Salmos 10

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Lámed ¿Por qué, Yahveh, te quedas lejos, te escondes en las horas de la angustia?	1 Why, Yahweh, do you keep so distant, stay hidden in times of trouble?
2 Por el orgullo del impío es perseguido el desdichado, queda preso en la trampa que le ha urdido.	2 In his pride the wicked hunts down the weak, who is caught in the schemes he devises.
3 (Mem.) Sí, el impío se jacta de los antojos de su alma, el avaro que bendice menosprecia a Yahveh,	3 The wicked is proud of his inmost desires, by his blasphemies the grasping spurns Yahweh,
4 (Nun.) el impío, insolente, no le busca: «¡No hay Dios!», es todo lo que piensa.	4 the wicked in his arrogance does not look very far; 'There is no God,' is his only thought.
5 En todo tiempo se afianzan sus caminos, allá arriba tus juicios muy lejos de él están, a todos sus rivales da soplidos.	5 In al circumstances his step is assured; your judgements are above his head. His rivals? He scoffs atthem al .
6 Dice en su corazón: «¡Jamás vacilaré!» (Sámek.) porque en desgracia no se ve,	6 He says in his heart, 'I shall never be shaken,' free of trouble himself,
7 maldice. (Pe.) De fraude y perfidia está llena su boca, bajo su lengua sólo maldad e iniquidad;	7 he wishes it on others. His speech is full of lies and browbeating, under his tongue lurk spite andwickedness.
8 al acecho se aposta entre las cañas en los recodos mata al inocente. (Ain.) Todo ojos, espía al desvalido,	8 In the undergrowth he lies in ambush, in his hiding-place he murders the innocent. He watches intentlyfor the downtrodden,
9 al acecho escondido como león en su guarida, al acecho para atrapar al desdichado, atrapa al desdichado arrastrándole en su red.	9 lurking unseen like a lion in his lair, lurking to pounce on the poor; he pounces on him and drags himoff in his net.
10 (Sade.) Espía, se agazapa, se encoge, el desvalido cae en su poder;	10 He keeps watch, crouching down low, the poor wretch falls into his clutches;
11 dice en su corazón: «Dios se ha olvidado, tiene tapado el rostro, no ha de ver jamás».	11 he says in his heart, 'God forgets, he has turned away his face to avoid seeing the end.'
12 Qof. ¡Levántate, Yahveh, alza tu mano, oh Dios! ¡No te olvides de los desdichados!	12 Rise, Yahweh! God, raise your hand, do not forget the afflicted!
13 ¿Por qué el impío menosprecia a Dios, dice en su corazón: «No vendrás a indagar?»	13 Why should the wicked spurn God, assuring himself you wil never follow it up?
14 Res. Lo has visto ya, que la pena y la tristeza las miras tú para tomarlas en tu mano: el desvalido se abandona a ti, tú socorres al huérfano.	14 You have seen for yourself the trouble and vexation, you watch so as to take it in hand. Theoppressed relies on you; you are the only recourse of the orphan.
15 Sin. ¡Quiebra el brazo del impío, del malvado; indaga su impiedad sin dejar rastro!	15 Break the arm of the wicked and evil, seek out wickedness til there is none left to be found.
16 ¡Yahveh es rey por siempre, por los siglos; los gentiles han sido barridos de su tierra!	16 Yahweh is king for ever and ever, the heathen has vanished from his country.
17 Tau. El deseo de los humildes escuchas tú, Yahveh, su corazón confortas, alarguas tus oídos,	17 Yahweh, you listen to the laments of the poor, you give them courage, you grant them a hearing,
18 para hacer justicia al huérfano, al vejado: ¡cese de dar terror el hombre salido de la tierra!	18 to give judgement for the orphaned and exploited, so that earthborn humans may strike terror nomore.
