Apocalisse 12

1 - E un gran portento apparve nel cielo: una donna ravvolta nel sole, e la luna sotto i suoi piedi, e sul suo capo una corona di dodici stelle.	1 And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon was under her feet, and on her head was a crown of twelve stars.
2 Ed essendo incinta, gridava tra le doglie e si travagliava per partorire.	2 And being with child, she cried out while giving birth, and she was suffering in order to give birth.
3 E apparve un altro portento nel cielo: ed ecco un gran drago rosso con sette teste e dieci corna, e nelle sue teste sette corone;	3 And another sign was seen in heaven. And behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems.
4 e la sua coda strascinava la terza parte delle stelle del cielo, e le precipitò sulla terra. E il drago si piantò di fronte alla donna ch'era per partorire, per divorare, quand'avesse partorito, il figliuolo di lei.	4 And his tail drew down a third part of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman, who was about to give birth, so that, when she had brought forth, he might devour her son.
5 E partorì un figlio, un maschio, il quale doveva menar qual gregge tutte le genti con bastone di ferro. E fu rapito il suo figliuolo [e portato] presso a Dio e al suo trono.	5 And she brought forth a male child, who was soon to rule all the nations with an iron rod. And her son was taken up to God and to his throne.
6 E la donna fuggì nel deserto, dove aveva un posto preparato da Dio, per esservi nutrita milleduecentosessanta giorni.	6 And the woman fled into solitude, where a place was being held ready by God, so that they might pasture her in that place for one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
7 E ci fu una gran guerra nel cielo: Michele e i suoi angeli guerreggiarono col drago. E il drago guerreggiò e [insieme con lui] i suoi angeli.	7 And there was a great battle in heaven. Michael and his Angels were battling with the dragon, and the dragon was fighting, and so were his angels.
8 E non ce la poterono, nè si trovò più posto per loro nel cielo.	8 But they did not prevail, and a place for them was no longer found in heaven.
9 E fu precipitato giù il gran drago, il serpente antico, ch'è chiamato diavolo e Satana, il seduttore di tutta la terra; fu precipitato sulla terra e i suoi angeli furon precipitati con lui.	9 And he was thrown out, that great dragon, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, who seduces the whole world. And he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.
10 E udii una gran voce nel cielo, che diceva: «Ora s'è compiuta la salvezza e la potenza e il regno del nostro Dio e la potestà del suo Cristo; perchè fu precipitato l'accusatore de' nostri fratelli, colui che gli accusava al cospetto di Dio di giorno e di notte.	10 And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying: “Now have arrived salvation and virtue and the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers has been cast down, he who accused them before our God day and night.
11 Ed essi lo vinsero a motivo del sangue dell'agnello e della parola della loro testimonianza, e non fecer caso della propria vita sino a [sfidar la] morte.	11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of his testimony. And they loved not their own lives, even unto death.
12 Perciò fate festa, o cieli, e voi che ci abitate! Guai alla terra e al mare, perchè è sceso giù da voi il diavolo in gran furore, sapendo che poco tempo ha [ancora]».	12 Because of this, rejoice, O heavens, and all who dwell within it. Woe to the earth and to the sea! For the devil has descended to you, holding great anger, knowing that he has little time.”
13 E quando il drago vide ch'era stato precipitato sulla terra, perseguitò la donna che aveva partorito il maschio.	13 And after the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who brought forth the male child.
14 E furon date alla donna le due ali della grande aquila, perchè volasse nel deserto al posto suo, dov'è nutrita un tempo e [due] tempi e la metà d'un tempo, [lungi] dalla faccia del serpente.	14 And the two wings of a great eagle were given to the woman, so that she might fly away, into the desert, to her place, where she is being nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15 E dalla sua bocca il serpente gettò dietro alla donna [tant'] acqua come un fiume, per farla trascinar via dal fiume.	15 And the serpent sent out from his mouth, after the woman, water like a river, so that he might cause her to be carried away by the river.
16 E la terra venne in aiuto alla donna: e aprì la terra la sua bocca e inghiottì il fiume che il drago aveva gettato dalla sua bocca.	16 But the earth assisted the woman. And the earth opened her mouth and absorbed the river, which the dragon sent out from his mouth.
17 E s'adirò il drago contro la donna, e se ne andò a far guerra al resto della sua discendenza, a quelli che osservavano i comandamenti di Dio e hanno [a cuore] la testimonianza di Gesù.	17 And the dragon was angry at the woman. And so he went away to do battle with the remainder of her offspring, those who keep the commandments of God and who hold to the testimony of Jesus Christ.
18 E si piantò sull'arena del mare.	18 And he stood upon the sand of the sea.
