Deuteronomio 18

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - I sacerdoti e i leviti, e tutti quelli della loro tribù, non avranno parte o possessione come il rimanente popolo d'Israele, perchè vivono dei sacrifizi e delle offerte del Signore;	1 'The levitical priests, the whole tribe of Levi wil be without share or heritage of their own in Israel; theywil live on the foods offered to Yahweh and on his heritage.
2 perciò, non riceveranno altro di sulle terre de' loro fratelli; il Signore stesso è la loro eredità, come ha detto loro.	2 Levi wil have no heritage of his own among his brothers; Yahweh will be his heritage, as he haspromised him.
3 Questo è il diritto de' sacerdoti sul popolo, e su quelli che offrono sacrifizi: sia che immolino un bove o una pecora, daranno al sacerdote la spalla ed il ventricolo,	3 'This is what is due to the priests from the people, from those who offer an ox or a sheep in sacrifice:the priest must be given the shoulder, the cheeks and the stomach.
4 le primizie del grano, del vino e dell'olio, e la parte sulla lana alla tosatura delle pecore.	4 You must give him the first-fruits of your wheat, of your new wine and of your oil, as wel as the first-fruits of your sheep-shearing.
5 Lui infatti elesse il Signore Dio tuo di fra tutte le sue tribù, perchè stia a servire il nome del Signore, egli ed i figli suoi in perpetuo.	5 For Yahweh your God has chosen him from all your tribes to stand before Yahweh your God, to do theduties of the sacred ministry, and to bless in Yahweh's name -- him and his sons for al time.
6 Se un levita uscirà da una delle città che sono destinate in tutto Israele a sua abitazione, e per amore al luogo che il Signore avrà eletto vorrà venirvi,	6 'If a Levite living in one of your towns anywhere in Israel decides to move to the place chosen byYahweh,
7 presterà servizio nel nome del Signore Dio suo, come tutti gli altri suoi fratelli leviti che staranno allora dinanzi al Signore.	7 he shal minister there in the name of Yahweh his God like al his fel ow Levites who stand ministering there in the presence of Yahweh,
8 Riceverà sui sacrifizi la stessa parte che gli altri, non contando quello che nella sua città gli spetta dell'eredità di suo padre.	8 eating equal shares with them -- what he has from the sale of his patrimony notwithstanding.
9 Quando sarai entrato nella terra che il Signore Dio tuo ti darà, guardati dall'imitare le abominazioni di que' popoli.	9 'When you have entered the country given you by Yahweh your God, you must not learn to imitate thedetestable practices of the nations there already.
10 Non si trovi in te chi pretenda purificar il figlio suo o la figlia facendoli passar per il fuoco, o chi interroghi gli stregoni, o guardi ai sogni ed ai presagi; non vi sia chi faccia sortilegi	10 There must never be anyone among you who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire ofsacrifice, who practises divination, who is soothsayer, augur or sorcerer,
11 o incantesimi, nè chi consulti i maghi o gl'indovini, o cerchi sapere dai morti la verità.	11 weaver of spells, consulter of ghosts or mediums, or necromancer.
12 Tutte queste cose, il Signore le ha in abominazione, e per queste tali scelleratezze distruggerà quei popoli al tuo arrivo.	12 For anyone who does these things is detestable to Yahweh your God; it is because of thesedetestable practices that Yahweh your God is driving out these nations before you.
13 Sarai senza colpa e senza macchia rispetto al Signore Dio tuo.	13 'You must be faultless in your relationship with Yahweh your God.
14 Queste nazioni, la cui terra tu possederai, dan retta agli aùguri ed agl'indovini; ma tu fosti educato ben altrimenti dal Signore Dio tuo.	14 For these nations whom you are going to dispossess have listened to soothsayers and mediums, butYahweh your God does not permit you to do this. From among yourselves, from among your own brothers,
15 Il Signore Dio tuo susciterà per te un profeta della tua nazione e de' tuoi fratelli, come me. Lui ascolta,	15 Yahweh your God will raise up a prophet like me; you wil listen to him.
16 come chiedesti al Signore Dio tuo sull'Horeb, quand'era convocata l'assemblea, e dicesti: - Non ascolterò più la voce del Signore Dio mio, nè vedrò più questo sì gran fuoco, per non morirne. -	16 This is exactly what you asked Yahweh your God to do -- at Horeb, on the day of the Assembly,when you said, "Never let me hear the voice of Yahweh my God or see this great fire again, or I shal die."
17 Ed il Signore mi disse: - Hanno parlato bene in tutto.	17 Then Yahweh said to me,
18 Farò sorgere per loro, di mezzo ai loro fratelli, un profeta simile a te; porrò nella sua bocca le mie parole, e dirà ad essi tutto quello che io comanderò.	18 "What they have said is wel said. From their own brothers I shal raise up a prophet like yourself;
19 Se qualcuno non vorrà dar ascolto alle parole ch'egli dirà in nome mio, ne farò io la vendetta.	19 I shal put my words into his mouth and he wil tel them everything I command him. Anyone whorefuses to listen to my words, spoken by him in my name, wil have to render an account to me.
20 Il profeta poi che pieno di prava arroganza vorrà dire nel nome mio quel ch'io non gli ho comandato di dire, o [lo dirà] nel nome di dèi stranieri, sarà messo a morte. -	20 But the prophet who presumes to say something in my name which I have not commanded him tosay, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die."
21 Che se dentro di te tu dirai: - Come posso io riconoscere esser quello un discorso che il Signore non ha pronunziato? -	21 'You may be privately wondering, "How are we to tel that a prophecy does not come from Yahweh?"
22 avrai questo segno: quello che tal profeta abbia predetto nel nome del Signore, e non si sia poi avverato, non l'aveva già detto il Signore, ma se l'era inventato nella sua superbia quel profeta; perciò non ne avrai timore.	22 When a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh and the thing does not happen and the word is notfulfil ed, then it has not been said by Yahweh. The prophet has spoken presumptuously. You have nothing tofear from him.'
