| 1 Or Nadab e Abiu, figlioli di Aronne, presero dei turiboli, vi misero il fuoco, e, postovi sopra l'incenso, offrirono al Signore del fuoco profano; il che non era secondo gli ordini avuti. | 1 Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer, and put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and offered unholy fire before the LORD, such as he had not commanded them. |
| 2 Ma un fuoco uscito dal Signore li divorò, ed essi morirono davanti al Signore. | 2 And fire came forth from the presence of the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. |
| 3 Allora Mosè disse ad Aronne: « Questo è quello di cui ha parlato il Signore: Sarò santificato in coloro che mi si avvicinano, e sarò glorificato nel cospetto di tutto il popolo ». Aronne, ciò udito, si tacque. | 3 Then Moses said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD has said, 'I will show myself holy among those who are near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.'" And Aaron held his peace. |
| 4 E Mosè, chiamati Misael ed Elisafan figli di Oziel, zio di Aronne, disse loro: « Andate a togliere i vostri fratelli davanti al santuario e portateli fuori degli accampamenti ». | 4 And Moses called Misha-el and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said to them, "Draw near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp." |
| 5 Ed essi, andati subito, li portarono via vestiti, com'erano, delle tuniche di lino, e li gettarono fuori, come era stato loro comandato. | 5 So they drew near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp, as Moses had said. |
| 6 E Mosè disse ad Aronne ed ai figli di lui, Eleazar ed Itamar: « Non vi scoprite il capo, non stracciate le vostre vesti, che non moriate e l'ira non si estenda a tutto il popolo. Per l'incendio che il Signore ha suscitato faccian cordoglio i vostri fratelli e tutta la casa d'Israele; | 6 And Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his sons, "Do not let the hair of your heads hang loose, and do not rend your clothes, lest you die, and lest wrath come upon all the congregation; but your brethren, the whole house of Israel, may bewail the burning which the LORD has kindled. |
| 7 ma voi non uscite dalla porta del Tabernacolo, se non volete perire; perchè l'olio della santa unzione è sopra di voi ». Ed essi fecero tutto secondo il comando di Mosè. | 7 And do not go out from the door of the tent of meeting, lest you die; for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you." And they did according to the word of Moses. |
| 8 Poi il Signore disse ad Aronne: | 8 And the LORD spoke to Aaron, saying, |
| 9 « Tu e i tuoi figli non dovete bere nè vino nè altra sostanza inebriante, quando entrate nel Tabernacolo della testimonianza, per non morire: è una legge sempiterna per le vostre generazioni, | 9 "Drink no wine nor strong drink, you nor your sons with you, when you go into the tent of meeting, lest you die; it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations. |
| 10 e questo perché sappiate discernere il santo dal profano, il mondo dall'immondo, | 10 You are to distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean; |
| 11 e possiate insegnare ai figli d'Israele tutte le mie leggi che il Signore ha date loro per mezzo di Mosè ». | 11 and you are to teach the people of Israel all the statutes which the LORD has spoken to them by Moses." |
| 12 E Mosè disse ad Aronne ed ai suoi figlioli che gli erano rimasti, Eleazar e Itamar: « Prendete il sacrifizio che è restato delle oblazioni del Signore, e mangiatelo senza lievito presso l'altare, perchè è cosa sacrosanta. | 12 And Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his sons who were left, "Take the cereal offering that remains of the offerings by fire to the LORD, and eat it unleavened beside the altar, for it is most holy; |
| 13 Dovete mangiarlo in luogo santo, perchè è la parte asseguata a te e ai tuoi figlioli, delle oblazioni del Signore, come m'è stato comandato. | 13 you shall eat it in a holy place, because it is your due and your sons' due, from the offerings by fire to the LORD; for so I am commanded. |
| 14 Cosi pure il petto che è stato offerto, e la spalla che è stata separata li mangerete in luogo perfettamente mondo tu con i tuoi figli e le tue figlie, poiché son le parti riserbate a te e ai tuoi figli di tutte lo ostie, salutali dei figli d'Israele. | 14 But the breast that is waved and the thigh that is offered you shall eat in any clean place, you and your sons and your daughters with you; for they are given as your due and your sons' due, from the sacrifices of the peace offerings of the people of Israel. |
| 15 Siccome essi hanno elevato dinanzi al Signore la spalla, il petto e i grassi che si bruciano sull'altare, appartengono quindi a te e ai tuoi figli per legge perpetua, come sia ordinato il Signore ». | 15 The thigh that is offered and the breast that is waved they shall bring with the offerings by fire of the fat, to wave for a wave offering before the LORD, and it shall be yours, and your sons' with you, as a due for ever; as the LORD has commanded." |
| 16 Or avendo Mose fatta ricerca del capro che era stato offerto per il peccato, trovatolo bruciato, si adirò contro i figli rimasti ad Aronne, Eleazar ed Itamar, e disse: | 16 Now Moses diligently inquired about the goat of the sin offering, and behold, it was burned! And he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron who were left, saying, |
| 17 « Perchè non avete mangiato nel luogo santo l'ostia per il peccato, che è cosa sacrosanta, e vi è stata data, affinchè portiate l'iniquità del popolo e preghiate per esso nel cospetto del Signore? | 17 "Why have you not eaten the sin offering in the place of the sanctuary, since it is a thing most holy and has been given to you that you may bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD? |
| 18 Tanto più che il sangue di essi non è stato portato nel santuario, voi avreste dovuto mangiarla nel santuario, come mi fu comandato.» | 18 Behold, its blood was not brought into the inner part of the sanctuary. You certainly ought to have eaten it in the sanctuary, as I commanded." |
| 19 Aronne rispose: « Oggi e stata offerta la vittima per il peccato e l'olocausto davanti al Signore; e mi e accaduto quello che vedi. Or come avrei potuto mangiarne o piacere al Signore nelle cerimonie coll'animo straziato? » | 19 And Aaron said to Moses, "Behold, today they have offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD; and yet such things as these have befallen me! If I had eaten the sin offering today, would it have been acceptable in the sight of the LORD?" |
| 20 Sentito questo, Mosè accettò la scusa. | 20 And when Moses heard that, he was content. |
