Seconda lettera ai Tessalonicesi 3

1 Del resto, o fratelli, pregate per noi affinchè la parola di Dio si propaghi e sia glorificata come fra voi,	1 Final y, brothers, pray for us that the Lord's message may spread quickly, and be received with honouras it was among you;
2 e siamo liberati dai protervi e dagli uomini cattivi, perchè non tutti hanno la fede.	2 and pray that we may be preserved from bigoted and evil people, for not everyone has faith.
3 Ma Dio è fedele, e vi conforterà e vi difenderà dal maligno.	3 You can rely on the Lord, who wil give you strength and guard you from the evil One,
4 Or riguardo a voi, abbiamo fiducia nel Signore che fate e farete quanto vi ordiniamo.	4 and we, in the Lord, have every confidence in you, that you are doing and wil go on doing al that wetel you.
5 Il Signore poi dirige i vostri cuori nell'amore di Dio e nella pazienza di Cristo.	5 May the Lord turn your hearts towards the love of God and the perseverance of Christ.
6 Vi prescriviamo poi, o fratelli, nel nome del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo di tenervi lontani da qualunque fratello che vive disordinatamente e non secondo la dottrina che ha da noi ricevuta.	6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge you, brothers, to keep away from any of the brothers wholives an undisciplined life, not in accordance with the tradition you received from us.
7 E voi stessi ben sapete che dobbiate fare per imitarci; perchè tra di voi non vivemmo disordinatamente,	7 You know how you should take us as your model: we were not undisciplined when we were with you,
8 nè mangiammo a ufo il pane di nessuno, ma con fatica e stenti abbiamo lavorato giorno e notte, per non essere d'aggravio ad alcuno di voi.	8 nor did we ever accept food from anyone without paying for it; no, we worked with unsparing energy,night and day, so as not to be a burden on any of you.
9 E ciò non perchè non ne avessimo il diritto, ma per darvi in noi stessi un modello da imitare.	9 This was not because we had no right to be, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to imitate.
10 Ed anche quando eravamo fra voi vi davamo questo precetto: chi non vuol lavorare, non mangi.	10 We urged you when we were with you not to let anyone eat who refused to work.
11 Noi però abbiamo sentito dire esservi tra voi alcuni che vivono disordinatamente, senza far nulla, o affaccendati in cose vane.	11 Now we hear that there are some of you who are living lives without any discipline, doing no workthemselves but interfering with other people's.
12 Or a questi tali prescriviamo, scongiurandoli nel Signore Gesù Cristo, di guadagnarsi il pane che mangiano lavorando tranquillamente.	12 In the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge and cal on people of this kind to go on quietly working and earningthe food that they eat.
13 Ma voi, fratelli, non vi stancate di fare il bene.	13 My brothers, never slacken in doing what is right.
14 E se qualcuno non ubbidisce a quanto diciamo in questa lettera, notatelo e non abbiate con lui relazione, affinchè si vergogni.	14 If anyone refuses to obey what I have written in this letter, take note of him and have nothing to dowith him, so that he wil be ashamed of himself,
15 Non lo riguardate però come nemico, ma correggetelo come fratello.	15 though you are not to treat him as an enemy, but to correct him as a brother.
16 Il Signore stesso della pace vi doni la pace in ogni tempo e in ogni luogo. Il Signore sia con tutti voi.	16 May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at al times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.
17 Il saluto è di mia propria mano, di me, Paolo; ed è come il sigillo in ogni mia lettera. Io scrivo così.	17 This greeting is in my own hand-PAUL. It is the mark of genuineness in every letter; this is my own writing.
18 La grazia del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo sia con voi tutti. Cosi sia.	18 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
