1 Facies quoque altare ad adolendum thymiama de lignis acaciae	1 'You will make an altar on which to burn incense; you wil make it of acacia wood,
2 habens cubitum longitudinis et alterum latitudinis, id est quadrangulum, et duos cubitos in altitudine; cornua ex ipso procedent.	2 one cubit long, and one cubit wide -- it must be square -- and two cubits high; its horns must be of apiece with it.
3 Vestiesque illud auro purissimo, tam craticulam eius quam parietes per circuitum et cornua. Faciesque ei coronam aureolam per gyrum	3 You will overlay its top, its sides all round and its horns with pure gold and make a gold moulding to goal round.
4 et duos anulos aureos sub corona in duobus lateribus, ut mittantur in eos vectes, et altare portetur.	4 You will make two gold rings for it below the moulding on its two opposite sides, to take the shaftsused for carrying it.
5 Ipsos quoque vectes facies de lignis acaciae et inaurabis.	5 You will make the shafts of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.
6 Ponesque altare contra velum, quod ante arcam pendet testimonii, coram propitiatorio, quo tegitur testimonium, ubi conveniam ad te.	6 'You will put it in front of the curtain by the ark of Testimony, in front of the mercy-seat which is on theTestimony, where I shal meet you.
7 Et adolebit incensum super eo Aaron suave fragrans mane. Quando componet lucernas, incendet illud;	7 On it Aaron wil burn fragrant incense each morning; when he trims the lamps, he will burn incense onit;
8 et quando collocabit eas ad vesperum, uret thymiama sempiternum coram Domino in generationes vestras.	8 and when Aaron puts back the lamps at twilight, he will burn incense on it, incense perpetual y beforeYahweh for all your generations to come.
9 Non offeretis super eo thymiama compositionis alterius nec holocaustum nec oblationem, nec libabitis libamina.	9 You will not offer unauthorised incense, or burnt offering, or cereal offering on it, and you will not pourany libation over it.
10 Et expiabit Aaron super cornua eius semel per annum in sanguine sacrificii pro peccato; et placabit super eo in generationibus vestris: sanctum sanctorum erit Domino ”.	10 Once a year, Aaron wil perform the rite of expiation on the horns of the altar; once a year, on the Dayof Expiation, with the blood of the sacrifice for sin, he wil make expiation for himself, for al your generations tocome. It is especial y holy for Yahweh.'
11 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen dicens:	11 Yahweh then spoke to Moses and said,
12 “ Quando tuleris summam filiorum Israel iuxta numerum, dabunt singuli pretium expiationis pro animabus suis Domino; et non erit plaga in eis, cum fuerint recensiti.	12 'When you count the Israelites by census, each one of them must pay Yahweh a ransom for his life,to avoid any incidence of plague among them while you are holding the census.
13 Hoc autem dabit omnis, qui transit ad censum, dimidium sicli iuxta mensuram sanctuarii ­ siclus viginti obolos habet ­; media pars sicli offeretur Domino.	13 Everyone subject to the census wil pay half a shekel, reckoning by the sanctuary shekel: twentygerah to the shekel. This half-shekel will be set aside for Yahweh.
14 Qui habetur in numero a viginti annis et supra, dabit pretium;	14 Everyone subject to the census, that is to say of twenty years and over, will pay the sum set aside forYahweh.
15 dives non addet ad medium sicli, et pauper nihil minuet, quando dabitis oblationem Domino in expiationem animarum vestrarum.	15 The rich man must not give more, nor the poor man less, than half a shekel when he pays the sumset aside for Yahweh in ransom for your lives.
16 Susceptamque expiationis pecuniam, quae collata est a filiis Israel, trades in usus tabernaculi conventus, ut sit monumentum eorum coram Domino et propitietur animabus illorum ”.	16 You wil take the ransom money of the Israelites and apply it to the service of the Tent of Meeting, forit to be a reminder of the Israelites before Yahweh, as the ransom for your lives.'
17 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen dicens:	17 Yahweh then spoke to Moses and said,
18 “ Facies et labrum aeneum cum basi aenea ad lavandum; ponesque illud inter tabernaculum conventus et altare. Et, missa aqua,	18 'You wil also make a bronze basin on its bronze stand, for washing. You wil put it between the Tentof Meeting and the altar and put water in it,
19 lavabunt in eo Aaron et filii eius manus suas ac pedes.	19 in which Aaron and his sons wil wash their hands and feet.
