1 Paolo chiamato Apostolo di Gesù Cristo per volontà di Dio, e Sostene fratello.	1 Paul, cal ed by the wil of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and Sosthenes, our brother,
2 Alla Chiesa di Dio, che è in Corìnto, ai santificati in Cristo Gesù, chiamati santi, con tutti quegli, che invocano il nome del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, in qualunque luogo loro, e nostro.	2 to the church of God in Corinth, to those who have been consecrated in Christ Jesus and cal ed to beGod's holy people, with al those everywhere who cal on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord as wel asours.
3 Grazia a voi, e pace da Dio padre nostro, e dal Signor Gesù Cristo.	3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 Rendo grazie al mio Dio continuamente per voi per la grazia di Dio, che è stata a voi data in Gesù Cristo:	4 I am continual y thanking God about you, for the grace of God which you have been given in ChristJesus;
5 Perché in tutte le cose siete diventati ricchi in lui di ogni dono di parola, e di ogni scienza:	5 in him you have been richly endowed in every kind of utterance and knowledge;
6 Per le quali cose è stata tra di voi confermata la testimonianza renduta a Cristo:	6 so firmly has witness to Christ taken root in you.
7 Dimodoché nulla manchi di grazia alcuna a voi, che aspettate la manifestazione del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo:	7 And so you are not lacking in any gift as you wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed;
8 Il quale eziandio vi conforterà sino al fine irreprensibili per il giorno della venuta del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo.	8 he will continue to give you strength till the very end, so that you will be irreproachable on the Day ofour Lord Jesus Christ.
9 Fedele Dio; per cui siete stati chiamati alla società del Figliuol suo Gesù Cristo nostro Signore.	9 You can rely on God, who has called you to be partners with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 Or io vi scongiuro, o fratelli, pel nome del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, che diciate tutti il medesimo, e non siano scisme tra voi: ma siate perfetti nello stesso spirito, e nello stesso sentimento.	10 Brothers, I urge you, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, not to have factions among yourselves butal to be in agreement in what you profess; so that you are perfectly united in your beliefs and judgements.
11 Imperocché è stato a me significato riguardo a voi, fratelli miei, da que' di Chloe, che sono tra voi delle contese.	11 From what Chloe's people have been telling me about you, brothers, it is clear that there are seriousdifferences among you.
12 Parlo di questo, che ciaschedono di voi dice: io sono di Paolo: e io di Apollo: e io di Cefa: ed io di Cristo.	12 What I mean is this: every one of you is declaring, 'I belong to Paul,' or 'I belong to Apollos,' or 'Ibelong to Cephas,' or 'I belong to Christ.'
13 È egli diviso Cristo? È forse stato crocifisso per voi Paolo? Ovver siete stati battezzati nel nome di Paolo?	13 Has Christ been split up? Was it Paul that was crucified for you, or was it in Paul's name that you werebaptised?
14 Rendo grazie a Dio, che nissun di voi io ho battezzato, fuori che Crispo, e Gajo:	14 I am thankful I did not baptise any of you, except Crispus and Gaius,
15 Perché alcuno non dica, che siate stati battezzati nel nome mio.	15 so that no one can say that you were baptised in my name.
16 E battezzai pure la famiglia dì Stefana: del resto non so, se io mi abbia battezzato alcun altro.	16 Yes, I did baptise the family of Stephanas, too; but besides these I do not think I baptised anyone.
17 Imperocché non mi ha mandato Cristo a battezzare, ma a predicare il Vangelo: non con la sapienza delle parole, affinchè inutile non diventi la croce di Cristo.	17 After al , Christ sent me not to baptise, but to preach the gospel; and not by means of wisdom oflanguage, wise words which would make the cross of Christ pointless.
18 Imperocché la parola della croce è stoltezza per que', che si perdono: per quegli poi, che sono salvati, cioè per noi, ella è la virtù di Dio.	18 The message of the cross is fol y for those who are on the way to ruin, but for those of us who are onthe road to salvation it is the power of God.
19 Imperocché sta scritto: sperderò la sagezza de' savj, e rigetterò la prudenza dei prudenti.	19 As scripture says: I am going to destroy the wisdom of the wise and bring to nothing theunderstanding of any who understand.
20 Dove è il savio? Dove lo scriba? Dove l'indagatore di questo secolo? Non ha egli Dio infatuata la sapienza di questo mondo?	20 Where are the philosophers? Where are the experts? And where are the debaters of this age? Do younot see how God has shown up human wisdom as fol y?
21 Conciossiachè dopo che nella sapienza di Dio il mondo non conobbe Dio per mezzo della sapienza: piacque a Dio di salvare i credenti per mezzo della stoltezza della predicazione.	21 Since in the wisdom of God the world was unable to recognise God through wisdom, it was God's ownpleasure to save believers through the fol y of the gospel.
22 Dappoiché e i Giudei chieggono i miracoli, e i Greci cercano la sapienza:	22 While the Jews demand miracles and the Greeks look for wisdom,
23 Ma noi predichiamo Cristo crocifisso: scandalo pe' Giudei, stoltezza pe' Gentili;	23 we are preaching a crucified Christ: to the Jews an obstacle they cannot get over, to the gentilesfoolishness,
24 Per quegli poi, che sono chiamati e Giudei, e Gentili, Cristo virtù di Dio, e sapienza di Dio:	24 but to those who have been cal ed, whether they are Jews or Greeks, a Christ who is both the powerof God and the wisdom of God.
25 Perocché la stoltezza di Dio è più saggia degli uomini: e la debolezza di Dio, è più robusta degli uomini.	25 God's fol y is wiser than human wisdom, and God's weakness is stronger than human strength.
26 Imperocché considerate la vostra vocazione, o fratelli, come non molti sapienti secondo la carne, non molti potenti, non molti nobili:	26 Consider, brothers, how you were cal ed; not many of you are wise by human standards, not manyinfluential, not many from noble families.
27 Ma le cose stolte del mondo elesse Dio per confondere i sapienti: e le cose deboli del mondo elesse Dio per confonder le forti:	27 No, God chose those who by human standards are fools to shame the wise; he chose those who byhuman standards are weak to shame the strong,
28 E le ignobili cose del mondo, e le spregevoli elesse Dio, e quelle, che non sono, per distrugger quelle, che sono:	28 those who by human standards are common and contemptible -- indeed those who count for nothing-- to reduce to nothing al those that do count for something,
29 Affinchè nissuna carne si dia vanto dinanzi a lui.	29 so that no human being might feel boastful before God.
30 Ma da esso siete voi in Cristo Gesù, il quale è da Dio stato fatto sapienza per noi, e giustizia, e santificazione, e redenzione:	30 It is by him that you exist in Christ Jesus, who for us was made wisdom from God, and saving justiceand holiness and redemption.
31 Onde, conforme sta scritto: chi si gloria, si glorii nel Signore.	31 As scripture says: If anyone wants to boast, let him boast of the Lord.
