Seconda lettera a Timoteo 4

BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Ti scongiuro davanti a Dio e a Cristo Gesù, che verrà a giudicare i vivi e i morti, per la sua manifestazione e il suo regno:	1 Before God and before Christ Jesus who is to be judge of the living and the dead, I charge you, in thename of his appearing and of his kingdom:
2 annuncia la Parola, insisti al momento opportuno e non opportuno, ammonisci, rimprovera, esorta con ogni magnanimità e insegnamento.	2 proclaim the message and, welcome or unwelcome, insist on it. Refute falsehood, correct error, giveencouragement -- but do all with patience and with care to instruct.
3 Verrà giorno, infatti, in cui non si sopporterà più la sana dottrina, ma, pur di udire qualcosa, gli uomini si circonderanno di maestri secondo i propri capricci,	3 The time is sure to come when people wil not accept sound teaching, but their ears wil be itching foranything new and they wil col ect themselves a whole series of teachers according to their own tastes;
4 rifiutando di dare ascolto alla verità per perdersi dietro alle favole.	4 and then they will shut their ears to the truth and wil turn to myths.
5 Tu però vigila attentamente, sopporta le sofferenze, compi la tua opera di annunciatore del Vangelo, adempi il tuo ministero.	5 But you must keep steady al the time; put up with suffering; do the work of preaching the gospel; fulfilthe service asked of you.
6 Io infatti sto già per essere versato in offerta ed è giunto il momento che io lasci questa vita.	6 As for me, my life is already being poured away as a libation, and the time has come for me to depart.
7 Ho combattuto la buona battaglia, ho terminato la corsa, ho conservato la fede.	7 I have fought the good fight to the end; I have run the race to the finish; I have kept the faith;
8 Ora mi resta soltanto la corona di giustizia che il Signore, il giudice giusto, mi consegnerà in quel giorno; non solo a me, ma anche a tutti coloro che hanno atteso con amore la sua manifestazione.	8 al there is to come for me now is the crown of uprightness which the Lord, the upright judge, wil give tome on that Day; and not only to me but to al those who have longed for his appearing.
9 Cerca di venire presto da me,	9 Make every effort to come and see me as soon as you can.
10 perché Dema mi ha abbandonato, avendo preferito le cose di questo mondo, ed è partito per Tessalònica; Crescente è andato in Galazia, Tito in Dalmazia.	10 As it is, Demas has deserted me for love of this life and gone to Thessalonica, Crescens has gone toGalatia and Titus to Dalmatia;
11 Solo Luca è con me. Prendi con te Marco e portalo, perché mi sarà utile per il ministero.	11 only Luke is with me. Bring Mark with you; I find him a useful helper in my work.
12 Ho inviato Tìchico a Èfeso.	12 I have sent Tychicus to Ephesus.
13 Venendo, portami il mantello, che ho lasciato a Tròade in casa di Carpo, e i libri, soprattutto le pergamene.	13 When you come, bring the cloak I left with Carpus in Troas, and the scrol s, especially the parchmentones.
14 Alessandro, il fabbro, mi ha procurato molti danni: il Signore gli renderà secondo le sue opere.	14 Alexander the coppersmith has done me a lot of harm; the Lord wil repay him as his deeds deserve.
15 Anche tu guàrdati da lui, perché si è accanito contro la nostra predicazione.	15 Be on your guard against him yourself, because he has been bitterly contesting everything that we say.
16 Nella mia prima difesa in tribunale nessuno mi ha assistito; tutti mi hanno abbandonato. Nei loro confronti, non se ne tenga conto.	16 The first time I had to present my defence, no one came into court to support me. Every one of themdeserted me -- may they not be held accountable for it.
17 Il Signore però mi è stato vicino e mi ha dato forza, perché io potessi portare a compimento l’annuncio del Vangelo e tutte le genti lo ascoltassero: e così fui liberato dalla bocca del leone.	17 But the Lord stood by me and gave me power, so that through me the message might be ful yproclaimed for al the gentiles to hear; and so I was saved from the lion's mouth.
18 Il Signore mi libererà da ogni male e mi porterà in salvo nei cieli, nel suo regno; a lui la gloria nei secoli dei secoli. Amen.	18 The Lord will rescue me from all evil attempts on me, and bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. Tohim be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

20 Erasto è rimasto a Corinto; Tròfimo l’ho lasciato ammalato a Mileto.	20 Erastus stayed behind at Corinth, and I left Trophimus il at Miletus.
