1 Sed et hoc facies eis, ut mihi in sacerdotio consecrentur: tolle vitulum unum de armento et arietes duos immaculatos	1 "This is the rite you shall perform in consecrating them as my priests. Procure a young bull and two unblemished rams.
2 panesque azymos et crustulas absque fermento, quae conspersa sint oleo, lagana quoque azyma oleo lita; de simila triticea cuncta facies	2 With fine wheat flour make unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers spread with oil,
3 et posita in canistro offeres, vitulum quoque et duos arietes.	3 and put them in a basket. Take the basket of them along with the bullock and the two rams.
4 Aaron ac filios eius applicabis ad ostium tabernaculi conventus. Cumque laveris patrem cum filiis suis aqua,	4 Aaron and his sons you shall also bring to the entrance of the meeting tent, and there wash them with water.
5 indues Aaron vestimentis suis, id est subucula et tunica ephod et ephod et pectorali, quod constringes ei cingulo ephod;	5 Take the vestments and clothe Aaron with the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod itself, and the breastpiece, fastening the embroidered belt of the ephod around him.
6 et pones tiaram in capite eius et diadema sanctum super tiaram	6 Put the miter on his head, the sacred diadem on the miter.
7 et oleum unctionis fundes super caput eius; atque hoc ritu consecrabitur.	7 Then take the anointing oil and anoint him with it, pouring it on his head.
8 Filios quoque illius applicabis et indues tunicis lineis cingesque balteo	8 Bring forward his sons also and clothe them with the tunics,
9 et impones eis mitras; eruntque sacerdotes mihi iure perpetuo. Postquam impleveris manus Aaron et filiorum eius,	9 gird them with the sashes, and tie the turbans on them. Thus shall the priesthood be theirs by perpetual law, and thus shall you ordain Aaron and his sons.
10 applicabis et vitulum coram tabernaculo conventus; imponentque Aaron et filii eius manus super caput illius,	10 "Now bring forward the bullock in front of the meeting tent. There Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.
11 et mactabis eum in conspectu Domini, iuxta ostium tabernaculi conventus.	11 Then slaughter the bullock before the LORD, at the entrance of the meeting tent.
12 Sumptumque de sanguine vituli, pones super cornua altaris digito tuo, reliquum autem sanguinem fundes iuxta basim eius.	12 Take some of its blood and with your finger put it on the horns of the altar. All the rest of the blood you shall pour out at the base of the altar.
13 Sumes et adipem totum, qui operit intestina, et reticulum iecoris ac duos renes et adipem, qui super eos est, et offeres comburens super altare;	13 All the fat that covers its inner organs, as well as the lobe of its liver and its two kidneys, together with the fat that is on them, you shall take and burn on the altar.
14 carnes vero vituli et corium et fimum combures foris extra castra, eo quod pro peccato sit.	14 But the flesh and hide and offal of the bullock you must burn up outside the camp, since this is a sin offering.
15 Unum quoque arietem sumes, super cuius caput ponent Aaron et filii eius manus;	15 "Then take one of the rams, and after Aaron and his sons have laid their hands on its head,
16 quem cum mactaveris, tolles sanguinem eius et fundes super altare per circuitum.	16 slaughter it. The blood you shall take and splash on all the sides of the altar.
17 Ipsum autem arietem secabis in frusta lotaque intestina eius ac pedes pones super concisas carnes et super caput illius.	17 Cut the ram into pieces; its inner organs and shanks you shall first wash, and then put them with the pieces and with the head.
18 Et adolebis totum arietem super altare: holocaustum est Domino, odor suavissimus, incensum est Domino.	18 The entire ram shall then be burned on the altar, since it is a holocaust, a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.
19 Tolles quoque arietem alterum, super cuius caput Aaron et filii eius ponent manus;	19 "After this take the other ram, and when Aaron and his sons have laid their hands on its head,
20 quem cum immolaveris, sumes de sanguine ipsius et pones super extremum auriculae dextrae Aaron et filiorum eius et super pollices manus eorum ac pedis dextri; fundesque sanguinem super altare per circuitum.	20 slaughter it. Some of its blood you shall take and put on the tip of Aaron's right ear and on the tips of his sons' right ears and on the thumbs of their right hands and the great toes of their right feet. Splash the rest of the blood on all the sides of the altar.
21 Cumque tuleris de sanguine, qui est super altare, et de oleo unctionis, asperges Aaron et vestes eius, filios et vestimenta eorum cum ipso. Et sanctus erit ipse et vestimenta eius et filii eius et vestimenta eorum cum ipso.	21 Then take some of the blood that is on the altar, together with some of the anointing oil, and sprinkle this on Aaron and his vestments, as well as on his sons and their vestments, that his sons and their vestments may be sacred.
22 Tollesque adipem de ariete et caudam et arvinam, quae operit intestina, ac reticulum iecoris et duos renes atque adipem, qui super eos est, armumque dextrum, eo quod sit aries consecrationis,	22 "Now, from this ram you shall take its fat: its fatty tail, the fat that covers its inner organs, the lobe of its liver, its two kidneys with the fat that is on them, and its right thigh, since this is the ordination ram;
23 tortamque panis unam, crustulam unam conspersam oleo, laganum unum de canistro azymorum, quod positum est in conspectu Domini;	23 then, out of the basket of unleavened food that you have set before the LORD, you shall take one of the loaves of bread, one of the cakes made with oil, and one of the wafers.
24 ponesque omnia super manus Aaron et filiorum eius, ut agitent ea coram Domino.	24 All these things you shall put into the hands of Aaron and his sons, so that they may wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.
