| 1 Il Signore parlò a Mose, dicendo: | 1 The LORD said to Moses, |
| 2 Dirai ai figli d'Israele: Chiunque dei figli d'Israele o dei forestieri che abitano in Israele darà dei suoi figlioli a Moloc, sarà messo a morte e il popolo del paese lo lapiderà. | 2 "Say to the people of Israel, Any man of the people of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, who gives any of his children to Molech shall be put to death; the people of the land shall stone him with stones. |
| 3 E anch'io metterò la mia faccia contro di lui, e lo schianterò di mezzo al suo popolo, perchè ha dato dei suoi figli a Moloc, ha contaminato il mio Santuario, ha profanato il mio santo nome. | 3 I myself will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people, because he has given one of his children to Molech, defiling my sanctuary and profaning my holy name. |
| 4 E se il popolo del paese, trascurando e facendo poco conto del mio comando, lascerà libero l'uomo che ha dato dei suoi figli a Moloc, e non lo mette a morte, | 4 And if the people of the land do at all hide their eyes from that man, when he gives one of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death, |
| 5 io metterò la mia faccia contro quell'uomo, contro la sua parentela, e schianterò di mezzo al popolo lui e tutti quelli che hanno acconsentito a farlo fornicare con Moloc. | 5 then I will set my face against that man and against his family, and will cut them off from among their people, him and all who follow him in playing the harlot after Molech. |
| 6 Se uno si rivolgerà ai maghi e agli indovini e fornicherà con essi, io rivolterò contro di lui la mia faccia e lo sterminerò di mezzo al suo popolo. | 6 "If a person turns to mediums and wizards, playing the harlot after them, I will set my face against that person, and will cut him off from among his people. |
| 7 Santificatevi adunque e siate santi, perchè io sono il Signore Dio vostro. | 7 Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am the LORD your God. |
| 8 Osservate i miei precetti e metteteli in pratica. Io sono il Signore che vi santifico. | 8 Keep my statutes, and do them; I am the LORD who sanctify you. |
| 9 Chi avrà maledetto suo padre o sua madre sia punito di morte: ha maledetto il padre e la madre: il suo sangue sia sopra di lui. | 9 For every one who curses his father or his mother shall be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother, his blood is upon him. |
| 10 Se uno fornicherà colla donna d'un altro e commetterà adulterio colla moglie del suo prossimo, sian messi a morte adultero e adultera. | 10 "If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death. |
| 11 Se uno, scoprendo così l'ignominia di suo padre, peccherà colla matrigna, sian messi a morte ambedue, e il loro sangue sia sopra di essi. | 11 The man who lies with his father's wife has uncovered his father's nakedness; both of them shall be put to death, their blood is upon them. |
| 12 Se uno pecca colla sua nuora, siano messi a morte ambedue, perché han fatto una cosa scellerata, e il loro sangue sia sopra di essi. | 12 If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall be put to death; they have committed incest, their blood is upon them. |
| 13 Se uno pecca con un maschio come se questo fosse una donna, avendo tutt'e due fatta una cosa esecranda, sian puniti di morte, e il loro sangue sia sopra di essi. | 13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them. |
| 14 Chi fa la sceleraggine di sposare anche la madre, dopo avere sposata la figlia, sarà bruciato vivo con esse, nè si tollererà tra voi tanta sceleratezza. | 14 If a man takes a wife and her mother also, it is wickedness; they shall be burned with fire, both he and they, that there may be no wickedness among you. |
| 15 Chi pecca con un animale sia messo a morte e sia ucciso anche l'animale. | 15 If a man lies with a beast, he shall be put to death; and you shall kill the beast. |
| 16 La donna che peccherà con un animale, sarà messa a morte con esso, e il loro sangue sia sopra di essi. | 16 If a woman approaches any beast and lies with it, you shall kill the woman and the beast; they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them. |
| 17 Se uno prende la sua sorella, figlia di suo padre o di sua madre, e ne vede la nudità ed essa guarda la nudità del suo fratello, han fatto una cosa esecranda: saranno uccisi alla presenza del loro popolo, perchè hanno scambievolmente scoperta la loro nudità, e porteranno la loro iniquità. | 17 "If a man takes his sister, a daughter of his father or a daughter of his mother, and sees her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness, it is a shameful thing, and they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people; he has uncovered his sister's nakedness, he shall bear his iniquity. |
| 18 Chi s'accosta ad una donna che ha i suoi corsi e scopre la nudità di lei, ed essa fa vedere il flusso del sangue, ambedue saranno sterminati di mezzo al loro popolo. | 18 If a man lies with a woman having her sickness, and uncovers her nakedness, he has made naked her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood; both of them shall be cut off from among their people. |
| 19 Non scoprirai la nudità della tua zia materna o paterna: chi fa questo scopre l'ignominia della sua carne; e tutt'e due porteranno la loro iniquità. | 19 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister or of your father's sister, for that is to make naked one's near kin; they shall bear their iniquity. |
| 20 Se uno pecca colla moglie del suo zio paterno o materno e scopre così l'ignominia della sua parentela, ambedue porteranno il loro peccato: morranno senza figli. | 20 If a man lies with his uncle's wife, he has uncovered his uncle's nakedness; they shall bear their sin, they shall die childless. |
| 21 Chi sposa la moglie, di suo fratello fa cosa illecita: ha rivelato l'ignominia di suo fratello: non avranno figli. | 21 If a man takes his brother's wife, it is impurity; he has uncovered his brother's nakedness, they shall be childless. |
| 22 Osservate le mie leggi, i miei comandamenti e metteteli in pratica, affinché la terra ove entrerete per abitarvi, non vomiti anche voi. | 22 "You shall therefore keep all my statutes and all my ordinances, and do them; that the land where I am bringing you to dwell may not vomit you out. |
| 23 Non fate secondo i costumi delle nazioni che sto per cacciare dal vostro cospetto. Siccome han commesso tutte queste cose, io le ho avute in abbominio, | 23 And you shall not walk in the customs of the nation which I am casting out before you; for they did all these things, and therefore I abhorred them. |
| 24 e dico a voi: Possedete la loro terra che io vi darò in eredità, terra che stilla latte e miele. Io sono il Signore vostro Dio che vi ho separati da tutti gli altri popoli. | 24 But I have said to you, 'You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey.' I am the LORD your God, who have separated you from the peoples. |
| 25 Così voi separerete la bestia monda dall'immonda, l'uccello puro dall'impuro: non contaminate le vostre anime mangiando animali, uccelli, o esseri striscianti sopra la, terra, e che io vi ho dichiarato immondi. | 25 You shall therefore make a distinction between the clean beast and the unclean, and between the unclean bird and the clean; you shall not make yourselves abominable by beast or by bird or by anything with which the ground teems, which I have set apart for you to hold unclean. |
| 26 Voi mi sarete santi, perchè io, il Signore, sono santo, e vi ho separati da tutti gli altri popoli, perchè foste miei. | 26 You shall be holy to me; for I the LORD am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine. |
| 27 L'uomo o la donna che ha lo spirito pitonico o di divinazione, sian messi a morte, sian lapidati; e il loro sangue sia sopra di essi ». | 27 "A man or a woman who is a medium or a wizard shall be put to death; they shall be stoned with stones, their blood shall be upon them." |
