1 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen dicens:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
2 “ Praecipe fi liis Israel et dices ad eos: Cum ingressi fueritis terram hanc Chanaan, et in possessionem vobis sorte ceciderit, his finibus terminabitur.	2 'Give the Israelites this order. Say: "When you enter the country (Canaan), this will be the countrywhich forms your heritage. This is Canaan as defined by its boundaries:
3 Pars meridiana incipiet a solitudine Sin, quae est iuxta Edom, et habebit terminos contra orientem mare Salsissimum.	3 "The southern part of your country wil start from the desert of Zin, on the borders of Edom. Yoursouthern boundary wil start on the east at the end of the Salt Sea.
4 Qui circuibunt australem plagam per ascensum Acrabbim (id est Scorpionum), ita ut transeant in Sin et perveniant ad meridiem Cadesbarne, unde egredientur ad Asaraddar et tendent usque ad Asemona.	4 It wil then turn south towards the Ascent of the Scorpions and go by Zin to end in the south atKadesh-Barnea. It wil then run towards Hazar-Addar and pass through Azmon.
5 Ibitque per gyrum terminus ab Asemona usque ad torrentem Aegypti, et maris Magni litore finietur.	5 From Azmon the boundary wil turn towards the Torrent of Egypt and end at the Sea.
6 Plaga autem occidentalis a mari Magno incipiet et ipso fine claudetur.	6 "Your seaboard wil be on the Great Sea; this will be your western boundary.
7 Porro ad septentrionalem plagam a mari Magno termini incipient pervenientes usque ad montem Hor,	7 "Your northern boundary wil be as fol ows: you wil draw a line from the Great Sea to Mount Hor,
8 a quo venient in introitum Emath usque ad terminos Sedada.	8 then from Mount Hor you wil draw a line to the Pass of Hamath, and the boundary will end at Zedad.
9 Ibuntque confinia usque ad Zephrona et Asarenon. Hi erunt termini in parte aquilonis.	9 From there it wil run on to Ziphron and end at Hazar-Enan. This wil be your northern boundary.
10 Inde metabuntur fines contra orientalem plagam de Asarenon usque Sephama;	10 "You will then draw your eastern boundary from Hazar-Enan to Shepham.
11 et de Sephama descendent termini in Rebla ad orientem Ain; inde descendent et pervenient ad latus maris Chenereth in oriente	11 The boundary wil run down from Shepham towards Riblah on the east side of Ain. Further down itwil keep to the eastern shore of the Sea of Chinnereth.
12 et tendent usque ad Iordanem, et ad ultimum Salsissimo claudentur mari. Hanc habebitis terram per fines suos in circuitu ”.	12 The frontier wil then fol ow the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea. "Such wil be your country with theboundaries surrounding it." '
13 Praecepitque Moyses filiis Israel dicens: “ Haec erit terra, quam possidebitis sorte et quam iussit Dominus dari novem tribubus et dimidiae tribui.	13 Moses then gave the Israelites this order: 'This is the country, where your heritages wil be assignedby lot, and which Yahweh has ordered to be given to the nine tribes and the half-tribe,
14 Tribus enim filiorum Ruben per familias suas et tribus filiorum Gad iuxta cognationum numerum media quoque tribus Manasse,	14 for the tribe of the Reubenites with their families and the tribe of the Gadites with their families havealready received their heritage; the half-tribe of Manasseh has also received its heritage.
15 id est duae semis tribus, acceperunt partem suam trans Iordanem contra Iericho ad orientalem plagam ”.	15 These two tribes and the half-tribe have received their heritage on the other side of the Jordan byJericho, to the east, towards the sunrise.'
16 Et ait Dominus ad Moysen:	16 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
17 “ Haec sunt nomina virorum, qui terram vobis divident: Eleazar sacerdos et Iosue filius Nun	17 'Here are the names of the men who wil divide the country up for you: the priest Eleazar andJoshua son of Nun,
18 et singuli principes de tribubus singulis,	18 and you wil take one leader from each tribe to divide the country up into heritages.
19 quorum ista sunt vocabula: de tribu Iudae Chaleb filius Iephonne;	19 Here are the names of these men: 'For the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;
20 de tribu Simeon Samuel filius Ammiud;	20 'for the tribe of the Simeonites, Shemuel son of Ammihud;
21 de tribu Beniamin Elidad filius Chaselon;	21 'for the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;
22 de tribu filiorum Dan Bocci filius Iogli.	22 'for the tribe of the Danites, the leader Bukki son of Jogli;
23 Filiorum Ioseph: de tribu Manasse Hanniel filius Ephod,	23 'for the sons of Joseph: for the tribe of Manasseh, the leader Hanniel son of Ephod;
24 de tribu Ephraim Camuel filius Sephtan.	24 'for the tribe of the Ephraimites, the leader Kemuel son of Shiphtan;
25 De tribu Zabulon Elisaphan filius Pharnach;	25 'for the tribe of the Zebulunites, the leader Elizaphan son of Parnach;
26 de tribu Issachar dux Phaltiel filius Ozan;	26 'for the tribe of the Issacharites, the leader Paltiel son of Azzan;
27 de tribu Aser Ahiud filius Salomi;	27 'for the tribe of the Asherites, the leader Ahihud son of Shelomi;
28 de tribu Nephthali Phedael filius Ammiud ”.	28 'for the tribe of the Naphtalites, the leader Pedahel son of Ammihud.'
29 Hi sunt, quibus praecepit Dominus, ut dividerent filiis Israel terram Chanaan.	29 These were the men whom Yahweh ordered to divide Canaan into heritages for the Israelites.
