Ezechiele 35

NOVA VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Et factus est sermo Domini ad me dicens:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 “ Fili hominis, pone faciemtuam adversum montem Seir et propheta de eo et dices illi:	2 'Son of man, turn towards Mount Seir and prophesy against it.
3 Haec dicit DominusDeus: Ecce ego ad te, mons Seir; et extendam manum meam super te et dabo te desolatum atque desertum.	3 Say to it, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am against you, Mount Seir; I shall stretch out my handagainst you; I shal make you a desolate waste;
4 Urbes tuas demoliar, et tu desertus eris et scies quia ego Dominus.	4 I shal lay your towns in ruins. You wil become a waste and you wil know that I am Yahweh.
5 Eo quod fueris inimicus sempiternus et concluseris filios Israel in manusgladii in tempore afflictionis eorum, in tempore poenae extremae;	5 Since, fol owing a long-standing hatred, you betrayed the Israelites to the sword on the day of theirdistress, on the day when an end came for their guilt,
6 propterea,vivo ego, dicit Dominus Deus, sanguini tradam te, et sanguis te persequetur et,cum sanguinem non oderis, sanguis persequetur te.	6 very wel , as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I destine you to bloodshed, and bloodshed wilpursue you. I swear it; you have incurred guilt by shedding blood, and bloodshed will pursue you.
7 Et dabo montem Seirdesolatum atque desertum et auferam de eo euntem et redeuntem	7 I shal make Mount Seir a desolate waste and denude it of anyone travel ing to and fro.
8 et implebomontes eius occisorum suorum, in collibus tuis et in vallibus tuis, atque inomnibus torrentibus tuis interfecti gladio cadent.	8 I shal fil its mountains with its slaughtered; on your hills, in your val eys and in all your ravines, thoseslaughtered by the sword will fal .
9 In solitudines sempiternastradam te, et civitates tuae non habitabuntur, et scietis quoniam ego Dominus.	9 I shal make you a perpetual waste, your towns wil never be inhabited again, and you wil know that Iam Yahweh.
10 Eo quod dixeris: “Duae gentes et duae terrae meae erunt, et hereditatepossidebo eas!”, cum Dominus esset ibi;	10 "Since you said: The two nations and the two countries wil be mine; we are going to take possessionof it, although Yahweh was there,
11 propterea, vivo ego, dicit DominusDeus, faciam iuxta iram tuam et secundum zelum tuum, quem fecisti odio habenseos, et notus efficiar in eis, cum te iudicavero.	11 very well, as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I shal act with the same anger and jealousy as youacted in your hatred for them. I shall make myself known for their sake, when I punish you,
12 Et scies quia ego Dominusaudivi universa opprobria tua, quae locutus es de montibus Israel dicens: “Desertinobis ad devorandum dati sunt!”.	12 and you wil know that I, Yahweh, have heard al the blasphemies which you have uttered against themountains of Israel, such as: They have been laid waste, they have been given to us for us to devour.
13 Et insurrexistis super me ore vestro etvociferati estis vobis adversum me verba vestra; ego audivi.	13 Great was your insolence towards me, many your speeches against me; I have heard!
14 Haec dicit Dominus Deus: Laetante universa terra, in solitudinem te redigam;	14 Lord Yahweh says this: To the joy of the whole world, I shal make you a waste.
15 sicuti gavisus es super hereditatem domus Israel, eo quod fuerit dissipata,sic faciam tibi: dissipatus eris, mons Seir, et Idumaea omnis, et scient quiaego Dominus.	15 Since you rejoiced because the heritage of the House of Israel had been laid waste, I shal do thesame to you, Mount Seir; and you wil become a waste, and so wil the whole of Edom; and they will know that Iam Yahweh.' "
