1 - Adunque Davide e i capi dell'armata misero a parte per il servizio i figli di Asaf, di Eman e di Iditun, affinchè cantassero profezie con le cetre, coi salteri e coi cembali e servissero secondo il loro numero nell'ufficio loro assegnato.	1 David and the chiefs of the service also set apart for the service certain of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with lyres, with harps, and with cymbals. The list of those who did the work and of their duties was:
2 Dei figli di Asaf: Zaccur, Josef, Natania, Asarela, figliuoli di Asaf, sotto la direzione di Asaf che cantava profezie accanto al re.	2 Of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah, sons of Asaph, under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied under the direction of the king.
3 Quanto a Iditun, i figliuoli di Iditun erano questi sei: Godolia, Sori, Jeseia, [Semei], Asabia, Matatia, sotto la direzione del padre loro Iditun, il quale cantava profezie colla cetra alla testa di coloro che esaltavano e lodavano il Signore.	3 Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shime-i, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with the lyre in thanksgiving and praise to the LORD.
4 Quanto a Eman, i figliuoli di Eman erano: Bocciau, Mataniau, Oziel, Subuel, Jerimot, Anania, Anani, Eliata, Geddelti, Romemtiezer, Jesbacassa, Melloti, Otir, Maaziot.	4 Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazi-oth.
5 Tutti costoro erano figli di Eman, veggente del re, per rivelare le parole di Dio e per esaltare la sua potenza. Il Signore diede a Eman quattordici figli e tre figlie.	5 All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer, according to the promise of God to exalt him; for God had given Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
6 Tutti questi stavano sotto la direzione del loro padre, cioè Asaf, Iditun e Eman, per cantare nel tempio del Signore ed erano assegnati chi a sonare i cembali, chi i salteri, chi le cetre per il servizio della casa di Dio accanto al re.	6 They were all under the direction of their father in the music in the house of the LORD with cymbals, harps, and lyres for the service of the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the order of the king.
7 Essi erano in numero di duecentoottantotto, compresi i loro fratelli che insegnavano i cantici del Signore ed eran tutti maestri.	7 The number of them along with their brethren, who were trained in singing to the LORD, all who were skilful, was two hundred and eighty-eight.
8 Essi tirarono a sorte secondo i loro ordini senza riguardo a grandi o piccoli, a sapienti o ignoranti.	8 And they cast lots for their duties, small and great, teacher and pupil alike.
9 La prima sorte toccò a Josef, che apparteneva alla famiglia di Asaf. La seconda toccò a Godolia e ai suoi figli e fratelli, in numero di dodici.	9 The first lot fell for Asaph to Joseph; the second to Gedaliah, to him and his brethren and his sons, twelve;
10 La terza toccò a Zaccur e ai suoi figli e fratelli, in numero di dodici.	10 the third to Zaccur, his sons and his brethren, twelve;
11 La quarta a Isari e ai suoi figli e fratelli, in numero di dodici.	11 the fourth to Izri, his sons and his brethren, twelve;
12 La quinta a Natania e a' suoi figli e fratelli, in numero di dodici.	12 the fifth to Nethaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;
13 La sesta a Bocciau e ai suoi figli e fratelli, in numero di dodici.	13 the sixth to Bukkiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;
