Seconda lettera ai Tessalonicesi 3

NOVA VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 De cetero, fratres, orate pro nobis, ut sermo Domini currat et glorificetur sicut et apud vos,	1 Final y, brothers, pray for us that the Lord's message may spread quickly, and be received with honouras it was among you;
2 et ut liberemur ab importunis et malis hominibus; non enim omnium est fides.	2 and pray that we may be preserved from bigoted and evil people, for not everyone has faith.
3 Fidelis autem Dominus est, qui confirmabit vos et custodiet a Malo.	3 You can rely on the Lord, who wil give you strength and guard you from the evil One,
4 Confidimus autem de vobis in Domino, quoniam, quae praecipimus, et facitis et facietis.	4 and we, in the Lord, have every confidence in you, that you are doing and wil go on doing al that wetel you.
5 Dominus autem dirigat corda vestra in caritatem Dei et patientiam Christi.	5 May the Lord turn your hearts towards the love of God and the perseverance of Christ.
6 Praecipimus autem vobis, fratres, in nomine Domini nostri Iesu Christi, ut subtrahatis vos ab omni fratre ambulante inordinate et non secundum traditionem, quam acceperunt a nobis.	6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge you, brothers, to keep away from any of the brothers wholives an undisciplined life, not in accordance with the tradition you received from us.
7 Ipsi enim scitis quemadmodum oporteat imitari nos, quoniam non inordinati fuimus inter vos	7 You know how you should take us as your model: we were not undisciplined when we were with you,
8 neque gratìs panem manducavimus ab aliquo sed in labore et fatigatione, nocte et die operantes, ne quem vestrum gravaremus;	8 nor did we ever accept food from anyone without paying for it; no, we worked with unsparing energy,night and day, so as not to be a burden on any of you.
9 non quasi non habuerimus potestatem, sed ut nosmetipsos formam daremus vobis ad imitandum nos.	9 This was not because we had no right to be, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to imitate.
10 Nam et cum essemus apud vos, hoc praecipiebamus vobis: Si quis non vult operari, nec manducet.	10 We urged you when we were with you not to let anyone eat who refused to work.
11 Audimus enim inter vos quosdam ambulare inordinate, nihil operantes sed curiose agentes;	11 Now we hear that there are some of you who are living lives without any discipline, doing no workthemselves but interfering with other people's.
12 his autem, qui eiusmodi sunt, praecipimus et obsecramus in Domino Iesu Christo, ut cum quiete operantes suum panem manducent.	12 In the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge and cal on people of this kind to go on quietly working and earningthe food that they eat.
13 Vos autem, fratres, nolite deficere benefacientes.	13 My brothers, never slacken in doing what is right.
14 Quod si quis non oboedit verbo nostro per epistulam, hunc notate, non commisceamini cum illo, ut confundatur;	14 If anyone refuses to obey what I have written in this letter, take note of him and have nothing to dowith him, so that he wil be ashamed of himself,
15 et nolite quasi inimicum existimare, sed corripite ut fratrem.	15 though you are not to treat him as an enemy, but to correct him as a brother.
16 Ipse autem Dominus pacis det vobis pacem sempiternam in omni modo. Dominus cum omnibus vobis.	16 May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at al times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.
17 Salutatio mea manu Pauli, quod est signum in omni epistula; ita scribo.	17 This greeting is in my own hand-PAUL. It is the mark of genuineness in every letter; this is my own writing.
18 Gratia Domini nostri Iesu Christi cum omnibus vobis.	18 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
