are the heads of the levitical families. Sanctify yourselves, you and yourkinsmen, so that you can move the ark of Yahweh, God of Israel, to the place which I have prepared for it.
13 Poiché la prima volta voi non c’eravate, il Signore nostro Dio si irritò con noi, perché non l’abbiamo consultato secondo la regola».	13 Because you were not there the first time, Yahweh our God broke out at us because we did nothandle it properly.'
14 I sacerdoti e i leviti si santificarono per far salire l’arca del Signore, Dio d’Israele.	14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves, to move the ark of Yahweh, God of Israel,
15 I figli dei leviti sollevarono l’arca di Dio sulle loro spalle per mezzo di stanghe, come aveva prescritto Mosè sulla parola del Signore.	15 and the Levites carried the ark of God with the shafts on their shoulders, as Moses had ordered inaccordance with the word of Yahweh.
16 Davide disse ai capi dei leviti di tenere pronti i loro fratelli, i cantori con gli strumenti musicali, arpe, cetre e cimbali, perché, levando la loro voce, facessero udire i suoni di gioia.	16 David also told the heads of the Levites to appoint their kinsmen as singers with the accompanimentof musical instruments, lyres, harps, and cymbals to play joyful y.
17 I leviti tennero pronti Eman, figlio di Gioele, Asaf, uno dei suoi fratelli, figlio di Berechia, e, tra i figli di Merarì, loro fratelli, Etan, figlio di Kusaià.	17 The Levites then appointed Heman son of Joel, Asaph son of Berechiah, one of his brothers, Ethanson of Kushaiah, one of their Merarite kinsmen;
18 Con loro c’erano i loro fratelli di secondo grado: Zaccaria, Ben, Iaazièl, Semiramòt, Iechièl, Unnì, Eliàb, Benaià, Maasia, Mattitia, Elifleu, Micneià, Obed-Edom e Ieièl portieri.	18 and with them their kinsmen of the second rank: Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab,Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, and Obed-Edom and Jehiel the gatekeepers.
19 I cantori Eman, Asaf ed Etan usavano cimbali di bronzo per il loro suono squillante.	19 The singers, Heman, Asaph and Ethan, were to play the bronze cymbals.
20 Zaccaria, Azièl, Semiramòt, Iechièl, Unnì, Eliàb, Maasia e Benaià suonavano arpe in acuto.	20 Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah and Benaiah were to play the lyre.
21 Mattitia, Elifleu, Micneià, Obed-Edom, Ieièl, Azaria suonavano le cetre sull’ottava per dare il tono.	21 Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jehiel and Azaziah, giving the beat, were to play theharp.
22 Chenania, capo dei leviti, dirigeva l’esecuzione, perché era esperto.	22 Chenaniah, the levitical director of transport was in charge of the transport, being skilful at it.
23 Berechia ed Elkanà facevano da portieri presso l’arca.	23 Berechiah and Elkanah were gatekeepers for the ark.
24 I sacerdoti Sebania, Giòsafat, Netanèl, Amasài, Zaccaria, Benaià, Elièzer suonavano le trombe davanti all’arca di Dio; Obed-Edom e Iechia facevano da portieri presso l’arca.	24 The priests Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah and Eliezer blew trumpetsbefore the ark of God, while Obed-Edom and Jehiah were also gatekeepers for the ark.
25 Davide, gli anziani d’Israele e i comandanti di migliaia procedettero con gioia a far salire l’arca dell’alleanza del Signore dalla casa di Obed-Edom.	25 David, the elders of Israel and the commanders of the thousands accordingly went, amid greatrejoicing, to bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh up from Obed-Edom's house,
26 Poiché Dio assisteva i leviti che portavano l’arca dell’alleanza del Signore, si sacrificarono sette giovenchi e sette arieti.	26 and since God was helping the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, theysacrificed seven bul s and seven rams.
27 Davide indossava un manto di bisso, come pure tutti i leviti che portavano l’arca, i cantori e Chenania, che dirigeva l’esecuzione. Davide aveva inoltre un efod di lino.	27 David, al the Levites who carried the ark, the singers and Chenaniah, director of transport, worecloaks of fine linen. David also wore a linen ephod.
28 Tutto Israele faceva salire l’arca dell’alleanza del Signore con grida, con suoni di corno, con trombe e con cimbali, suonando arpe e cetre.	28 Thus, with war-cries and the sounding of the horn, the trumpets and the cymbals, and the music oflyres and harps, al Israel transported the ark of the covenant of Yahweh.
29 Quando l’arca dell’alleanza del Signore entrò nella Città di Davide, Mical, figlia di Saul, guardando dalla finestra, vide il re Davide ballare e far festa e lo disprezzò in cuor suo.	29 Now, as the ark of the covenant of Yahweh entered the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul waswatching from the window and, when she saw King David dancing and playing, the sight of him filled her withcontempt.
