1 Il Signore disse ad Aronne: «Tu, i tuoi figli e la casa di tuo padre con te porterete il peso delle colpe commesse nel santuario; tu e i tuoi figli con te porterete il peso delle colpe commesse nell’esercizio del vostro sacerdozio.	1 Yahweh then said to Aaron: 'You, your sons and your ancestor's line with you wil be answerable foroffences against the sanctuary. You and your sons with you wil be answerable for the offences of yourpriesthood.
2 Anche i tuoi fratelli, la tribù di Levi, la tribù di tuo padre, farai accostare a te, perché si aggiungano a te e ti assistano quando tu e i tuoi figli con te sarete davanti alla tenda della Testimonianza.	2 You will admit your brothers of the branch of Levi, your ancestor's tribe, to join you and serve you,yourself and your sons, before the Tent of the Testimony.
3 Essi staranno al tuo servizio e al servizio di tutta la tenda; soltanto non si accosteranno agli arredi del santuario né all’altare, perché non moriate né loro né voi.	3 They must be at your service and the service of the whole Tent. Provided they do not come near thesacred vessels or the altar, they wil be in no more danger of death than you.
4 Essi si aggiungeranno a te e presteranno servizio alla tenda del convegno per tutto il servizio della tenda, e nessun profano si accosterà a voi.	4 They must join you, they must take charge of the Tent of Meeting for the entire ministry of the Tent,and no unauthorised person will come near you.
5 Voi sarete addetti alla custodia del santuario e dell’altare, e non vi sarà più ira contro gli Israeliti.	5 You will take charge of the sanctuary and charge of the altar, and retribution wil never again befallthe Israelites.
6 Quanto a me, ecco, io ho preso i vostri fratelli, i leviti, tra gli Israeliti; dati al Signore, essi sono resi in dono a voi, per prestare servizio nella tenda del convegno.	6 Of the Israelites, I myself have chosen your brothers the Levites as a gift to you. As men dedicated,they will belong to Yahweh, to serve at the Tent of Meeting.
7 Tu e i tuoi figli con te eserciterete il vostro sacerdozio per tutto ciò che riguarda l’altare e ciò che è oltre il velo, e presterete il vostro servizio. Io vi do l’esercizio del sacerdozio come un dono. Il profano che si accosterà sarà messo a morte».	7 You and your sons wil undertake the priestly duties in all that concerns the altar and all that liesbehind the curtain. You wil perform the liturgy, the duties of which I entrust to your priesthood. But anunauthorised person approaching wil incur death.'
8 Il Signore parlò ancora ad Aronne: «Ecco, io ti do il diritto su tutto ciò che si preleva per me, cioè su tutte le cose consacrate dagli Israeliti; le do a te e ai tuoi figli, a motivo della tua unzione, per legge perenne.	8 Yahweh said to Aaron: 'I myself have put you in charge of everything set aside for me. Everythingconsecrated by the Israelites I give to you and your sons as your portion by perpetual decree.
9 Questo ti apparterrà fra le cose santissime, fra le loro offerte destinate al fuoco: ogni oblazione, ogni sacrificio per il peccato e ogni sacrificio di riparazione che mi presenteranno; sono tutte cose santissime che apparterranno a te e ai tuoi figli.	9 Of the things especial y holy, of the food offered, this is what wil revert to you: every offering that theIsraelites give back to me, whether it be a cereal offering, a sacrifice for sin or a sacrifice of reparation, is a thingespecial y holy and will revert to you and your sons.
10 Le mangerai in luogo santissimo; ne mangerà ogni maschio. Le tratterai come cose sante.	10 You wil eat the things especial y holy. Every male may eat them. You wil regard them as sacred.
11 Questo ancora ti apparterrà: i doni che gli Israeliti presenteranno come tributo prelevato e tutte le loro offerte fatte con il rito di elevazione. Io le do a te, ai tuoi figli e alle tue figlie con te, per legge perenne. Chiunque sarà puro in casa tua ne potrà mangiare.	11 'To you wil revert also whatever is set aside from the offerings of the Israelites, whatever is held outwith the gesture of offering; this I give to you and your sons and daughters, by perpetual decree. Al members ofyour household may eat it unless they are unclean.
12 Ti do anche tutte le primizie che offriranno al Signore: il meglio dell’olio nuovo, il meglio del mosto e del grano.	12 All the best of the oil, al the best of the new wine and wheat, these first-fruits offered by them toYahweh I give to you.
13 Le primizie di quanto produrrà la loro terra, che essi porteranno al Signore, saranno tue. Chiunque sarà puro in casa tua ne potrà mangiare.	13 All the first produce of the country brought by them to Yahweh wil revert to you. Al members of your household may eat it unless they are unclean.
14 Quanto in Israele sarà consacrato per voto di sterminio sarà tuo.	14 Everything in Israel put under the curse of destruction wil revert to you.
15 Ogni essere che nasce per primo da ogni essere vivente, offerto al Signore, sia degli uomini sia degli animali, sarà tuo; però farai riscattare il primogenito dell’uomo e farai anche riscattare il primo nato dell’animale impuro.	15 Every first-born of al creatures brought to Yahweh, human or animal, wil revert to you, but you willhave to redeem the first-born of man; you wil also redeem the first-born of an unclean animal.
