1 Questi sono i sacerdoti e i leviti che tornarono con Zorobabele, figlio di Sealtièl, e con Giosuè: Seraià, Geremia, Esdra,	1 These are the priests and the Levites who came back with Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua:
2 Amaria, Malluc, Cattus,	2 Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,
3 Secania, Recum, Meremòt,	3 Amariah, Mal uch, Hattush, Shecaniah, Rehum, Meremoth,
4 Iddo, Ghinnetòn, Abia,	4 Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abijah,
5 Miamìn, Maadia, Bilga,	5 Mijamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,
6 Semaià, Ioiarìb, Iedaià,	6 Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah,
7 Sallu, Amok, Chelkia, Iedaià. Questi erano i capi dei sacerdoti e dei loro fratelli al tempo di Giosuè.	7 Sal u, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah -- these were the heads of the priests and their kinsmen in the days ofJeshua.
8 Leviti: Giosuè, Binnùi, Kadmièl, Serebia, Giuda, Mattania, che era preposto agli inni con i suoi fratelli.	8 The Levites were Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, Mattaniah -- this last, with his brothers,was in charge of the songs of praise,

22 I leviti furono registrati, quanto ai capi di casato, al tempo di Eliasìb, di Ioiadà, di Giovanni e di Iaddua; e i sacerdoti sotto il regno di Dario, il Persiano.	22 In the time of Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan and Jaddua, the heads of the families of priests wereregistered in the Book of Chronicles, up to the reign of Darius the Persian.
23 I leviti capi di casato furono registrati nel libro delle Cronache fino al tempo di Giovanni, figlio di Eliasìb.	23 The Levites who were heads of families were registered in the Book of Chronicles up to the time ofJohanan, grandson of Eliashib.
24 I capi dei leviti Casabia, Serebia, Giosuè, figlio di Kadmièl, e i loro fratelli si alternavano con loro per lodare e ringraziare, secondo l’ordine di Davide, uomo di Dio, turno per turno.	24 The heads of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, while their brotherswho formed an alternate choir for the hymns of praise and thanksgiving, as David, man of God, had prescribed,section corresponding to section,
25 Mattania, Bakbukia, Abdia, Mesullàm, Talmon, Akkub erano portieri e facevano la guardia ai magazzini delle porte.	25 were Mattaniah, Bakbukiah and Obadiah. Meshul am, Talmon and Akkub were the gatekeepersguarding the stores at the gates.
26 Questi vivevano al tempo di Ioiakìm, figlio di Giosuè, figlio di Iosadàk, e al tempo di Neemia, il governatore, e di Esdra, sacerdote e scriba.	26 These lived in the days of Joiakim son of Jeshua, son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah thegovernor and of Ezra the priest-scribe.
27 Per la dedicazione delle mura di Gerusalemme si mandarono a cercare i leviti da tutti i luoghi dove si trovavano, per farli venire a Gerusalemme, per celebrare la dedicazione con gioia, con azioni di grazie, con il canto, con cimbali, arpe e cetre.	27 At the dedication of the wal of Jerusalem the Levites were sent for, wherever they lived, to come toJerusalem and joyful y perform the dedication with hymns of thanksgiving and songs to the accompaniment ofcymbals, lyres and harps.
28 I cantori si radunarono dal distretto intorno a Gerusalemme, dai villaggi dei Netofatiti,	28 Accordingly, the levitical singers assembled from the district round Jerusalem, from the vil ages ofthe Netophathites,
29 da Bet-Gàlgala e dal territorio di Gheba e di Azmàvet, poiché i cantori si erano edificati villaggi nei dintorni di Gerusalemme.	29 from Beth-Gilgal and from their farms at Geba and Azmaveth -- for the singers had built themselvesvil ages al round Jerusalem.

