Fecit autem Beseleel et ar cam de lignis acaciae haben tem duos semis cubitos in longitudine et cubitum ac semissem in latitudine, altitudo quoque unius cubiti fuit et dimidii; vestivitque eam auro purissimo intus ac foris.1 Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high.
Et fecit illi coronam auream per gyrum,2 The inside and outside were plated with gold, and a molding of gold was put around it.
conflans quattuor anulos aureos in quattuor pedibus eius; duos anulos in latere uno et duos in altero.3 Four gold rings were cast and put on its four supports, two rings for one side and two for the opposite side.
Vectes quoque fecit de lignis acaciae, quos vestivit auro4 Poles of acacia wood were made and plated with gold;
et quos misit in anulos, qui erant in lateribus arcae, ad portandum eam.
these were put through the rings on the sides of the ark, for carrying it.
Fecit et propitiatorium de auro mundissimo: duorum cubitorum et dimidii in longitudine et cubiti ac semis in latitudine.6 The propitiatory was made of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide.
Duos etiam cherubim ex auro ductili fecit ex utraque parte propitiatorii:7 Two cherubim of beaten gold were made for the two ends of the propitiatory,
cherub unum ex summitate unius partis et cherub alterum ex summitate partis alterius; duos cherubim ex singulis summitatibus propitiatorii8 one cherub fastened at one end, the other at the other end, springing directly from the propitiatory at its two ends.
extendentes alas sursum et tegentes alis suis propitiatorium seque mutuo et illud respicientes.
The cherubim had their wings spread out above, covering the propitiatory with them. They were turned toward each other, but with their faces looking toward the propitiatory.
Fecit et mensam de lignis acaciae in longitudine duorum cubitorum et in latitudine unius cubiti, quae habebat in altitudine cubitum ac semissem;10 The table was made of acacia wood, two cubits long, one cubit wide, and one and a half cubits high.
circumdeditque eam auro mundissimo et fecit illi coronam auream per gyrum.11 It was plated with pure gold, and a molding of gold was put around it.
Fecit ei quoque limbum aureum quattuor digitorum per circuitum et super illum coronam auream.12 A frame a handbreadth high was also put around it, with a molding of gold around the frame.
Fudit et quattuor circulos aureos, quos posuit in quattuor angulis per singulos pedes mensae13 Four rings of gold were cast for it and fastened, one at each of the four corners.
iuxta limbum; misitque in eos vectes, ut possit mensa portari.14 The rings were alongside the frame as holders for the poles to carry the table.
Ipsos quoque vectes fecit de lignis acaciae et circumdedit eos auro;15 These poles were made of acacia wood and plated with gold.
et vasa ad diversos usus mensae, acetabula, phialas et cyathos et crateras ex auro puro, in quibus offerenda sunt libamina.
The vessels that were set on the table, its plates and cups, as well as its pitchers and bowls for pouring libations, were of pure gold.
Fecit et candelabrum ductile de auro mundissimo, basim et hastile eius; scyphi sphaerulaeque ac flores unum cum ipso erant:17 The lampstand was made of pure beaten gold--its shaft and branches as well as its cups and knobs and petals springing directly from it.
sex in utroque latere, tres calami ex parte una et tres ex altera;18 Six branches extended from its sides, three branches on one side and three on the other.
tres scyphi in nucis modum in calamo uno sphaerulaeque simul et flores et tres scyphi instar nucis in calamo altero sphaerulaeque simul et flores. Aequum erat opus sex calamorum, qui procedebant de hastili candelabri.19 On one branch there were three cups, shaped like almond blossoms, each with its knob and petals; on the opposite branch there were three cups, shaped like almond blossoms, each with its knob and petals; and so for the six branches that extended from the lampstand.
In ipso autem hastili erant quattuor scyphi in nucis modum sphaerulaeque et flores;20 On the shaft there were four cups, shaped like almond blossoms, with their knobs and petals,
singulae sphaerulae sub binis calamis per loca tria, qui simul sex fiunt calami procedentes de hastili uno.21 including a knob below each of the three pairs of branches that extended from the lampstand.
Sphaerulae igitur et calami unum cum ipso erant, totum ductile ex auro purissimo.22 The knobs and branches sprang so directly from it that the whole formed but a single piece of pure beaten gold.
Fecit et lucernas septem cum emunctoriis suis et vasa, ubi emuncta condantur, de auro mundissimo.23 Its seven lamps, as well as its trimming shears and trays, were made of pure gold.
Talentum auri purissimi appendebat candelabrum cum omnibus vasis suis.
A talent of pure gold was used for the lampstand and its various appurtenances.
Fecit et altare thymiamatis de lignis acaciae habens per quadrum singulos cubitos et in altitudine duos; e cuius angulis procedebant cornua.25 The altar of incense was made of acacia wood, on a square, a cubit long, a cubit wide, and two cubits high, having horns that sprang directly from it.
Vestivitque illud auro purissimo cum craticula ac parietibus et cornibus.26 Its grate on top, its walls on all four sides, and its horns were plated with pure gold; and a molding of gold was put around it.
Fecitque ei coronam aureolam per gyrum et binos anulos aureos sub corona in duobus lateribus, ut mittantur in eos vectes, et possit altare portari.27 Underneath the molding gold rings were placed, two on one side and two on the opposite side, as holders for the poles to carry it.
Ipsos autem vectes fecit de lignis acaciae et operuit laminis aureis.
The poles, too, were made of acacia wood and plated with gold.
Composuit et oleum ad sanctificationis unguentum et thymiama de aromatibus mundissimis opere pigmentarii.
The sacred anointing oil and the fragrant incense were prepared in their pure form by a perfumer.
