Seconda lettera ai Tessalonicesi 3

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Del resto, pregate, o fratelli, per noi, perchè la parola del Signore abbia corso e sia glorificata come presso di voi,	1 Final y, brothers, pray for us that the Lord's message may spread quickly, and be received with honouras it was among you;
2 e affinchè noi siamo liberati dagli uomini protervi e malvagi, poichè non è di tutti la fede.	2 and pray that we may be preserved from bigoted and evil people, for not everyone has faith.
3 Ma fedele è Dio che vi conforterà e custodirà dal maligno.	3 You can rely on the Lord, who wil give you strength and guard you from the evil One,
4 Abbiam piena fede in Dio per voi, che voi fate e farete le cose che ordiniamo.	4 and we, in the Lord, have every confidence in you, that you are doing and wil go on doing al that wetel you.
5 E il Signore diriga i vostri cuori all'amore di Dio e alla paziente aspettativa di Cristo.	5 May the Lord turn your hearts towards the love of God and the perseverance of Christ.
6 Vi prescriviamo poi, o fratelli, nel nome del Signore Gesù Cristo, di tenervi lontani da qualunque fratello che si conduca disordinatamente, e non secondo l'insegnamento che avete ricevuto da noi.	6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge you, brothers, to keep away from any of the brothers wholives an undisciplined life, not in accordance with the tradition you received from us.
7 Poichè voi sapete come ci dovete imitare; non mica in modo disordinato noi abbiamo vissuto fra voi,	7 You know how you should take us as your model: we were not undisciplined when we were with you,
8 nè abbiamo mangiato gratuitamente il pane da nessuno, ma con fatica e pena, notte e giorno lavorando, per non esser di peso ad alcuno di voi.	8 nor did we ever accept food from anyone without paying for it; no, we worked with unsparing energy,night and day, so as not to be a burden on any of you.
9 Non che non avessimo la podestà di ciò, ma per dare in noi stessi a voi un esempio da imitare.	9 This was not because we had no right to be, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to imitate.
10 E quando eravamo presso di voi, questo precetto vi davamo che se uno non vuol lavorare, neppur non deve mangiare.	10 We urged you when we were with you not to let anyone eat who refused to work.
11 Ma sentiamo dire, che alcuni fra voi si conducono disordinatamente, non facendo nulla ma dandosi da fare in cose che non appartengono loro.	11 Now we hear that there are some of you who are living lives without any discipline, doing no workthemselves but interfering with other people's.
12 Ora a sì fatti noi prescriviamo ed esortiamo nel Signore Gesù Cristo, che mangino il loro pane lavorando tranquillamente.	12 In the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge and cal on people of this kind to go on quietly working and earningthe food that they eat.
13 E voi, o fratelli, non vi stancate di fare il bene.	13 My brothers, never slacken in doing what is right.
14 E se qualcuno non dà retta alla nostra parola per mezzo di questa lettera, costui segnatelo, rammentando di non aver commercio con lui affinchè si vergogni;	14 If anyone refuses to obey what I have written in this letter, take note of him and have nothing to dowith him, so that he wil be ashamed of himself,
15 non dico di trattarlo come nemico, ma ammonitelo come fratello.	15 though you are not to treat him as an enemy, but to correct him as a brother.
16 E lo stesso Signore della pace dia la pace a voi del continuo in ogni maniera. Il Signore sia con voi tutti.	16 May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at al times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.
17 Il saluto di mia mano di Paolo, che è come il sigillo di ogni lettera; io scrivo così.	17 This greeting is in my own hand-PAUL. It is the mark of genuineness in every letter; this is my own writing.
18 La grazia del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo sia con tutti voi.	18 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
