| 1 L'anno quattrocentottanta, dopo la uscita dei figli d'Israele dalla terra d'Egitto l'anno quarto del regno di Salomone sopra Israele, nel mese di Zio (che è il secondo dell'anno) cominciò ad essere edificata la casa del Signore. | 1 In the four hundred and eightieth year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of the LORD. |
| 2 La casa che il re Salomone edificò al Signore aveva sessanta cubiti di lunghezza, venti cubiti di larghezza e trenta d'altezza. | 2 The house which King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high. |
| 3 Davanti al tempio vi era un portico che era lungo quanto era largo il tempio, cioè venti cubiti, ed aveva dieci cubiti di larghezza davanti alla facciata del tempio. | 3 The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house, and ten cubits deep in front of the house. |
| 4 Fece nel tempio delle finestre oblique. | 4 And he made for the house windows with recessed frames. |
| 5 Costruì anche dei piani di camere, all'intorno, addossati al muro del tempio, e sulle mura della casa attorno al tempio e all'oracolo, fece delle camere laterali, all'intorno, | 5 He also built a structure against the wall of the house, running round the walls of the house, both the nave and the inner sanctuary; and he made side chambers all around. |
| 6 il piano inferiore aveva la larghezza di cinque cubiti, il piano di mezzo era largo sei cubiti, il terzo era largo sette cubiti. Le travi poggiavano intorno alla casa, ma al di fuori, in modo da non penetrare nelle mura del tempio. | 6 The lowest story was five cubits broad, the middle one was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for around the outside of the house he made offsets on the wall in order that the supporting beams should not be inserted into the walls of the house. |
| 7 La casa quando fu edificata fu fatta di pietre tagliate e già ben preparate, e cosi nè martello nè scalpello nè altro strumento di ferro fu sentito nella casa mentre era edificata. | 7 When the house was built, it was with stone prepared at the quarry; so that neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron was heard in the temple, while it was being built. |
| 8 La porta del piano di mezzo era dalla parte destra della casa: per una scala a chiocciola si saliva al piano di mezzo, e da quel di mezzo al terzo. | 8 The entrance for the lowest story was on the south side of the house; and one went up by stairs to the middle story, and from the middle story to the third. |
| 9 Fatta e finita la casa, la coperse con soffitti di cedro. | 9 So he built the house, and finished it; and he made the ceiling of the house of beams and planks of cedar. |
| 10 I piani di camere attorno a tutta la casa li fece di cinque cubiti d'altezza e coperse la casa con legnami di cedro. | 10 He built the structure against the whole house, each story five cubits high, and it was joined to the house with timbers of cedar. |
| 11 La parola del Signore, indirizzandosi a Salomone, disse: | 11 Now the word of the LORD came to Solomon, |
| 12 « (Approvo) la casa che tu edifichi, e se tu camminerai nei miei precetti, eseguirai le mie leggi, osserverai tutti i miei comandamenti, camminando in essi, io confermerò in tuo favore la parola che dissi a David tuo padre. | 12 "Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in my statutes and obey my ordinances and keep all my commandments and walk in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father. |
| 13 Io abiterò in mezzo ai figli d'Israele, e non abbandonerò il mio popolo d'Israele ». | 13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel." |
| 14 Salomone adunque edificò la casa e la compì. | 14 So Solomon built the house, and finished it. |
| 15 Egli rivestì interiormente le mura della casa con tavole di cedro, dal pavimento fino alla sommità dei muri e fino al soffitto, coprì con legno di cedro la parte interna e con tavole d'abete il pavimento della casa. | 15 He lined the walls of the house on the inside with boards of cedar; from the floor of the house to the rafters of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood; and he covered the floor of the house with boards of cypress. |
| 16 Coprì con tavole di cedro dal pavimento al soffitto, i venti cubiti in fondo al tempio, e ne fece la casa interna dell'oracolo, cioè il Santo dei Santi. | 16 He built twenty cubits of the rear of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the rafters, and he built this within as an inner sanctuary, as the most holy place. |
| 17 Il tempio propriamente detto davanti alla porta dell'oracolo era di quaranta cubiti. | 17 The house, that is, the nave in front of the inner sanctuary, was forty cubits long. |
| 18 Tutta la casa era all'interno rivestita di cedro con intagli e giunture fatte con arte, con rilievi prominenti, ogni cosa era così coperta da tavole di cedro che nessuna pietra poteva comparire nei muri. | 18 The cedar within the house was carved in the form of gourds and open flowers; all was cedar, no stone was seen. |
