Prima lettera di Giovanni 2

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Figliuoli miei, vi scrivo queste cose, affinchè non abbiate a peccare. Ma se qualcuno avrà peccato, noi abbiamo presso il Padre un avvocato, Gesù Cristo, il Giusto.	1 My children, I am writing this to prevent you from sinning; but if anyone does sin, we have an advocatewith the Father, Jesus Christ, the upright.
2 Egli è propiziazione per i nostro peccati, e non soltanto per i nostri, ma anche per quelli di tutto il mondo.	2 He is the sacrifice to expiate our sins, and not only ours, but also those of the whole world.
3 E da questo sappiamo che lo abbiamo conosciuto, se osserviamo i suoi comandamenti.	3 In this way we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 Chi dice di conoscerlo e non osserva i suoi comandamenti, è bugiardo e la verità non è in lui.	4 Whoever says, 'I know him' without keeping his commandments, is a liar, and truth has no place in him.
5 Invece chi osserva la sua parola, in questo la carità di Dio è veramente perfetta; e da ciò sappiamo che siamo in Lui.	5 But anyone who does keep his word, in such a one God's love truly reaches its perfection. This is theproof that we are in God.
6 Chi dice di stare in Lui, deve esso pure camminare come Egli camminò.	6 Whoever claims to remain in him must act as he acted.
7 Carissimi, non è un comandamento nuovo che vi scrivo, ma un comandamento vecchio, che voi avete ricevuto da principio: il comandamento vecchio è la parola che avete udita.	7 My dear friends, this is not a new commandment I am writing for you, but an old commandment that youhave had from the beginning; the old commandment is the message you have heard.
8 D'altra parte è anche un comandamento nuovo che vi scrivo, il che è vero in Lui e in voi; perchè le tenebre si son diradate e già risplende il vero lume.	8 Yet in another way, I am writing a new commandment for you -- and this is true for you, just as much asfor him -- for darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.
9 Chi dice di esser nella luce e odia il fratello suo, egli è ancora nelle tenebre.	9 Whoever claims to be in light but hates his brother is still in darkness.
10 Chi ama il proprio fratello, dimora nella luce e in lui non v'è scandalo.	10 Anyone who loves his brother remains in light and there is in him nothing to make him fall away.
11 Chi invece odia il proprio fratello, è nelle tenebre, e nelle tenebre cammina, e non sa dove vada, perchè le tenebre hanno accecato gli occhi suoi.	11 But whoever hates his brother is in darkness and is walking about in darkness not knowing where he isgoing, because darkness has blinded him.
12 Figliuolini, scrivo a voi, perchè vi son rimessi i peccati per il nome di Lui.	12 I am writing to you, children, because your sins have been forgiven through his name.
13 Scrivo a voi, padri, perchè avete conosciuto Colui che è dal principio. Scrivo a voi, giovinetti, perchè avete vinto il maligno.	13 I am writing to you, fathers, because you have come to know the One who has existed since thebeginning. I am writing to you, young people, because you have overcome the Evil One.
14 Scrivo a voi, fratelli, perchè avete conosciuto il Padre. Scrivo a voi, giovani, perchè siete forti e la parola di Dio sta in voi e avete vinto il maligno.	14 I have written to you, children, because you have come to know the Father. I have written to you,parents, because you have come to know the One who has existed since the beginning. I have written to you,young people, because you are strong, and God's word remains in you, and you have overcome the Evil One.
15 Non vogliate amare il mondo, nè le cose che son nel mondo. Se uno ama il mondo, la carità del Padre non è in lui;	15 Do not love the world or what is in the world. If anyone does love the world, the love of the Father findsno place in him,
16 poichè tutto quello che è nel mondo è concupiscenza della carne, concupiscenza degli occhi e superbia della vita; le quali cose non vengono dal Padre, ma dal mondo.	16 because everything there is in the world -- disordered bodily desires, disordered desires of the eyes,pride in possession -- is not from the Father but is from the world.
17 E il mondo passa, e la sua concupiscenza [con lui]; invece chi fa la volontà di Dio, dura in eterno.	17 And the world, with al its disordered desires, is passing away. But whoever does the will of Godremains for ever.
18 Figliuolini, è l'ultima ora; a come avete udito che l'Anticristo deve venire vi sono ora molti anticristi; donde sappiamo che è l'ultima ora.	18 Children, this is the final hour; you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, and now many Antichristshave already come; from this we know that it is the final hour.
19 Sono usciti da noi, ma non eran dei nostri, perchè se fossero stati dei nostri, sarebbero certamente rimasti con noi; ma si deve far noto che non tutti son dei nostri.	19 They have gone from among us, but they never real y belonged to us; if they had belonged to us, theywould have stayed with us. But this was to prove that not one of them belonged to us.
20 Ma voi avete l'unzione dal Santo e conoscete ogni cosa.	20 But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and have al received knowledge.
21 Io non vi ho scritto come a persone che non conoscono la verità, ma come a persone, che la conoscono; e [voi sapete] che nessuna menzogna può venire dalla verità.	21 I have written to you not because you are ignorant of the truth, but because you are wel aware of it,and because no lie can come from the truth.
22 Chi è il mentitore, se non chi nega che Gesù è il Cristo? Egli è l'anticristo, che nega il Padre e il Figliuolo.	22 Who is the liar, if not one who claims that Jesus is not the Christ? This is the Antichrist, who deniesboth the Father and the Son.
23 Chiunque nega il Figliuolo, non ha neanche il Padre; chi confessa il Figliuolo, ha anche il Padre.	23 Whoever denies the Son cannot have the Father either; whoever acknowledges the Son has theFather too.
24 Quello che voi avete udito da principio, rimanga fermo in voi. Se quel che avete udito da principio rimane fermo in voi, anche voi rimarrete fermi nel Figliuolo e nel Padre.	24 Let what you heard in the beginning remain in you; as long as what you heard in the beginningremains in you, you will remain in the Son and in the Father.
25 E questa è la promessa che Egli ci ha fatto: la vita eterna.	25 And the promise he made you himself is eternal life.
26 Vi ho scritto queste cose intorno a quelli che vi seducono.	26 So much have I written to you about those who are trying to lead you astray.
27 Ma quanto a voi resti in voi l'unzione che da Lui avete ricevuta. E non avete bisogno che qualcuno vi ammaestri: ma come l'unzione di Lui vi insegna tutte le cose, ed è verace e non menzognera. E come vi ha insegnato, rimanete in Lui.	27 But as for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone toteach you; since the anointing he gave you teaches you everything, and since it is true, not false, remain in himjust as he has taught you.
28 E adesso, figliuolini, rimanete in Lui, affinchè quando Egli apparirà abbiamo fiducia e non abbiamo da essere svergognati nella sua venuta.	28 Therefore remain in him now, children, so that when he appears we may be fearless, and not shrinkfrom him in shame at his coming.
29 Se sapete che egli è giusto, sappiate pure che chi pratica la giustizia è nato da Lui.	29 If you know that he is upright you must recognise that everyone whose life is upright is a child of his.
