BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Dio, che molte volte e in diversi modi nei tempi antichi aveva parlato ai padri per mezzo dei profeti,	1 At many moments in the past and by many means, God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets;but
2 ultimamente, in questi giorni, ha parlato a noi per mezzo del Figlio, che ha stabilito erede di tutte le cose e mediante il quale ha fatto anche il mondo.	2 in our time, the final days, he has spoken to us in the person of his Son, whom he appointed heir of althings and through whom he made the ages.
3 Egli è irradiazione della sua gloria e impronta della sua sostanza, e tutto sostiene con la sua parola potente. Dopo aver compiuto la purificazione dei peccati, sedette alla destra della maestà nell’alto dei cieli,	3 He is the reflection of God's glory and bears the impress of God's own being, sustaining all things byhis powerful command; and now that he has purged sins away, he has taken his seat at the right hand of thedivine Majesty on high.
4 divenuto tanto superiore agli angeli quanto più eccellente del loro è il nome che ha ereditato.	4 So he is now as far above the angels as the title which he has inherited is higher than their own name.
5 Infatti, a quale degli angeli Dio ha mai detto: Tu sei mio figlio, oggi ti ho generato? E ancora: Io sarò per lui padre ed egli sarà per me figlio?	5 To which of the angels, then, has God ever said: You are my Son, today I have fathered you, or: I shalbe a father to him and he a son to me?
6 Quando invece introduce il primogenito nel mondo, dice: Lo adorino tutti gli angeli di Dio.	6 Again, when he brings the First-born into the world, he says: Let all the angels of God pay him homage.
7 Mentre degli angeli dice: Egli fa i suoi angeli simili al vento, e i suoi ministri come fiamma di fuoco,	7 To the angels, he says: appointing the winds his messengers and flames of fire his servants,
8 al Figlio invece dice: Il tuo trono, Dio, sta nei secoli dei secoli; e: Lo scettro del tuo regno è scettro di equità;	8 but to the Son he says: Your throne, God, is for ever and ever; and: the sceptre of his kingdom is asceptre of justice;
9 hai amato la giustizia e odiato l’iniquità, perciò Dio, il tuo Dio, ti ha consacrato con olio di esultanza, a preferenza dei tuoi compagni.	9 you love uprightness and detest evil. This is why God, your God, has anointed you with the oil ofgladness, as none of your rivals.
10 E ancora: In principio tu, Signore, hai fondato la terra e i cieli sono opera delle tue mani.	10 And again: Long ago, Lord, you laid earth's foundations, the heavens are the work of your hands.
11 Essi periranno, ma tu rimani; tutti si logoreranno come un vestito.	11 They pass away but you remain, they al wear out like a garment.
12 Come un mantello li avvolgerai, come un vestito anch’essi saranno cambiati; ma tu rimani lo stesso e i tuoi anni non avranno fine.	12 Like a cloak you wil rol them up, like a garment, and they wil be changed. But you never alter andyour years are unending.
13 E a quale degli angeli poi ha mai detto: Siedi alla mia destra, finché io non abbia messo i tuoi nemici a sgabello dei tuoi piedi?	13 To which of the angels has God ever said: Take your seat at my right hand til I have made yourenemies your footstool?
14 Non sono forse tutti spiriti incaricati di un ministero, inviati a servire coloro che erediteranno la salvezza?	14 Are they not al ministering spirits, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?
