1 Il punto capitale delle cose che stiamo dicendo è questo: noi abbiamo un sommo sacerdote così grande che si è assiso alla destra del trono della Maestà nei cieli,	1 Now the main point in the things that have been stated is this: that we have so great a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of Majesty in the heavens,
2 ministro del santuario e della vera tenda, che il Signore, e non un uomo, ha costruito.	2 who is the minister of holy things, and of the true tabernacle, which was established by the Lord, not by man.
3 Ogni sommo sacerdote, infatti, viene costituito per offrire doni e sacrifici: di qui la necessità che anche Gesù abbia qualcosa da offrire.	3 For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices. Therefore, it is necessary for him also to have something to offer.
4 Se egli fosse sulla terra, non sarebbe neppure sacerdote, poiché vi sono quelli che offrono i doni secondo la Legge.	4 And so, if he were upon the earth, he would not be a priest, since there would be others to offer gifts according to the law,
5 Questi offrono un culto che è immagine e ombra delle realtà celesti, secondo quanto fu dichiarato da Dio a Mosè, quando stava per costruire la tenda: «Guarda – disse – di fare ogni cosa secondo il modello che ti è stato mostrato sul monte.	5 gifts which serve as mere examples and shadows of the heavenly things. And so it was answered to Moses, when he was about to complete the tabernacle: “See to it,” he said, “that you make everything according to the example which was revealed to you on the mountain.”
6 Ora invece egli ha avuto un ministero tanto più eccellente quanto migliore è l’alleanza di cui è mediatore, perché è fondata su migliori promesse.	6 But now he has been granted a better ministry, so much so that he is also the Mediator of a better testament, which has been confirmed by better promises.
7 Se la prima alleanza infatti fosse stata perfetta, non sarebbe stato il caso di stabilirne un’altra.	7 For if the former one had been entirely without fault, then a place certainly would not have been sought for a subsequent one.
8 Dio infatti, biasimando il suo popolo, dice: Ecco: vengono giorni, dice il Signore, quando io concluderò un’alleanza nuova con la casa d’Israele e con la casa di Giuda.	8 For, finding fault with them, he says: “Behold, the days shall arrive, says the Lord, when I will consummate a New Testament over the house of Israel and the house of Judah,
9 Non sarà come l’alleanza che feci con i loro padri, nel giorno in cui li presi per mano per farli uscire dalla terra d’Egitto; poiché essi non rimasero fedeli alla mia alleanza, anch’io non ebbi più cura di loro, dice il Signore.	9 not according to the testament which I made with their fathers, on the day when I took them by the hand, so that I might lead them away from the land of Egypt. For they did not remain in my testament, and so I disregarded them, says the Lord.
10 E questa è l’alleanza che io stipulerò con la casa d’Israele dopo quei giorni, dice il Signore: porrò le mie leggi nella loro mente e le imprimerò nei loro cuori; sarò il loro Dio ed essi saranno il mio popolo.	10 For this is the testament which I will set before the house of Israel, after those days, says the Lord. I will instill my laws in their minds, and I will inscribe my laws on their hearts. And so, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
11 Né alcuno avrà più da istruire il suo concittadino, né alcuno il proprio fratello, dicendo: «Conosci il Signore!». Tutti infatti mi conosceranno, dal più piccolo al più grande di loro.	11 And they will not teach, each one his neighbor, and each one his brother, saying: ‘Know the Lord.’ For all shall know me, from the least, even to the greatest of them.
12 Perché io perdonerò le loro iniquità e non mi ricorderò più dei loro peccati.	12 For I will forgive their iniquities, and I will no longer remember their sins.”
13 Dicendo alleanza nuova, Dio ha dichiarato antica la prima: ma, ciò che diventa antico e invecchia, è prossimo a scomparire.	13 Now in saying something new, he has made the former old. But that which decays and grows old is close to passing away.