| 19 L'oracolo, per collocarvi l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore, lo fece nel mezzo della casa, nella parte più interna. | 19 The inner sanctuary he prepared in the innermost part of the house, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD. |
| 20 L'oracolo aveva venti cubiti di lunghezza, venti cubiti di larghezza, e venti cubiti di altezza. Salomone lo coprì e rivestì di oro purissimo, l'altare invece lo rivestì di cedro. | 20 The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high; and he overlaid it with pure gold. He also made an altar of cedar. |
| 21 Anche la casa davanti all'oracolo la ricoperse d'oro purissimo, e vi fermò lamine (d'oro) con chiodi d'oro. | 21 And Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold, and he drew chains of gold across, in front of the inner sanctuary, and overlaid it with gold. |
| 22 Nulla vi era nel tempio che non fosse coperto d'oro; coperse d'oro anche tutto l'altare dell'oracolo. | 22 And he overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. Also the whole altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary he overlaid with gold. |
| 23 Nell'oracolo fece due cherubini di legno d'ulivo, di dieci cubiti d'altezza. | 23 In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olivewood, each ten cubits high. |
| 24 Un cherubino aveva un'ala di cinque cubiti e l'altra ala pure di cinque cubiti, sicché v'erano dieci cubiti dall'estremità d'un'ala fino alla estremità dell'altra. | 24 Five cubits was the length of one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the length of the other wing of the cherub; it was ten cubits from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other. |
| 25 Il secondo cherubino era pure di dieci cubiti: delle stesse dimensioni e della stessa forma erano tutt'e due i cherubini, | 25 The other cherub also measured ten cubits; both cherubim had the same measure and the same form. |
| 26 Cioè tanto l'uno che l'altro dei cherubini aveva l'altezza di dieci cubiti. | 26 The height of one cherub was ten cubits, and so was that of the other cherub. |
| 27 Mise i cherubini nel mezzo del tempio interiore. I cherubini tenevan tese le loro ali, e l'ala di uno toccava una parete e l'ala dell'altro cherubino toccava l'altra parete, le altre due ali si toccavano l'una l'altra nel mezzo del tempio. | 27 He put the cherubim in the innermost part of the house; and the wings of the cherubim were spread out so that a wing of one touched the one wall, and a wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; their other wings touched each other in the middle of the house. |
| 28 Ricoperse d'oro anche i cherubini. | 28 And he overlaid the cherubim with gold. |
| 29 Tutte le pareti del tempio torno torno le fece ornare di rilievi e d'intagli, facendovi fare dei cherubini, delle palme e varie figure che sembravano staccarsi dalla parete per uscirne. | 29 He carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, in the inner and outer rooms. |
| 30 Anche il pavimento della casa, interna ed esterna, lo ricoperse d'oro. | 30 The floor of the house he overlaid with gold in the inner and outer rooms. |
| 31 All'ingresso dell'oracolo fece delle porticine di legno d'ulivo con stipiti a cinque angoli, | 31 For the entrance to the inner sanctuary he made doors of olivewood; the lintel and the doorposts formed a pentagon. |
| 32 coi due battenti di legno d'ulivo, ove fece scolpir figure di cherubini, di palme, e dei bassi rilievi molto pronunziati; le rivesti d'oro, come rivestì pure d'oro i cherubini, le palme, e tutte le altre cose. | 32 He covered the two doors of olivewood with carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; he overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubim and upon the palm trees. |
| 33 All'ingresso del tempio fece degli stipiti quadrangolari di legno d'ulivo, | 33 So also he made for the entrance to the nave doorposts of olivewood, in the form of a square, |
| 34 e due porte di legno d'abete, una da un lato ed una dall'altro; ciascuna delle porte aveva due battenti che si aprivano ripiegandosi. | 34 and two doors of cypress wood; the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding. |
| 35 Vi scolpì dei cherubini, delle palme e dei rilievi molto sporgenti, e ricoperse ogni cosa con lamine d'oro con lavoro fatto a regola e a squadra. | 35 On them he carved cherubim and palm trees and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold evenly applied upon the carved work. |
| 36 L'atrio interiore lo fece con tre ordini di pietre lavorate e un ordine di legname di cedro. | 36 He built the inner court with three courses of hewn stone and one course of cedar beams. |
| 37 L'anno quarto, nel mese di Zio, furono posti i fondamenti della casa del Signore, | 37 In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid, in the month of Ziv. |
| 38 e nell'anno undicesimo, nel mese di Bui (che è l'ottavo mese), la casa fu terminata con tutti i suoi lavori e tutti i suoi utensili: la fece in sette anni. | 38 And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished in all its parts, and according to all its specifications. He was seven years in building it. |
