Isaia 11

NOVA VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Et egredietur virga de stirpe Iesse, et flos de radice eius ascendet;	1 A shoot wil spring from the stock of Jesse, a new shoot will grow from his roots.
2 et requiescet super eum spiritus Domini: spiritus sapientiae et intellectus, spiritus consilii et fortitudinis, spiritus scientiae et timoris Domini;	2 On him wil rest the spirit of Yahweh, the spirit of wisdom and insight, the spirit of counsel and power,the spirit of knowledge and fear of Yahweh:
3 et deliciae eius in timore Domini. Non secundum visionem oculorum iudicabit neque secundum auditum aurium decernet;	3 his inspiration wil lie in fearing Yahweh. His judgement wil not be by appearances. his verdict notgiven on hearsay.
4 sed iudicabit in iustitia pauperes et decernet in aequitate pro mansuetis terrae; et percutiet terram virga oris sui et spiritu labiorum suorum interficiet impium.	4 He will judge the weak with integrity and give fair sentence for the humblest in the land. He will strikethe country with the rod of his mouth and with the breath of his lips bring death to the wicked.
5 Et erit iustitia cingulum lumborum eius, et fides cinctorium renum eius.	5 Uprightness wil be the belt around his waist, and constancy the belt about his hips.
6 Habitabit lupus cum agno, et pardus cum haedo accubabit; vitulus et leo simul saginabuntur, et puer parvulus minabit eos.	6 The wolf will live with the lamb, the panther lie down with the kid, calf, lion and fat-stock beast together,with a little boy to lead them.
7 Vitula et ursus pascentur, simul accubabunt catuli eorum; et leo sicut bos comedet paleas.	7 The cow and the bear will graze, their young wil lie down together. The lion wil eat hay like the ox.
8 Et ludet infans ab ubere super foramine aspidis; et in cavernam reguli, qui ablactatus fuerit, manum suam mittet.	8 The infant wil play over the den of the adder; the baby wil put his hand into the viper's lair.
9 Non nocebunt et non occident in universo monte sancto meo, quia plena erit terra scientia Domini, sicut aquae mare operiunt.	9 No hurt, no harm wil be done on all my holy mountain, for the country wil be full of knowledge ofYahweh as the waters cover the sea.
10 In die illa radix Iesse stat in signum populorum; ipsam gentes requirent, et erit sedes eius gloriosa.	10 That day, the root of Jesse, standing as a signal for the peoples, will be sought out by the nations andits home will be glorious.
11 Et erit in die illa: rursus extendet Dominus manum suam ad possidendum residuum populi sui, quod relictum erit ab Assyria et ab Aegypto et a Phatros et ab Aethiopia et ab Elam et a Sennaar et ab Emath et ab insulis maris;	11 When that day comes, the Lord wil raise his hand a second time to ransom the remnant of his people,those stil left, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, Cush and Elam, from Shinar, Hamath and the islands ofthe Sea.
12 et levabit signum in nationes et congregabit profugos Israel et dispersos Iudae colliget a quattuor plagis terrae.	12 He wil hoist a signal for the nations and assemble the outcasts of Israel; he wil gather the scatteredpeople of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
13 Et auferetur zelus Ephraim, et hostes Iudae abscindentur; Ephraim non aemulabitur Iudam, et Iudas non pugnabit contra Ephraim.	13 Then Ephraim's jealousy wil cease and Judah's enemies be suppressed; Ephraim wil no longer bejealous of Judah nor Judah any longer hostile to Ephraim,
14 Et volabunt in umeros Philisthim ad mare, simul praedabuntur filios orientis: in Edom et Moab extendent manus suas, et filii Ammon oboedient eis.	14 but together they will swoop on the Philistines' back, to the west, and together pil age the people ofthe east. Edom and Moab wil be subject to their sway and the Ammonites wil obey them.
15 Et exsiccabit Dominus linguam maris Aegypti et levabit manum suam super flumen in fortitudine spiritus sui et percutiet illud in septem rivos, ita ut transire faciat eos calceatos.	15 Then Yahweh wil dry up the gulf of the Sea of Egypt, he will raise his hand against the River with theheat of his breath. He wil divide it into seven streams for them to cross dry-shod.
16 Et erit via residuo populo meo, qui relinquetur ab Assyria, sicut fuit Israeli in die illa, qua ascendit de terra Aegypti.	16 And there wil be a highway for the remnant of his people for those stil left, from Assyria, as there wasfor Israel when he came out of Egypt.