25 Suscipiesque universa de manibus eorum et incendes in altari super holocausto in odorem suavissimum in conspectu Domini; quia incensum est Domino.	25 After you have received them back from their hands, you shall burn them on top of the holocaust on the altar as a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.
26 Sumes quoque pectusculum de ariete, quo initiatus est Aaron, elevabisque illud coram Domino; et cedet in partem tuam.	26 Finally, take the breast of Aaron's ordination ram and wave it as a wave offering before the LORD; this is to be your own portion.
27 Sanctificabisque pectusculum elevatum et armum oblatum, quem de ariete separasti,	27 "Thus shall you set aside the breast of whatever wave offering is waved, as well as the thigh of whatever raised offering is raised up, whether this be the ordination ram or anything else belonging to Aaron or to his sons.
28 quo initiatus est Aaron et filii eius; cedentque in partem Aaron et filiorum eius iure perpetuo a filiis Israel; quia oblatio est et oblatio erit a filiis Israel de victimis eorum pacificis, oblatio eorum Domino.	28 Such things are due to Aaron and his sons from the Israelites by a perpetual ordinance as a contribution. From their peace offerings, too, the Israelites shall make a contribution, their contribution to the LORD.
29 Vestem autem sanctam, qua utetur Aaron, habebunt filii eius post eum, ut ungantur in ea, et impleantur in ea manus eorum.	29 "The sacred vestments of Aaron shall be passed down to his descendants, that in them they may be anointed and ordained.
30 Septem diebus utetur illa, qui pontifex pro eo fuerit constitutus de filiis eius, qui ingredietur tabernaculum conventus, ut ministret in sanctuario.	30 The descendant who succeeds him as priest and who is to enter the meeting tent to minister in the sanctuary shall be clothed with them for seven days.
31 Arietem autem consecrationis tolles et coques carnes eius in loco sancto.	31 "You shall take the flesh of the ordination ram and boil it in a holy place.
32 Et vescetur Aaron et filii eius carnibus arietis et panibus, qui sunt in canistro, in vestibulo tabernaculi conventus.	32 At the entrance of the meeting tent Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram and the bread that is in the basket.
33 Et comedent ea, quibus expiatio facta fuerit ad implendum manus eorum, ad sanctificandum eos. Alienigena non vescetur ex eis, quia sancta sunt.	33 They themselves are to eat of these things by which atonement was made at their ordination and consecration; but no layman may eat of them, since they are sacred.
34 Quod si remanserit de carnibus consecrationis sive de panibus usque mane, combures reliquias igni; non comedentur, quia sancta sunt.	34 If some of the flesh of the ordination sacrifice or some of the bread remains over on the next day, this remnant must be burned up; it is not to be eaten, since it is sacred.
35 Omnia, quae praecepi tibi, facies super Aaron et filiis eius. Septem diebus consecrabis manus eorum	35 Carry out all these orders in regard to Aaron and his sons just as I have given them to you. "Seven days you shall spend in ordaining them,
36 et vitulum pro peccato offeres per singulos dies ad expiandum. Mundabisque altare expians illud et unges illud in sanctificationem.	36 sacrificing a bullock each day as a sin offering, to make atonement. Thus also shall you purge the altar in making atonement for it; you shall anoint it in order to consecrate it.
37 Septem diebus expiabis altare et sanctificabis; et erit sanctum sanctorum: omnis, qui tetigerit illud, sanctificabitur.	37 Seven days you shall spend in making atonement for the altar and in consecrating it. Then the altar will be most sacred, and whatever touches it will become sacred.
38 Hoc est quod facies in altari: agnos anniculos duos per singulos dies iugiter,	38 "Now, this is what you shall offer on the altar: two yearling lambs as the sacrifice established for each day;
39 unum agnum mane et alterum vespere;	39 one lamb in the morning and the other lamb at the evening twilight.
40 decimam partem similae conspersae oleo tunso, quod habeat mensuram quartam partem hin, et vinum ad libandum eiusdem mensurae in agno uno.	40 With the first lamb there shall be a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a fourth of a hin of oil of crushed olives and, as its libation, a fourth of a hin of wine.
41 Alterum vero agnum offeres ad vesperam iuxta ritum matutinae oblationis et libationis in odorem suavitatis, incensum Domino,	41 The other lamb you shall offer at the evening twilight, with the same cereal offering and libation as in the morning. You shall offer this as a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.
42 holocaustum perpetuum in generationes vestras, ad ostium tabernaculi conventus coram Domino, ubi conveniam vos, ut loquar ad te.	42 Throughout your generations this established holocaust shall be offered before the LORD at the entrance of the meeting tent, where I will meet you and speak to you.
43 Ibi conveniam filios Israel, et sanctificabitur locus in gloria mea.	43 "There, at the altar, I will meet the Israelites; hence, it will be made sacred by my glory.
44 Sanctificabo et tabernaculum conventus cum altari et Aaron cum filiis eius, ut sacerdotio fungantur mihi.	44 Thus I will consecrate the meeting tent and the altar, just as I also consecrate Aaron and his sons to be my priests.
45 Et habitabo in medio filiorum Israel eroque eis Deus;	45 I will dwell in the midst of the Israelites and will be their God.
46 et scient quia ego Dominus Deus eorum, qui eduxi eos de terra Aegypti, ut manerem inter illos: ego Dominus Deus ipsorum.	46 They shall know that I, the LORD, am their God who brought them out of the land of Egypt, so that I, the LORD, their God, might dwell among them.
