Amos 5

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Udite questa parola ch'io alzo sopra di voi quale lamento, o casa d'Israele: È caduta, nè tornerà a sorgere,	1 Listen to this word which I utter against you, it is a dirge, House of Israel:
2 la vergine d'Israele; è prostesa sulla sua terranè v'è chi la rialzi! -	2 She has fal en down, never to rise again, the virgin Israel. There she lies on her own soil, with no oneto lift her up.
3 Perchè così dice il Signore Dio: - La città onde ne uscivan mille, resterà con cento; e quella donde ne uscivan cento resterà con dieci nella casa di Israele. -	3 For Lord Yahweh says this: The town which used to put a thousand in the field wil be left with ahundred, and the one which used to put a hundred will be left with ten, to fight for the House of Israel.
4 Perchè così dice il Signore alla casa di Israele: - Cercate me e vivrete,	4 For Yahweh says this to the House of Israel: Seek me out and you wil survive,
5 e non cercate Betel, e in Galgala non vi recate, e a Bersabee non passate; perchè Galgala sarà ridotta in schiavitù e Betel ridotta al niente.	5 but do not seek out Bethel, do not go to Gilgal, do not journey to Beersheba, for Gilgal is going intocaptivity and Bethel will be brought to nothing.
6 Cercate il Signore e vivrete, affinchè la casa di Giuseppe non divampi come un incendio e il fuoco non divori Betel, senza più chi lo estingua.	6 Seek out Yahweh and you wil survive or else he wil sweep like fire upon the House of Joseph andburn it down, with no one at Bethel able to quench the flames.
7 O voi che tramutate il giudizio in assenzio e lasciate la giustizia prostrata per terra!	7 They turn justice into wormwood and throw uprightness to the ground.

12 Perchè ho conosciuto le molte scelleraggini vostre e gli enormi vostri peccati, o nemici del giusto, accattatori di doni e oppressori del povero alla porta. -	12 for I know how many your crimes are and how outrageous your sins, you oppressors of the upright,who hold people to ransom and thrust the poor aside at the gates.
13 Perciò l'uomo prudente in quel tempo ammutolirà, perchè è un tempo cattivo.	13 That is why anyone prudent keeps silent now, since the time is evil.
14 Cercate il bene e non il male, affinchè viviate e il Signore degli eserciti sarà con voi, così come avete detto.	14 Seek good and not evil so that you may survive, and Yahweh, God Sabaoth, be with you as you claimhe is.

E inviteranno al compianto il contadino, e al lamento gli ammaestrati a piangere.	16 Therefore Yahweh Sabaoth, the Lord, says this: In every public square there wil be lamentation, inevery street they will cry out, 'Alas! Alas!' The farmer wil be called on to mourn, the professional mourners tolament,
17 E per tutte le vigne vi sarà pianto, perchè passerò in mezzo a te, dice il Signore.	17 and there wil be wailing in every vineyard, for I mean to pass through among you, Yahweh says.
18 Guai a quelli che desiderano il giorno del Signore! A che pro questo per voi? Il giorno del Signore sarà tenebre e non luce.	18 Disaster for you who long for the Day of Yahweh! What will the Day of Yahweh mean for you? It wilmean darkness, not light,

21 Ho odiato e rigettato le vostre feste e non gradirò il profumo delle vostre adunanze.	21 I hate, I scorn your festivals, I take no pleasure in your solemn assemblies.
22 E sebbene mi offrirete i vostri olocausti e i vostri doni, non li accetterò, e ai voti delle pingui vostre vittime non guarderò.	22 When you bring me burnt offerings . . . your oblations, I do not accept them and I do not look at yourcommunion sacrifices of fat cattle.
23 Togli da me il frastuono dei tuoi cantici; le melodie delle tue arpe non le voglio udire,	23 Spare me the din of your chanting, let me hear none of your strumming on lyres,
24 e si dimostri, quale una piena d'acque, il giudizio, e la giustizia, come torrente impetuoso.	24 but let justice flow like water, and uprightness like a never-failing stream!
25 Che vittime e che sacrifizi offriste per quarant'anni nel deserto a me, casa d'Israele?	25 Did you bring me sacrifices and oblations those forty years in the desert, House of Israel?
26 Voi portaste il tabernacolo del vostro Moloc, il simulacro dei vostri idoli, il pianeta del vostro dio che vi eravate fabbricato da voi.	26 Now you must shoulder Sakkuth your king and the star of your God, Kaiwan, those idols you made foryourselves;
