1 Allora i capicasata dei Leviti si presentarono al sacerdote Eleazaro, a Giosuè figlio di Nun e ai capicasata delle tribù di Israele	1 Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel;
2 e parlarono loro, a Silo, nel paese di Canaan: « Jahve per mezzo di Mosè ha ordinato di dare a noi alcune città per abitarvi e i loro pascoli per i nostri greggi».	2 And they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.
3 E i figli di Israele assegnarono dunque ai Leviti, dalla loro eredità, secondo il comando di Jahve, queste città con i pascoli.	3 And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs.
4 Uscì la sorte per le famiglie dei Kehatiti: ai Leviti, figli del sacerdote Aronne, toccarono tredici città delle tribù di Giuda, di Simeone e di Beniamin;	4 And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.
5 gli altri figli di Kehat ebbero in sorte dieci città delle tribù di Efraim, di Dan e di metà della tribù di Manasse.	5 And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.
6 Ai figli di Ghershon toccarono in sorte tredici città delle tribù d’Issachar, di Neftali e di metà della tribù di Manasse in Bashan.	6 And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.
7 Ai figli di Merari secondo le loro famiglie toccarono in sorte dodici città delle tribù di Ruben, di Gad e di Zabulon.	7 The children of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
8 Così i figli di Israele diedero in sorte ai Leviti queste città con i pascoli, come Jahve aveva ordinato per mezzo di Mosè.	8 And the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.
9 Essi assegnarono delle tribù dei figli di Giuda e dei figli di Simeone le città che vengono nominate qui in seguito.	9 And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name,
10 Le ebbero i figli di Aronne appartenenti alle famiglie dei Kehatiti figli di Levi, perchè su di loro era caduta la prima sorte.	10 Which the children of Aaron, being of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi, had: for theirs was the first lot.
11 Furono loro assegnate Kiriat-Arba, metropoli degli AnaKiti, cioè Hebron nella montagna di Giuda, e i pascoli dei dintorni,	11 And they gave them the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it.
12 meno i campi e i villaggi attigui alla città che erano già stati assegnati in proprietà a Chaleb, figlio di Jefunne.	12 But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.
13 Ai figli del sacerdote Aronne vennero assegnate le città di rifugio per un uccisore ossia Hebron con i pascoli Libna con i pascoli,	13 Thus they gave to the children of Aaron the priest Hebron with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Libnah with her suburbs,
14 Jattir con i pascoli, Eshtemoa con i pascoli,	14 And Jattir with her suburbs, and Eshtemoa with her suburbs,
15 Kholon con i pascoli, Debir con i pascoli,	15 And Holon with her suburbs, and Debir with her suburbs,
16 Ashan con i pascoli, Jutta con i pascoli, Bet-Shemesh con i pascoli: nove città di quelle due tribù.	16 And Ain with her suburbs, and Juttah with her suburbs, and Beth-shemesh with her suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes.
17 Della tribù di Beniamin: Gabaon con ì pascoli, Gheba con i pascoli,	17 And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs,
18 Anatot con i pascoli, Almon con i pascoli: quattro città.	18 Anathoth with her suburbs, and Almon with her suburbs; four cities.
19 La somma delle città dei sacerdoti figli di Aronne era di tredici città con i pascoli.	19 All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs.
20 Alle altre famiglie dei Leviti figli di Kehat, e cioè agli altri figli di Kehat, toccarono in sorte città della tribù di Efraim	20 And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.
21 e furono assegnate a loro le città di rifugio per un uccisore, Sichem con i pascoli, sulla montagna di Efraim, Gezer con i pascoli,	21 For they gave them Shechem with her suburbs in mount Ephraim, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Gezer with her suburbs,
22 Kibzaim con i pascoli, Bethoron con i pascoli: quattro città.	22 And Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Beth-horon with her suburbs; four cities.
