Prima lettera ai Corinzi 6

1 Ha cuore alcuno di voi, avendo lite con un altro, di stare in giudizio dinanzi agli ingiusti piuttosto, che dinanzi ai santi?	1 Is one of you with a complaint against another so brazen as to seek judgement from sinners and notfrom God's holy people?
2 Non sapete voi, che i santi giudicheranno il mondo? Che se per voi sarà giudicato il mondo, siete voi indegni dì giudicare di cose tenuissime?	2 Do you not realise that the holy people of God are to be the judges of the world? And if the world is tobe judged by you, are you not competent for petty cases?
3 Non sapete voi, che noi giudicheremo gli Angeli? Quanto più delle cose del secolo?	3 Do you not realise that we shal be the judges of angels? - then quite certainly over matters of this life.
4 Se adunque avrete lite di cose del secolo: ponete a tribunale per giudicarle quegli, che non sono niente stimati nella Chiesa.	4 But when you have matters of this life to be judged, you bring them before those who are of no accountin the Church!
5 Dico queslo per farvi arrossire. Così adunque non v'ha tra voi neppur un sapiente, che possa entrar di mezzo a giudicare del fratello?	5 I say this to make you ashamed of yourselves. Can it real y be that it is impossible to find in thecommunity one sensible person capable of deciding questions between brothers,
6 Ma il fratello litiga col fratello: e questo dinanzi agl'infedeli?	6 and that this is why brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?
7 E già assolutamente delitto per voi l'aver tra voi delle liti. E perché non piuttosto vi prendete l'ingiuria? Perché non piuttosto soffrite il danno?	7 No; it is a fault in you, by itself, that one of you should go to law against another at al : why do you notprefer to suffer injustice, why not prefer to be defrauded?
8 Ma voi fate ingiuria e portate danno: e ciò a' fratelli.	8 And here you are, doing the injustice and the defrauding, and to your own brothers.
9 Non sapete voi, che gli ingiusti non saranno eredi del regno di Dio? Badate di non errare: né i fornicatori, né gli idolatri, né gli adulteri,	9 Do you not realise that people who do evil wil never inherit the kingdom of God? Make no mistake --the sexual y immoral, idolaters, adulterers, the self-indulgent, sodomites,
10 Né gli effeminati, né quei, che peccano contro natura, né i ladri, né gli avari, né gli ubbriachi, né i maledici, né i rapaci avranno l'eredità del regna di Dio.	10 thieves, misers, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers, none of these wil inherit the kingdom of God.
11 E tali eravate alcuni: ma siete stati mondati, ma siete stati santificati, ma siete stati giustificati nel nome del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, e mediante lo spirito del nostro Dio.	11 Some of you used to be of that kind: but you have been washed clean, you have been sanctified, andyou have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and through the Spirit of our God.
12 Tutto mi è permesso, ma non tutto torna bene. Tutto mi è permesso, ma io non sarò schiavo di cosa alcuna.	12 'For me everything is permissible'; maybe, but not everything does good. True, for me everything ispermissible, but I am determined not to be dominated by anything.
13 Il cibo per il ventre, ed il ventre per i cibi: ma Dio distruggerà e quello, e questi: il corpo poi non per la fornicazione, ma pel Signore: e il Signore pel corpo.	13 Foods are for the stomach, and the stomach is for foods; and God wil destroy them both. But thebody is not for sexual immorality;
14 Iddio però e risuscitò il Signore: e noi risusciterà con la sua potenza.	14 it is for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body. God raised up the Lord and he will raise us up too by hispower.
15 Non sapete voi, che i vostri corpi sono membra di Cristo? Prese adunque le membra di Cristo, le farò membra di meretrice? Dio me ne guardi.	15 Do you not realise that your bodies are members of Christ's body; do you think one can take parts ofChrist's body and join them to the body of a prostitute? Out of the question!
16 Non sapete voi, che chi si unisce ad una meretrice, divien (con essa) un solo corpo? Imperocché (dice) saranno i due solo una carne.	16 Or do you not realise that anyone who attaches himself to a prostitute is one body with her, since thetwo, as it is said, become one flesh.
17 Chi poi sta unito col Signore, è un solo spirito con lui.	17 But anyone who attaches himself to the Lord is one spirit with him.
18 Fuggite la fornicazione. Qualunque peccato, che faccia l'uomo, è fuori del corpo: ma il fornicatore pecca contro il proprio corpo.	18 Keep away from sexual immorality. Al other sins that people may commit are done outside the body;but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
19 Non sapete voi, che le vostre membra son tempio dello spirito santo, il quale è in voi, ed il quale è stato a voi dato da Dio, e che non siete di voi stessi?	19 Do you not realise that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you and whom youreceived from God?
20 Imperocché siete stati comperati a caro prezzo. Glorificate, e portate Dio nel vostro corpo.	20 You are not your own property, then; you have been bought at a price. So use your body for the gloryof God.