20 Quando ingressuri sunt tabernaculum conventus, lavabunt se aqua, ne moriantur; vel quando accessuri sunt ad altare, ut ministrent, ut adoleant victimam Domino.	20 Whenever they are to enter the Tent of Meeting, they wil wash, to avoid incurring death; andwhenever they approach the altar for their service, to burn an offering for Yahweh,
21 Et lavabunt manus et pedes, ne moriantur: legitimum sempiternum erit, ipsi et semini eius per successiones ”.	21 they wil wash their hands and feet, to avoid incurring death. This is a perpetual decree for him andhis descendants for all their generations to come.'
22 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen	22 Yahweh spoke further to Moses and said,
23 dicens: “ Sume tibi aromata prima myrrhae electae quingentos siclos et cinnamomi boni odoris medium, id est ducentos quinquaginta siclos, calami suave olentis similiter ducentos quinquaginta,	23 'Take the finest spices: five hundred shekels of fresh myrrh, half as much (two hundred and fiftyshekels) of fragrant cinnamon, two hundred and fifty shekels of scented reed,
24 casiae autem quingentos siclos, in pondere sanctuarii, olei de olivetis mensuram hin.	24 five hundred shekels (reckoning by the sanctuary shekel) of cassia, and one hin of olive oil.
25 Faciesque unctionis oleum sanctum, unguentum compositum opere unguentarii; unctionis oleum sanctum erit.	25 You wil make this into a holy anointing oil, such a blend as the perfumer might make; this wil be aholy anointing oil.
26 Et unges ex eo tabernaculum conventus et arcam testamenti	26 With it you wil anoint the Tent of Meeting and the ark of the Testimony,
27 mensamque cum vasis suis, candelabrum et utensilia eius, altaria thymiamatis	27 the table and al its accessories, the lamp-stand and its accessories, the altar of incense,
28 et holocausti et universam supellectilem, quae ad cultum eorum pertinet, et labrum cum basi sua.	28 the altar of burnt offerings and al its accessories, and the basin with its stand,
29 Sanctificabisque omnia, et erunt sancta sanctorum: qui tetigerit ea, sanctificabitur.	29 consecrating them, so that they wil be especial y holy and whatever touches them wil become holy.
30 Aaron et filios eius unges sanctificabisque eos, ut sacerdotio fungantur mihi.	30 You wil also anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them to be priests in my service.
31 Filiis quoque Israel dices: Hoc oleum unctionis sanctum erit mihi in generationes vestras.	31 You wil then speak to the Israelites and say, "This anointing oil wil be holy for you for al yourgenerations to come.
32 Caro hominis non ungetur ex eo, et iuxta compositionem eius non facietis aliud, quia sanctum est et sanctum erit vobis.	32 It must not be used for anointing the human body, nor may you make any of the same mixture. It is aholy thing; you wil regard it as holy.
33 Homo quicumque tale composuerit et dederit ex eo super alienum, exterminabitur de populo suo ”.	33 Anyone who makes up the same oil or uses it on an unauthorised person wil be outlawed from hispeople." '
34 Dixitque Dominus ad Moysen: “ Sume tibi aromata, stacten et onycha, galbanum boni odoris et tus lucidissimum; aequalis ponderis erunt omnia.	34 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Take sweet spices: storax, onycha, galbanum, sweet spices and purefrankincense in equal parts,
35 Faciesque thymiama compositum opere unguentarii, sale conditum et purum et sanctum.	35 and compound an incense, such a blend as the perfumer might make, salted, pure, and holy.
36 Cumque in tenuissimum pulverem ex parte contuderis, pones ex eo coram testimonio in tabernaculo conventus, in quo conveniam ad te: sanctum sanctorum erit vobis thymiama.	36 You wil grind some of this up very fine and put it in front of the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting,where I shal meet you. You wil regard it as especial y holy.
37 Talem compositionem non facietis in usus vestros, quia tibi sanctum erit pro Domino;	37 You may not make any incense of similar composition for your own use. You wil regard it as holy,reserved for Yahweh Anyone who makes up the same thing to use as perfume will be outlawed from his people.'
38 homo quicumque fecerit simile, ut odore illius perfruatur, peribit de populis suis ”.
