Apocalisse 13

1 - E vidi una bestia salir su dal mare, che aveva sette teste e dieci corna, e nelle sue corna dieci corone, e sulle sue teste nomi di bestemmia.	1 And I saw a beast ascending from the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon its horns were ten diadems, and upon its heads were names of blasphemy.
2 E la bestia ch'io vidi, era simile a un leopardo, e i suoi piedi come piedi d'orso, e la sua bocca come bocca di leone. E le diede il drago la sua potenza [e il suo trono] e grande autorità.	2 And the beast that I saw was similar to a leopard, and its feet were like the feet of a bear, and its mouth was like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave his own power and great authority to it.
3 E una delle sue teste la vidi come ferita a morte: ma la sua piaga mortale fu guarita. E tutta la terra fu rapita d'ammirazione dietro la bestia.	3 And I saw that one of its heads seemed to be slain unto death, but his deadly wound was healed. And the entire world was in wonder following the beast.
4 E adorarono il drago, perchè aveva dato l'autorità alla bestia, e adorarono la bestia, dicendo: «Chi [è] simile alla bestia? e chi può guerreggiar con essa?».	4 And they worshiped the dragon, who gave authority to the beast. And they worshiped the beast, saying: “Who is like the beast? And who would be able to fight with it?”
5 E le fu data una bocca che proferiva vanterie e bestemmie, e le fu data facoltà d'agire per quarantadue mesi.	5 And there was given to it a mouth, speaking great things and blasphemies. And authority was given to him to act for forty-two months.
6 E aprì la sua bocca in bestemmie contro Dio, a bestemmiare il suo nome e il suo tabernacolo e quelli attendati nel cielo.	6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name and his tabernacle and those who dwell in heaven.
7 E le fu dato di far guerra ai santi e vincerli; e le fu data autorità sopra ogni tribù e popolo e lingua e nazione.	7 And it was given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given to him over every tribe and people and language and nation.
8 E l'adorarono tutti gli abitanti della terra, il cui nome non è scritto nel libro di vita dell'agnello sgozzato, fin dalla fondazione del mondo.	8 And all who inhabit the earth worshiped the beast, those whose names have not been written, from the origin of the world, in the Book of Life of the Lamb who was slain.
9 Se alcuno ha orecchio, ascolti.	9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
10 Se uno menerà [altri] in prigionia, va a finire in prigionia; se uno uccide con spada, bisogna che sia ucciso di spada. Qui sta la costanza e la fede de' santi.	10 Whoever will be led into captivity, into captivity he goes. Whoever will kill with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the patient endurance and faith of the Saints.
11 E vidi un'altra bestia che saliva dalla terra, e aveva due corna simili a [quelle d'un] agnello, e parlava come un drago.	11 And I saw another beast ascending from the land. And she had two horns like the Lamb, but she was speaking like the dragon.
12 E tutto il potere della prima bestia l'esercitava essa al cospetto di quella. E fece che la terra e i suoi abitanti adorassero la prima bestia, di cui era stata guarita la piaga mortale.	12 And she acted with all the authority of the first beast in his sight. And she caused the earth, and those dwelling in it, to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 E fece portenti grandiosi, sì da far scendere anche fuoco dal cielo sulla terra alla presenza degli uomini.	13 And she accomplished great signs, even so that she would cause fire to descend from the sky to the earth in the sight of men.
14 E sedusse gli abitanti della terra con portenti che le fu dato d'operare al cospetto della bestia, dicendo agli abitanti della terra di fare un'effigie alla bestia che ha la piaga della spada e ha ripreso vita.	14 And she seduced those living on the earth, by means of the signs that were given to her to perform in the sight of the beast, saying to those dwelling on the earth that they should make an image of the beast who had a wound of the sword and yet lived.
15 E le fu dato di dar spirito all'effigie della bestia, sì che l'effigie della bestia parlasse, e di far che quanti non avessero adorato l'effigie della bestia fossero uccisi.	15 And it was given to her to give a spirit to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would speak. And she acted so that whoever would not worship the image of the beast would be slain.
16 E farà che tutti, piccoli e grandi, ricchi e poveri, liberi e servi, ricevano un marchio nella loro mano destra o sulla lor fronte,	16 And she will cause everyone, small and great, wealthy and poor, free and servant, to have a character on their right hand or on their foreheads,
17 e che nessuno possa comprare o vendere, se non chi ha il marchio, il nome [cioè] della bestia o il numero del suo nome.	17 so that no one may buy or sell, unless he has the character, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Qui sta la sapienza! Chi ha intelligenza, calcoli il numero della bestia: è infatti un numero d'uomo, e il suo numero è seicentosessantasei.	18 Here is wisdom. Whoever has intelligence, let him determine the number of the beast. For it is the number of a man, and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.