23 Della tribù di Dan, Elteko con i pascoli, Ghibbeton con i pascoli,	23 And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with her suburbs, Gibbethon with her suburbs,
24 Aialon con i pascoli, Gat-Rimmon con i pascoli: quattro città.	24 Aijalon with her suburbs, Gath-rimmon with her suburbs; four cities.
25 Di metà della tribù di Manasse, Taanach con i pascoli, Jibleam con i pascoli: due città.	25 And out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbs, and Gath-rimmon with her suburbs; two cities.
26 Totale: dieci città con i pascoli per le famiglie degli altri figli di Kehat.	26 All the cities were ten with their suburbs for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.
27 Ai figli di Ghershon tra le famiglie dei Leviti fu assegnata dalla metà della tribù di Manasse la città di rifugio di Golan in Bashan con i pascoli e Ashtarot con i pascoli: due città.	27 And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the other half tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Beesh-terah with her suburbs; two cities.
28 Della tribù di Issachar, Kishion con i pascoli, Daberat con i pascoli,	28 And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbs, Dabareh with her suburbs,
29 Jarmut con i pascoli, En-Gannim con i pascoli: quattro città.	29 Jarmuth with her suburbs, En-gannim with her suburbs; four cities.
30 Della tribù di Asher, Misheal con i pascoli, Abdon con i pascoli,	30 And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbs, Abdon with her suburbs,
31 Khelkat con i pascoli, Rekhob con i pascoli: quattro città.	31 Helkath with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs; four cities.
32 Della tribù di Neftali, le città di rifugio per un uccisore, Kadesh in Galilea con i pascoli, Khammat con i pascoli, Kartan con i pascoli: tre città.	32 And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Hammoth-dor with her suburbs, and Kartan with her suburbs; three cities.
33 Totale delle città dei Ghershoniti secondo le loro famiglie: tredici città con le campagne.	33 All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.
34 Alle famiglie dei figli di Merari, al resto dei Leviti, toccarono in sorte, della tribù di Zabulon, Jokneam con i pascoli, Karta con i pascoli,	34 And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbs,
35 Rimmona con i pascoli, Nahalal con i pascoli: quattro città.	35 Dimnah with her suburbs, Nahalal with her suburbs; four cities.
36 Della tribù di Ruben, le città di rifugio per un uccisore, Bezer nel deserto dell’altipiano, Jahaza con i pascoli,	36 And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with her suburbs, and Jahazah with her suburbs,
37 Kedemot con i pascoli, Mefaat con i pascoli: quattro città.	37 Kedemoth with her suburbs, and Mephaath with her suburbs; four cities.
38 Della tribù di Gad, le città di rifugio per un uccisore; Ramot di Galaad con i pascoli, Makhanaim con i pascoli,	38 And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs,
39 Kheshbon con i pascoli: in tutto quattro città.	39 Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all.
40 Il totale delle città assegnate con la sorte ai figli di Merari secondo le loro famiglie cioè al resto delle famiglie dei Leviti: dodici città.	40 So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.
41 Il numero totale delle città cedute ai Leviti in mezzo al dominio dei figli di Israele: saliva a quarantotto città con i pascoli.	41 All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.
42 Ciascuna di tali città comprendeva, oltre l’agglomeramento, una certa distesa di orti che le circondava. Così era di tutte quelle città.	42 These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus were all these cities.
43 Così Jahve diede a Israele tutto il paese che aveva giurato ai padri di dare loro; essi ne presero possesso e vi si stanziarono.	43 And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
44 Poi Jahve procurò il riposo su tutte le loro frontiere, come aveva giurato ai loro padri; nessuno di tutti i loro nemici era riuscito a tenere loro fronte. Jahve aveva messo tutti i nemici nelle mani di Israele.	44 And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.
45 Di tutte le buone promesse che Jahve aveva fatto alla casa di Israele nessuna cadde a vuoto: tutte si avverarono.	45 There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.
