| 1 « Quando sarai entrato nella terra che Jahve tuo Dio sta per assegnarti in eredità, quando. ne avrai preso possesso e vi abiterai | 1 “And when you will have entered into the land which the Lord your God will give to you to possess, and when you will have obtained it and are living within it: |
| 2 allora prenderai primizie di tutti i frutti del suolo che tu avrai ricavato dalla terra che Jahve tuo Dio sta per concederti, le metterai in un cestino e andrai nel luogo nel quale Jahve tuo Dio sceglierà di far dimorare il suo nome. | 2 you shall take the first of all your crops, and place them in a basket, and you shall travel to the place which the Lord your God will choose, so that his name may be invoked there. |
| 3 Andrai dal sacerdote che sarà in carica in quei giorni e gli dirai: “ Oggi, io dichiaro a Jahve mio Dio di essere entrato nella terra che Jahve ha giurato ai nostri padri di darci”. | 3 And you shall approach the priest who will be in those days, and you shall say to him: ‘I profess this day, before the Lord your God, that I have entered into the land about which he swore to our fathers that he would give it to us.’ |
| 4 Il sacerdote prenderà il cestino dalla tua mano e lo deporrà davanti all’altare di Jahve tuo Dio; | 4 And the priest, taking up the basket from your hand, shall place it before the altar of the Lord your God. |
| 5 al cospetto di Jahve tuo Dio proseguirai dicendo: ‘ Mio padre era un Arameo errante, discese in Egitto, vi abitò come forestiero con poca gente e vi divenne una nazione grande, forte e numerosa. | 5 And you shall say, in the sight of the Lord your God: ‘The Syrian pursued my father, who descended into Egypt, and he sojourned there in a very small number, and he increased into a great and strong nation and into an innumerable multitude. |
| 6 Gli Egiziani ci maltrattarono e oppressero, ci sottoposero a dura schiavitù. | 6 And the Egyptians afflicted us, and they persecuted us, imposing upon us the most grievous burdens. |
| 7 Ma invocammo aiuto da Jahve, Dio dei nostri padri e Jahve ascoltò la nostra voce, vide la nostra miseria e la nostra oppressione | 7 And we cried out to the Lord, the God of our fathers. He heard us, and he looked with favor upon our humiliation, and hardship, and distress. |
| 8 e, con mano forte, con braccio teso, con terrore grande, con segni e prodigi, Jahve ci fece uscire dall’Egitto, | 8 And he led us away from Egypt, with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, with a mighty terror, with signs and wonders. |
| 9 ci introdusse in questo luogo e ci diede questa terra, terra dove scorre latte e miele. | 9 And he led us into this place, and he delivered to us the land flowing with milk and honey. |
| 10 Ed ecco, io ora ho portato primizie dei frutti del suolo che Jahve mi ha concesso ”. Le deporrai al cospetto di Jahve tuo Dio e ti prostrerai al cospetto di Jahve tuo Dio. | 10 And because of this, I now offer the first fruits of the land which the Lord has given to me.’ And you shall leave them in the sight of the Lord your God, and you shall adore the Lord your God. |
| 11 Dopo, gioirai di tutto il bene che Jahve tuo Dio ha elargito a te e alla tua famiglia: gioirai tu, il Levita e il forestiero che si trova in mezzo a te. | 11 And you shall feast on all the good things which the Lord your God will give to you and to your house: you, and the Levite, and the new arrival who is with you. |
| 12 Nel terzo anno, l’anno della decima, quando avrai terminato di prelevare la decima di ogni tuo prodotto e l’avrai data al Levita, al forestiero, all’orfano, alla vedova ed essi l’avranno mangiata dentro le tue porte e se ne saranno saziati, | 12 When you will have completed the tithing of all your crops, in the third year of tithes, you shall give it to the Levite, and to the new arrival, and to the orphan, and to the widow, so that they may eat within your gates and be satisfied. |
| 13 allora dirai al cospetto di Jahve tuo Dio: “ Ho allontanato completamente dalla mia casa ciò che è sacro dandolo al Levita, al forestiero, all’orfano e alla vedova, secondo tutti i precetti che mi hai ordinato: non ho trasgredito nè dimenticato alcuno dei tuoi precetti. | 13 And you shall say, in the sight of the Lord your God: ‘I have taken what was sanctified from my house, and I have given it to the Levite, and to the new arrival, and to the orphan and the widow, just as you have commanded me. I have not transgressed your commandments, nor have I forgotten your precepts. |
| 14 Non ne ho mangiato nel mio lutto, non ne ho allontanato mentre ero impuro e non ne ho dato a un morto. Ho ascoltato la voce di Jahve mio Dio, ho agito secondo quanto mi hai ordinato. | 14 I have not eaten from these things in my grief, nor have I separated them due to any kind of uncleanness, nor have I expended any of these things in funerals. I have obeyed the voice of the Lord my God, and I have done all things just as you have instructed me. |
| 15 Dalla tua santa abitazione, dal cielo, volgi lo sguardo, benedici il tuo popolo Israele e il suolo che tu ci hai concesso, come avevi giurato ai nostri padri, terra dove scorre latte e miele ”. | 15 Look with favor from your sanctuary and from your lofty habitation amid the heavens, and bless your people Israel and the land which you have given to us, just as you swore to our fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey.’ |
| 16 Oggi Jahve tuo Dio ti ordina di mettere in pratica questi statuti e decreti: osservali e mettili in pratica con tutto il Cuore e con tutta l’anima. | 16 Today the Lord your God has instructed you to carry out these commandments and judgments, and to keep and fulfill them, with all your heart and with all your soul. |
| 17 Tu oggi hai fatto sì che Jahve dichiarasse di essere il tuo Dio, mentre tu avresti seguito la sua via, osservato i suoi Statuti, precetti, decreti e ascoltato la sua voce; | 17 Today, you have chosen the Lord to be your God, so that you may walk in his ways, and keep his ceremonies and commandments and judgments, and obey his command. |
| 18 e Jahve oggi ha fatto sì che tu dichiarassi di essere un popolo particolarmente suo, come ti ha promesso, mentre tu avresti osservato tutti i suoi precetti; | 18 Today, the Lord has chosen you, so that you may be his particular people, just as he has spoken to you, and so that you may keep all his precepts, |
| 19 così che egli ti renda eccelso. per lode, rinomanza e onore su tutte le nazioni che ha fatto, e tu sia un popolo consacrato a Jahve tuo Dio come ti ha promesso ». | 19 and so that he may cause you to be more exalted than all the nations which he has created, for the sake of his own praise and name and glory, in order that you may be a holy people for the Lord your God, just as he has spoken.” |