16 Il tuo riscatto, lo effettuerai dall’età di un mese, secondo la stima di cinque sicli d’argento, conformi al siclo del santuario, che è di venti ghera.	16 You wil redeem it in the month in which it is born, valuing it at five shekels, at the sanctuary shekel,which is twenty gerah.
17 Ma non farai riscattare il primo nato della mucca, né il primo nato della pecora, né il primo nato della capra: sono cosa sacra. Verserai il loro sangue sull’altare e farai bruciare le loro parti grasse come sacrificio consumato dal fuoco, profumo gradito al Signore.	17 But you wil not redeem the first-born of cow, sheep and goat. They are holy: you wil sprinkle theirblood on the altar and burn the fat as food burnt to be a smel pleasing to Yahweh;
18 La loro carne sarà tua; sarà tua come il petto dell’offerta che si fa con il rito di elevazione e come la coscia destra.	18 the meat wil revert to you, as wil the forequarter that has been presented with the gesture ofoffering, and the right thigh.
19 Io do a te, ai tuoi figli e alle tue figlie con te, per legge perenne, tutte le offerte di cose sante che gli Israeliti preleveranno per il Signore. È un’alleanza inviolabile, perenne, davanti al Signore, per te e per la tua discendenza con te».	19 Everything the Israelites set aside for Yahweh from the holy things, I give to you and your sons anddaughters, by perpetual decree. This is a covenant of salt for ever before Yahweh, for you and your descendantstoo.'
20 Il Signore disse ad Aronne: «Tu non avrai alcuna eredità nella loro terra e non ci sarà parte per te in mezzo a loro. Io sono la tua parte e la tua eredità in mezzo agli Israeliti.	20 Yahweh said to Aaron: 'You will have no heritage in their country, you wil not have a portion likethem; I shal be your portion and your heritage among the Israelites.
21 Ai figli di Levi io do in possesso tutte le decime in Israele, in cambio del servizio che fanno, il servizio della tenda del convegno.	21 'Look, as heritage I give the Levites al the tithes col ected in Israel, in return for their services, forthe ministry they render in the Tent of Meeting.
22 Gli Israeliti non si accosteranno più alla tenda del convegno, per non caricarsi di un peccato che li farebbe morire.	22 The Israelites wil no longer approach the Tent of Meeting, on pain of committing a deadly sin.
23 Ma il servizio nella tenda del convegno lo faranno soltanto i leviti; essi porteranno il peso della loro colpa. Sarà una legge perenne, di generazione in generazione. Non possederanno eredità tra gli Israeliti,	23 Levi will discharge the duties of the Tent of Meeting, and the Levites wil bear the consequences oftheir own guilt. This is a perpetual decree binding all your descendants: the Levites wil have no heritage amongthe Israelites,
24 poiché io do in possesso ai leviti le decime che gli Israeliti preleveranno come contributo per il Signore; per questo ho detto di loro: “Non avranno possesso ereditario tra gli Israeliti”».	24 for the tithe which the Israelites set aside for Yahweh is the heritage I have given the Levites. This iswhy I have told them that they will have no heritage among the Israelites.'
25 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e disse:	25 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
26 «Parlerai inoltre ai leviti dicendo loro: “Quando prenderete dagli Israeliti la decima che io ho dato a voi da parte loro come vostra eredità, preleverete un’offerta come contributo al Signore: una decima dalla decima.	26 'Speak to the Levites and say: "When from the Israelites you receive the tithe which I have given youfrom them as your heritage, you wil set a portion of this aside for Yahweh: a tithe of the tithe.
27 Il vostro prelevamento vi sarà calcolato come quello del grano che viene dall’aia e come il mosto che esce dal torchio.	27 It wil take the place of the portion set aside that is due from you, like the wheat from the threshing-floor and new wine from the press.
28 Così anche voi preleverete un’offerta per il Signore da tutte le decime che riceverete dagli Israeliti e darete al sacerdote Aronne l’offerta che avrete prelevato per il Signore.	28 Thus you too wil set a portion aside for Yahweh out of all the tithes you receive from the Israelites.You will give what you have set aside for Yahweh to the priest Aaron.
29 Da tutte le cose che vi saranno concesse preleverete tutte le offerte per il Signore; di tutto ciò che vi sarà di meglio preleverete la parte sacra”.	29 Out of all the gifts you receive, you will set a portion aside for Yahweh. Out of al these things, youwil set aside the best, the sacred portion."
30 Dirai loro: “Quando ne avrete prelevato il meglio, quel che rimane sarà calcolato per i leviti come il provento dell’aia e come il provento del torchio.	30 'You wil say to them, "After you have set the best aside, the remainder wil take the place, in theLevites' case, of the produce of the threshing-floor and wine-press.
31 Lo potrete mangiare in qualunque luogo, voi e le vostre famiglie, perché è il vostro salario, in cambio del vostro servizio nella tenda del convegno.	31 You may consume this anywhere, you and the members of your households; this is yourrecompense for serving in the Tent of Meeting,
32 Dal momento che ne avrete prelevato la parte migliore, non sarete gravati da alcun peccato; non profanerete le cose sante degli Israeliti e non morirete”».	32 and you wil not incur sin by doing so, once you have set aside the best; you wil not be profaningthe things consecrated by the Israelites and wil not incur death." '
