Prima lettera ai Corinzi 6

BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Quando uno di voi è in lite con un altro, osa forse appellarsi al giudizio degli ingiusti anziché dei santi?	1 Is one of you with a complaint against another so brazen as to seek judgement from sinners and notfrom God's holy people?
2 Non sapete che i santi giudicheranno il mondo? E se siete voi a giudicare il mondo, siete forse indegni di giudizi di minore importanza?	2 Do you not realise that the holy people of God are to be the judges of the world? And if the world is tobe judged by you, are you not competent for petty cases?
3 Non sapete che giudicheremo gli angeli? Quanto più le cose di questa vita!	3 Do you not realise that we shal be the judges of angels? - then quite certainly over matters of this life.
4 Se dunque siete in lite per cose di questo mondo, voi prendete a giudici gente che non ha autorità nella Chiesa?	4 But when you have matters of this life to be judged, you bring them before those who are of no accountin the Church!
5 Lo dico per vostra vergogna! Sicché non vi sarebbe nessuna persona saggia tra voi, che possa fare da arbitro tra fratello e fratello?	5 I say this to make you ashamed of yourselves. Can it real y be that it is impossible to find in thecommunity one sensible person capable of deciding questions between brothers,
6 Anzi, un fratello viene chiamato in giudizio dal fratello, e per di più davanti a non credenti!	6 and that this is why brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?
7 È già per voi una sconfitta avere liti tra voi! Perché non subire piuttosto ingiustizie? Perché non lasciarvi piuttosto privare di ciò che vi appartiene?	7 No; it is a fault in you, by itself, that one of you should go to law against another at al : why do you notprefer to suffer injustice, why not prefer to be defrauded?
8 Siete voi invece che commettete ingiustizie e rubate, e questo con i fratelli!	8 And here you are, doing the injustice and the defrauding, and to your own brothers.
9 Non sapete che gli ingiusti non erediteranno il regno di Dio? Non illudetevi: né immorali, né idolatri, né adùlteri, né depravati, né sodomiti,	9 Do you not realise that people who do evil wil never inherit the kingdom of God? Make no mistake --the sexual y immoral, idolaters, adulterers, the self-indulgent, sodomites,
10 né ladri, né avari, né ubriaconi, né calunniatori, né rapinatori erediteranno il regno di Dio.	10 thieves, misers, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers, none of these wil inherit the kingdom of God.
11 E tali eravate alcuni di voi! Ma siete stati lavati, siete stati santificati, siete stati giustificati nel nome del Signore Gesù Cristo e nello Spirito del nostro Dio.	11 Some of you used to be of that kind: but you have been washed clean, you have been sanctified, andyou have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and through the Spirit of our God.
12 «Tutto mi è lecito!». Sì, ma non tutto giova. «Tutto mi è lecito!». Sì, ma non mi lascerò dominare da nulla.	12 'For me everything is permissible'; maybe, but not everything does good. True, for me everything ispermissible, but I am determined not to be dominated by anything.
13 «I cibi sono per il ventre e il ventre per i cibi!». Dio però distruggerà questo e quelli. Il corpo non è per l’impurità, ma per il Signore, e il Signore è per il corpo.	13 Foods are for the stomach, and the stomach is for foods; and God wil destroy them both. But thebody is not for sexual immorality;
14 Dio, che ha risuscitato il Signore, risusciterà anche noi con la sua potenza.	14 it is for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body. God raised up the Lord and he will raise us up too by hispower.
15 Non sapete che i vostri corpi sono membra di Cristo? Prenderò dunque le membra di Cristo e ne farò membra di una prostituta? Non sia mai!	15 Do you not realise that your bodies are members of Christ's body; do you think one can take parts ofChrist's body and join them to the body of a prostitute? Out of the question!
16 Non sapete che chi si unisce alla prostituta forma con essa un corpo solo? I due – è detto – diventeranno una sola carne.	16 Or do you not realise that anyone who attaches himself to a prostitute is one body with her, since thetwo, as it is said, become one flesh.
17 Ma chi si unisce al Signore forma con lui un solo spirito.	17 But anyone who attaches himself to the Lord is one spirit with him.
18 State lontani dall’impurità! Qualsiasi peccato l’uomo commetta, è fuori del suo corpo; ma chi si dà all’impurità, pecca contro il proprio corpo.	18 Keep away from sexual immorality. Al other sins that people may commit are done outside the body;but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
19 Non sapete che il vostro corpo è tempio dello Spirito Santo, che è in voi? Lo avete ricevuto da Dio e voi non appartenete a voi stessi.	19 Do you not realise that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you and whom youreceived from God?
20 Infatti siete stati comprati a caro prezzo: glorificate dunque Dio nel vostro corpo!	20 You are not your own property, then; you have been bought at a price. So use your body for the gloryof God.
