1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e disse:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 «Parla ad Aronne, ai suoi figli e a tutti gli Israeliti dicendo loro: “Questo il Signore ha ordinato:	2 Speak to Aaron and his sons, and to all the sons of Israel, saying to them: This is the word, which the Lord has commanded, saying:
3 Ogni Israelita che scanni un giovenco o un agnello o una capra entro l’accampamento o fuori dell’accampamento	3 Any man at all of the house of Israel, if he will have killed an ox, or a sheep, or a goat in the camp or beyond the camp,
4 e non lo porti all’ingresso della tenda del convegno, per presentarlo come offerta al Signore davanti alla Dimora del Signore, sarà considerato colpevole di delitto di sangue: ha sparso il sangue, e quest’uomo sarà eliminato dal suo popolo.	4 and not have presented it as an oblation to the Lord at the door of the tabernacle, he shall be guilty of blood. It is just as if he had shed blood; so then, he shall perish from the midst of his people.
5 Perciò gli Israeliti, invece di immolare, come fanno, le loro vittime nei campi, le presenteranno in onore del Signore portandole al sacerdote all’ingresso della tenda del convegno, e le immoleranno in onore del Signore come sacrifici di comunione.	5 Therefore, the sons of Israel must offer to the priest their victims, which they kill in the field, so that they may be sanctified to the Lord before the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, and so that they may immolate them as peace offerings to the Lord.
6 Il sacerdote ne spanderà il sangue sull’altare del Signore, all’ingresso della tenda del convegno, e farà bruciare il grasso come profumo gradito in onore del Signore.	6 And the priest shall pour the blood upon the altar of the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, and he shall burn the fat as a sweet odor to the Lord.
7 Essi non offriranno più i loro sacrifici ai satiri, ai quali sogliono prostituirsi. Questa sarà per loro una legge perenne, di generazione in generazione”.	7 And they shall no longer immolate their victims to demons, with whom they have committed fornication. It shall be an everlasting ordinance for them and for their posterity.
8 Dirai loro ancora: “Ogni uomo, Israelita o straniero dimorante in mezzo a loro, che offra un olocausto o un sacrificio	8 And you shall say to them: The man of the house of Israel, or of the newcomers who sojourn with you, who offers a holocaust or a victim,
9 senza portarlo all’ingresso della tenda del convegno per offrirlo in onore del Signore, quest’uomo sarà eliminato dal suo popolo.	9 and who does not bring it to the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, so that it may be offered to the Lord, shall pass away from his people.
10 Ogni uomo, Israelita o straniero dimorante in mezzo a loro, che mangi di qualsiasi specie di sangue, contro di lui, che ha mangiato il sangue, io volgerò il mio volto e lo eliminerò dal suo popolo.	10 Any man at all of the house of Israel, or of the newcomers who sojourn among them, if he has eaten blood, I will harden my face against his soul, and I will drive him from his people.
11 Poiché la vita della carne è nel sangue. Perciò vi ho concesso di porlo sull’altare in espiazione per le vostre vite; perché il sangue espia, in quanto è la vita.	11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you, so that you may atone with it upon the altar for your souls, and so that the blood may be for an expiation of the soul.
12 Perciò ho detto agli Israeliti: Nessuno tra voi mangerà il sangue, neppure lo straniero che dimora fra voi mangerà sangue.	12 For this reason, I have said to the sons of Israel: No soul among you shall eat blood, nor among the newcomers who sojourn with you.
13 Se qualcuno degli Israeliti o degli stranieri che dimorano fra di loro prende alla caccia un animale o un uccello che si può mangiare, ne deve spargere il sangue e coprirlo di terra;	13 Any man at all from the sons of Israel, or from the newcomers who sojourn with you, whether by hunting or bird-catching, if he seizes a wild beast or a bird, which is lawful to eat, let him pour out its blood and cover the earth with it.
14 perché la vita di ogni essere vivente è il suo sangue, in quanto è la sua vita. Perciò ho ordinato agli Israeliti: Non mangerete sangue di alcuna specie di essere vivente, perché il sangue è la vita di ogni carne; chiunque ne mangerà sarà eliminato.	14 For the life of all flesh is in the blood. Therefore, I said to the sons of Israel: You shall not eat the blood of any flesh at all, because the life of the flesh is in the blood, and whoever has eaten it shall perish.
15 Ogni persona, nativa o straniera, che mangi carne di bestia morta naturalmente o sbranata, dovrà lavarsi le vesti, bagnarsi nell’acqua e resterà impura fino alla sera; allora sarà pura.	15 The soul who eats what has died on its own, or what has been caught by a beast, whether he is native born or a newcomer, shall wash his clothes and himself with water, and he shall be contaminated until evening. And by this means he shall be made clean.
16 Ma se non si lava le vesti e il corpo, porterà la pena della sua colpa”».	16 But if he will not wash his clothes and his body, he shall bear his iniquity.
