BIBBIA MARTINI	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 E il vecchio Tobia aperse la bocca benedicendo il Signore, e disse: Grande se' tu in eterno, o Signore, e il regno tuo è per tutti i secoli:	1 And Tobias the elder opening his mouth, blessed the Lord, and said: Thou art great, O Lord, for ever, and thy kingdom is unto all ages:
2 Perocchè tu flagelli, e salvi, e conduci al sepolcro, e risusciti, e nissun alla mano tua può sottrarsi.	2 For thou scourgest, and thou savest: thou leadest down to hell, and bringest up again: and there is none that can escape thy hand.
3 Date lode al Signore voi, figliuoli d'Israele, e celebrate lui nel cospetto delle nazioni:	3 Give glory to the Lord, ye children of Israel, and praise him in the sight of the Gentiles:
4 Perocchè per questo vi ha dispersi tralle genti, le quali non lo conoscono, affinchè voi raccontiate le sue meraviglie, e facciate loro conoscere, come altro Dio onnipotente non havvi fuori di lui.	4 Because he hath therefore scattered you among the Gentiles, who know not him, that you may declare his wonderful works, and make them know that there is no other almighty God besides him.
5 Egli ci ha gastigati per le nostre iniquità, ed egli ci salverà per sua misericordia.	5 He hath chastised us for our iniquities: and he will save us for his own mercy.
6 Ponetemente adunque a quel, ch'egli ha fatto con noi, e con timore, e tremore date a lui laude, e colle opere vostre onorate il Re de' secoli.	6 See then what he hath done with us, and with fear and trembling give ye glory to him: and extol the eternal King of worlds in your works.
7 E io nella terra di mio servaggio darò lode a lui, perchè egli la Maestà sua ha fatto risplendere sopra una nazion peccatrice.	7 As for me, I will praise him in the land of my captivity: because he hath shewn his majesty toward a sinful nation.
8 Convertitevi adunque, o peccatori, e siate giusti dinanzi a Dio, e crediate, che egli userà con voi di sua misericordia.	8 Be converted therefore, ye sinners, and do justice before God, believing that he will shew his mercy to you.
9 Ma io, e l'anima mia in lui avremo letizia.	9 And I and my soul will rejoice in him.
10 Benedite il Signore voi eletti suoi; sollennizzate i giorni di allegrezza, e date a lui lode.	10 Bless ye the Lord, all his elect, keep days of joy, and give glory to him.
11 Gerusalemme, città di Dio, il Signore ti gastigò per ragione delle opere di tue mani.	11 Jerusalem, city of God, the Lord hath chastised thee for the works of thy hands.
12 Dà tu lode al Signore pei beni tuoi, e benedici il Dio de' secoli, affinchè in te egli ristauri il suo tabernacolo, e ritorni a te tutti gli schiavi, e tu sii nel gaudio per tutti i secoli.	12 Give glory to the Lord for thy good things, and bless the God eternal, that he may rebuild his tabernacle in thee, and may call back all the captives to thee, and thou mayst rejoice for ever and ever.
13 Tu splenderai di luce sfolgoreggiante, e per tutti gli estremi confini della terra tu sarai adorata.	13 Thou shalt shine with a glorious light: and all the ends of the earth shall worship thee.
14 A te verranno le nazioni rimote, e porteranno dei doni, e adoreranno in te il Signore, e la tua terra avranno per santa.	14 Nations from afar shall come to thee: and shall bring gifts, and shall adore the Lord in thee, and shall esteem thy land as holy.
15 Perocchè dentro di te quelle invocheranno il nome grande.	15 For they shall call upon the great name in thee.
16 Quei, che ti sprezzeranno, saran maledetti, e saran condannati tutti quei, che diran male di te, e quelli, che ti edificheranno, saranno benedetti.	16 They shall be cursed that shall despise thee: and they shall be condemned that shall blaspheme thee: and blessed shall they be that shall build thee up.
17 E tu avrai letizia da' tuoi figliuoli, perocché saranno tutti benedetti, e si riuniranno col Signore.	17 But thou shalt rejoice in thy children, because they shall all be blessed, and shall be gathered together to the Lord.
18 Beati tutti quei, che ti amano, e fanno festa per la tua pace.	18 Blessed are all they that love thee, and that rejoice in thy peace.
19 Anima mia, benedici il Signore, perchè ha liberata Gerusalemme la sua città da tutte le fue afflizioni, il Signore Dio nostro.	19 My soul, bless thou the Lord, because the Lord our God hath delivered Jerusalem his city from all her troubles.
20 Beato me, se un avanzo della mia stirpe potrà vedere lo splendore di Gerusalemme.	20 Happy shall I be if there shall remain of my seed, to see the glory of Jerusalem.
21 Di zaffiri,e di smeraldi saran formate le porte di Gerusalemme, e tutto il recinto delle sue mura di pietre preziose.	21 The gates of Jerusalem shall be built of sapphire, and of emerald, and all the walls thereof round about of precious stones.
22 Di pietre candide, e pure saran lastricate tutte le piazze di lei, e nelle sue contrade canterassi alleluja.	22 All its streets shall be paved with white and clean stones: and Alleluia shall be sung in its streets.
23 Benedetto il Signore, che la ha esaltata, ed egli regni sopra di lei pe secoli de' secoli. Così sia.	23 Blessed be the Lord, who hath exalted it, and may he reign over it for ever and ever, Amen.