36 e i suoi fratelli Semaià, Azarèl, Milalài, Ghilalài, Maài, Netanèl, Giuda, Anàni, con gli strumenti musicali di Davide, uomo di Dio; lo scriba Esdra era davanti a loro.	36 with his kinsmen, Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Juda, Hanani, with the musicalinstruments of David, man of God. 37 E alla porta della Fonte e davanti a loro salirono per le scale della Città di Davide lungo la salita del muro, oltre la casa di Davide, fino alla porta delle Acque, a oriente.	37 At the Fountain Gate they went straight on up the steps of the City of David, along the top of therampart by the stairway of the wal , above the Palace of David as far as the Water Gate, on the east.
38 Il secondo coro si incamminò a sinistra e io lo seguivo, con l’altra metà del popolo, sopra le mura, dalla torre dei Forni e fino al muro largo,	38 The other choir made its way to the left; I and half the leaders of the people fol owed them along thetop of the wal from the Tower of the Furnaces to the Broad Wall,
39 e dalla porta di Èfraim alla porta Vecchia e alla porta dei Pesci, alla torre di Cananèl e alla torre dei Cento, fino alla porta delle Pecore, e si fermarono alla porta della Prigione.	39 from the Ephraim Gate, the Fish Gate, the Tower of Hananel and the Tower of the Hundred as far asthe Sheep Gate, and they came to a halt at the Prison Gate.
40 I due cori si fermarono nel tempio di Dio; così feci io, con la metà dei magistrati che si trovavano con me	40 The two choirs then took their places in the Temple of God. But I had half the magistrates with me
41 e i sacerdoti Eliakìm, Maasia, Miniamìn, Michea, Elioenài, Zaccaria, Anania con le trombe,	41 as wel as the priests, Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, Hananiah with thetrumpets,
42 e Maasia, Semaià, Eleàzaro, Uzzì, Giovanni, Malchia, Elam, Ezer. I cantori facevano sentire la voce e Izrachia ne era il direttore.	42 and Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam and Ezer. The singers sangloudly under the direction of Jezrahiah.
43 In quel giorno il popolo offrì numerosi sacrifici e si rallegrò, perché Dio gli aveva concesso una grande gioia. Anche le donne e i fanciulli si rallegrarono e la gioia di Gerusalemme si sentiva di lontano.	43 There were great sacrifices offered that day and the people rejoiced, God having given them goodcause for rejoicing; the women and children rejoiced too, and the joy of Jerusalem could be heard from far away.
44 In quel giorno, alcuni uomini furono preposti alle stanze dei magazzini delle offerte, delle primizie e delle decime, per raccogliervi, dalle campagne di ogni località, le parti assegnate dalla legge ai sacerdoti e ai leviti, poiché i Giudei gioivano per i sacerdoti e i leviti intenti alle funzioni:	44 For the rooms intended for the treasures, contributions, first-fruits and tithes, supervisors were thenappointed whose business it was to col ect in them those portions from the town lands awarded by the Law tothe priests and Levites. For Judah rejoiced in the officiating priests and Levites,
45 essi svolgevano il servizio del loro Dio e il servizio della purificazione, come i cantori e i portieri, secondo l’ordine di Davide e di Salomone, suo figlio.	45 since they -- with the singers and gatekeepers -- performed the liturgy of their God and the rites of purification as ordained by David and his son Solomon.
46 Infatti, al tempo di Davide e di Asaf, in antico, vi erano capi cantori e canti di lode e di ringraziamento a Dio.	46 For from ancient times, from the days of David and Asaph, they had been the leaders in renderinghymns of praise and thanksgiving to God.
47 E tutto Israele, al tempo di Zorobabele e al tempo di Neemia, ogni giorno forniva le porzioni prescritte ai cantori e ai portieri e quelle consacrate ai leviti, i quali le davano ai figli di Aronne.	47 In the days of Zerubbabel and Nehemiah, al Israel supplied regular daily portions for the singers andgatekeepers, and gave the dedicated contributions to the Levites; and the Levites gave the dedicatedcontributions to the Aaronites.
