1 L'anno primo di Dario figlio d'Assuero, della stirpe dei Medi, che dominò sul regno dei Caldei,	1 In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;
2 il primo anno del regno di lui, io Daniele considerai nei libri il numero degli anni di cui aveva parlato il Signore al profeta Geremia, che dovevan compirsi per Gerusalemme settanta anni di desolazione.	2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
3 E volsi la mia faccia al Signore Dio mio, a pregarlo, a supplicarlo, digiunando nel cilizio e nella cenere.	3 And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplication, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:
4 Fatta al Signore Dio mio la preghiera e la confessione, dissi: « A te mi raccomando, o Signore, Dio grande e terribile, che mantieni il patto e la misericordia con quei che ti amano e osservano i tuoi comandamenti.	4 And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
5 Noi abbiamo peccato, abbiamo commessa l'iniquità, siamo stati cattivi, ribelli, ci siamo allontanati dai tuoi comandamenti e dalle tue leggi.	5 We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:
6 Non abbiamo obbedito ai profeti tuoi servi, che in nome? tuo parlarono ai nostri re, ai nostri principi, ai nostri padri, a tutto il popolo della terra.	6 Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
7 A te, o Signore, la giustizia, a noi la confusione della faccia, come infatti avviene oggi agli uomini di Giuda, agli abitanti di Gerusalemme, a tutto Israele, a quei che son vicini e a quei che son lontani, in tutte le regioni dove li hai dispersi per le loro colpe colle quali t'hanno offeso.	7 O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.
8 A noi, o Signore, ai nostri re, ai nostri principi, ai nostri padri che peccarono, il rossore del volto;	8 O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.
9 a te, o Signore la misericordia e il perdono, perchè da te ci siamo allontanati,	9 To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;
10 e non abbiamo ascoltata la voce del Signore Dio nostro per camminare nella sua legge dataci dai profeti suoi servi.	10 Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.
11 Tutto Israele ha prevaricato dalla tua legge, s'è allontanato per non ascoltare la tua voce, ed è piovuta sopra di noi la maledizione e l'imprecazione che sta scritta nel libro di Mosè servo di Dio, perchè contro di lui abbiamo peccato.	11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
12 Egli ha mantenute le parole pronunziate contro di noi, e contro i nostri principi che ci governavano, mandando sopra di noi un male sì grande che non ci fu mai sotto il cielo, e non avvenne mai a Gerusalemme.	12 And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
13 Secondo quanto è scritto nella legge di Mosè, tutto questo male è venuto sopra di noi, e noi, o Signore Dio nostro, non siamo ricorsi a te, per ritrarci dalle nostre iniquità e meditare la tua verità.	13 As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.
14 Il Signore stette attento al castigo e lo fece cadere sopra di noi. Il Signore Dio nostro è giusto in tutte le opere che egli ha fatte, perchè noi non abbiamo ascoltata la sua voce.	14 Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
15 Ed ora, o Signore Dio nostro, che traesti il tuo popolo dall'Egitto con mano forte, e ti facesti un nome quale ora possiedi, noi abbiamo peccato, abbiamo commesso l'iniquità.	15 And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.
16 Signore, per tutta la tua giustizia, ti prego ad allontanare l'ira e il tuo furore dalla tua città, Gerusalemme, dal tuo monte santo, che a causa dei nostri peccati e delle iniquità dei padri nostri, Gerusalemme e il tuo popolo sono lo scherno di tutti quelli che ci stanno d'intorno.	16 O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.
17 Ed ora, esaudisci, o Dio nostro, la preghiera del tuo servo, le sue suppliche, e pel tuo onore rivolgi la tua faccia al tuo santuario devastato.	17 Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake.
18 O mio Dio, porgi il tuo orecchio ed ascolta, apri i tuoi occhi e mira la nostra desolazione, e la città sulla quale è stato invocato il tuo nome. Non appoggiati alla nostra giustizia, ma fiduciosi nelle tue molto misericordie, umiliamo davanti a te queste preghiere?.	18 O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.
19 Ascoltale, o Signore, placati, o Signore, guarda e mettiti all'opera, pel tuo onore, non tardare, o mio Dio, perchè la città e il popolo tuo han nome da te ».	19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.
20 Mentre io tuttora parlavo, pregando, confessando i miei peccati e quelli del mio popolo d'Israele, mentre umiliavo le mie preghiere al cospetto del mio Dio a favore del monte santo del mio Dio;	20 And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;
21 mentre seguitavo a parlare pregando, ecco Gabriele, l'uomo che avevo visto da principio nella visione, subito volando mi toccò nel tempo del sacrifizio della sera.	21 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.
22 M'istruì, mi parlò e disse: « Daniele, or son venuto ad istruirti a farti comprendere.	22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.
23 Dal cominciar della tua preghiera è uscita la parola, ed io son venuto a fartela conoscere, perchè sei l'uomo dei desideri. Or dunque stai attento alla parola e comprendi la visione.	23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.
24 Settanta settimane sono state fissate pel tuo popolo, per la tua città saaia, affinchè sia tolta la prevaricazione, abbia fine il peccato, sia cancellata l'iniquità, venga l'eterna giustizia, sia compita la visioni e la profezia e sia unto il Santo dei Santi.	24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
25 Comprendilo dunque e notalo bene: Da quando uscirà l'editto per la riedificazione di Gerusalemme fino a Cristo, al Principe, vi saranno sette settimane e sessantadue settimane. Saranno riedificate Le piazze e le muraglie in tempo di angustia.	25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
26 Dopo sessantadue settimane il Cristo sarà ucciso, e non sarà più suo il popolo che lo rinnegherà. La città e il santuario sarà distrutto da un popolo con un condottiero che verrà, la sua fine sarà la devastazione, e, finita la guerra, (verrà) la desolazione decretata.	26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 Egli confermerà il testamento con molti in una settimana; e alla metà della settimana verran meno le ostie e i sacrifizi, e sarà nel tempio l'abominazione della desolazione, e la desolazione durerà fino alla consumazione, sino alla fine ».	27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
