1 Il primo giorno della settimana, Maria di Màgdala si recò al sepolcro di mattino, quando era ancora buio, e vide che la pietra era stata tolta dal sepolcro.	1 On the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning, while it was still dark, and saw the stone removed from the tomb.
2 Corse allora e andò da Simon Pietro e dall’altro discepolo, quello che Gesù amava, e disse loro: «Hanno portato via il Signore dal sepolcro e non sappiamo dove l’hanno posto!».	2 So she ran and went to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them, "They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don't know where they put him."
3 Pietro allora uscì insieme all’altro discepolo e si recarono al sepolcro.	3 So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb.
4 Correvano insieme tutti e due, ma l’altro discepolo corse più veloce di Pietro e giunse per primo al sepolcro.	4 They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and arrived at the tomb first;
5 Si chinò, vide i teli posati là, ma non entrò.	5 he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in.
6 Giunse intanto anche Simon Pietro, che lo seguiva, ed entrò nel sepolcro e osservò i teli posati là,	6 When Simon Peter arrived after him, he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there,
7 e il sudario – che era stato sul suo capo – non posato là con i teli, ma avvolto in un luogo a parte.	7 and the cloth that had covered his head, not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place.
8 Allora entrò anche l’altro discepolo, che era giunto per primo al sepolcro, e vide e credette.	8 Then the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed.
9 Infatti non avevano ancora compreso la Scrittura, che cioè egli doveva risorgere dai morti.	9 For they did not yet understand the scripture that he had to rise from the dead.
10 I discepoli perciò se ne tornarono di nuovo a casa.	10 Then the disciples returned home.
11 Maria invece stava all’esterno, vicino al sepolcro, e piangeva. Mentre piangeva, si chinò verso il sepolcro	11 But Mary stayed outside the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb
12 e vide due angeli in bianche vesti, seduti l’uno dalla parte del capo e l’altro dei piedi, dove era stato posto il corpo di Gesù.	12 and saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet where the body of Jesus had been.
13 Ed essi le dissero: «Donna, perché piangi?». Rispose loro: «Hanno portato via il mio Signore e non so dove l’hanno posto».	13 And they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "They have taken my Lord, and I don't know where they laid him."
14 Detto questo, si voltò indietro e vide Gesù, in piedi; ma non sapeva che fosse Gesù.	14 When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus.
15 Le disse Gesù: «Donna, perché piangi? Chi cerchi?». Ella, pensando che fosse il custode del giardino, gli disse: «Signore, se l’hai portato via tu, dimmi dove l’hai posto e io andrò a prenderlo».	15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?" She thought it was the gardener and said to him, "Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him."
16 Gesù le disse: «Maria!». Ella si voltò e gli disse in ebraico: «Rabbunì!» – che significa: «Maestro!».	16 Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to him in Hebrew, "Rabbouni," which means Teacher.
17 Gesù le disse: «Non mi trattenere, perché non sono ancora salito al Padre; ma va’ dai miei fratelli e di’ loro: “Salgo al Padre mio e Padre vostro, Dio mio e Dio vostro”».	17 Jesus said to her, "Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, 'I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"
18 Maria di Màgdala andò ad annunciare ai discepoli: «Ho visto il Signore!» e ciò che le aveva detto.	18 Mary of Magdala went and announced to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord," and what he told her.
19 La sera di quel giorno, il primo della settimana, mentre erano chiuse le porte del luogo dove si trovavano i discepoli per timore dei Giudei, venne Gesù, stette in mezzo e disse loro: «Pace a voi!».	19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you."
20 Detto questo, mostrò loro le mani e il fianco. E i discepoli gioirono al vedere il Signore.	20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
21 Gesù disse loro di nuovo: «Pace a voi! Come il Padre ha mandato me, anche io mando voi».	21 (Jesus) said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you."
22 Detto questo, soffiò e disse loro: «Ricevete lo Spirito Santo.	22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit.
23 A coloro a cui perdonerete i peccati, saranno perdonati; a coloro a cui non perdonerete, non saranno perdonati».	23 Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."
24 Tommaso, uno dei Dodici, chiamato Dìdimo, non era con loro quando venne Gesù.	24 Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 Gli dicevano gli altri discepoli: «Abbiamo visto il Signore!». Ma egli disse loro: «Se non vedo nelle sue mani il segno dei chiodi e non metto il mio dito nel segno dei chiodi e non metto la mia mano nel suo fianco, io non credo».	25 So the other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nailmarks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe."
26 Otto giorni dopo i discepoli erano di nuovo in casa e c’era con loro anche Tommaso. Venne Gesù, a porte chiuse, stette in mezzo e disse: «Pace a voi!».	26 Now a week later his disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in their midst and said, "Peace be with you."
27 Poi disse a Tommaso: «Metti qui il tuo dito e guarda le mie mani; tendi la tua mano e mettila nel mio fianco; e non essere incredulo, ma credente!».	27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe."
28 Gli rispose Tommaso: «Mio Signore e mio Dio!».	28 Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
29 Gesù gli disse: «Perché mi hai veduto, tu hai creduto; beati quelli che non hanno visto e hanno creduto!».	29 Jesus said to him, "Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."
30 Gesù, in presenza dei suoi discepoli, fece molti altri segni che non sono stati scritti in questo libro.	30 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of (his) disciples that are not written in this book.
31 Ma questi sono stati scritti perché crediate che Gesù è il Cristo, il Figlio di Dio, e perché, credendo, abbiate la vita nel suo nome.	31 But these are written that you may (come to) believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name.
