Seconda lettera ai Corinzi 6

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Or come cooperatori [di Cristo], noi esortiamo altresì a che voi non in vano riceviate la grazia di Dio.	1 As his fel ow-workers, we urge you not to let your acceptance of his grace come to nothing.
2 Giacchè Egli dice: «Nel tempo favorevole t'ho esaudito e nel giorno della salvezza t'ho recato aiuto»; ecco ora il tempo assai favorevole, eccolo il giorno della salvezza.	2 As he said, 'At the time of my favour I have answered you; on the day of salvation I have helped you';wel , now is the real time of favour, now the day of salvation is here.
3 A nessuno diamo noi ragion d'inciampo, a evitare che il ministero sia vituperato,	3 We avoid putting obstacles in anyone's way, so that no blame may attach to our work of service;
4 ma in ogni cosa raccomandiamo noi stessi quali ministri di Dio con grande costanza, in mezzo alle afflizioni, alle necessità, alle angustie,	4 but in everything we prove ourselves authentic servants of God; by resolute perseverance in times ofhardships, difficulties and distress;
5 sotto i colpi, nelle prigionie, nelle sommosse, tra le fatiche e le veglie e i digiuni;	5 when we are flogged or sent to prison or mobbed; labouring, sleepless, starving;
6 vivendo in castità, con conoscenza, con longanimità, con dolcezza, nello Spirito Santo, in amore sincero,	6 in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness; in the Holy Spirit, in a love free of affectation;
7 con la parola della verità e la virtù di Dio; mediante le armi della giustizia, armi di offesa e difesa;	7 in the word of truth and in the power of God; by using the weapons of uprightness for attack and fordefence:
8 fra la gloria e l'ignominia, fra la calunnia e la lode; come seduttori eppur veritieri; come ignoti e pur ben conosciuti;	8 in times of honour or disgrace, blame or praise; taken for impostors and yet we are genuine;
9 come moribondi ma ecco siam vivi; come castigati, eppur non siam messi a morte;	9 unknown and yet we are acknowledged; dying, and yet here we are, alive; scourged but not executed;
10 come addolorati eppur sempre lieti; come miserabili, ma facciam ricchi molti; come gente che non ha nulla, eppur possediamo ogni cosa.	10 in pain yet always ful of joy; poor and yet making many people rich; having nothing, and yet owningeverything.
11 La bocca nostra s'è aperta verso voi, o Corinti, e il nostro cuore s'è allargato;	11 People of Corinth, we have spoken frankly and opened our heart to you.
12 non ci state allo stretto in noi, bensì siete allo stretto nelle vostre viscere;	12 Any distress you feel is not on our side; the distress is in your own selves.
13 ebbene lo dico come a figliuoli, in compenso allargatevi anche voi!	13 In fair exchange -- I speak as though to children of mine -- you must open your hearts too.
14 Non unitevi a un giogo sconveniente cogli infedeli; poichè che cosa ha a che fare la giustizia coll'iniquità? e che comunanza v'è tra la luce e le tenebre?	14 Do not harness yourselves in an uneven team with unbelievers; how can uprightness and law-breaking be partners, or what can light and darkness have in common?
15 Che accordo tra Cristo e Belial? che rapporto tra il fedele e l'infedele?	15 How can Christ come to an agreement with Beliar and what sharing can there be between a believerand an unbeliever?
16 Come mettere insieme il tempio di Dio e gli idoli? poichè noi siamo il tempio di Dio vivente; secondochè disse Iddio: «Io abiterò e camminerò in mezzo a loro; e sarò loro Dio ed essi saranno mio popolo»;	16 The temple of God cannot compromise with false gods, and that is what we are -- the temple of theliving God. We have God's word for it: I shall fix my home among them and live among them; I will be their Godand they wil be my people.
17 perciò «Uscite di mezzo ad essi, e separatevene» dice il Signore, e: «Non toccate cosa impura»,	17 Get away from them, purify yourselves, says the Lord. Do not touch anything unclean, and then I shallwelcome you.
18 e io v'accoglierò e sarò a voi come padre e voi a me come figli e figlie, dice il Signore Onnipotente.	18 I shal be father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to me, says the almighty Lord.
