| 1 «“ Se una persona pecca perchè, udita la clausola imprecatoria ed essendo testimone per aver visto o saputo, non dichiara nulla, costei sconterà il peccato. | 1 "If any person refuses to give the information which, as a witness of something he has seen or learned, he has been adjured to give, and thus commits a sin and has guilt to bear; |
| 2 Se una persona tocca qualsiasi cosa impura, come il cadavere di una bestia impura, di un animale domestico impuro, di un rettile impuro, senza avvedersene, quando lo viene a sapere sarà responsabile. | 2 or if someone, without being aware of it, touches any unclean thing, as the carcass of an unclean wild animal, or that of an unclean domestic animal, or that of an unclean swarming creature, and thus becomes unclean and guilty; |
| 3 Se una persona tocca un’impurità umana qualsiasi il cui contatto rende impuro, senza avvedersene, quando lo viene a sapere sarà responsabile. | 3 or if someone, without being aware of it, touches some human uncleanness, whatever kind of uncleanness this may be, and then recognizes his guilt; |
| 4 Se una persona giura, sconsideratamente, a fior di labbra, in bene o in male qualsiasi cosa un uomo possa giurare sconsideratamente, senza avvedersene, quando lo viene a sapere sarà responsabile. | 4 or if someone, without being aware of it, rashly utters an oath to do good or evil, such as men are accustomed to utter rashly, and then recognizes that he is guilty of such an oath; |
| 5 Chi è responsabile in uno di questi casi confesserà ciò in cui ha peccato | 5 then whoever is guilty in any of these cases shall confess the sin he has incurred, |
| 6 e porterà a Jahve quale offerta di riparazione per il peccato commesso una femmina dal bestiame minuto, pecora o capra, in sacrificio espiatorio. Il sacerdote compirà per lui il rito espiatorio per purificarlo dal peccato. | 6 and as his sin offering for the sin he has committed he shall bring to the LORD a female animal from the flock, a ewe lamb or a she-goat. The priest shall then make atonement for his sin. |
| 7 Se le sue sostanze non sono sufficienti all'acquisto di un capo di bestiame minuto come offerta per il peccato di cui è responsabile, porterà a Jahve due tortore o due colombi: uno per il sacrificio espiatorio e l’altro per l’olocausto: | 7 "If, however, he cannot afford an animal of the flock, he shall bring to the LORD as the sin offering for his sin two turtledoves or two pigeons, one for a sin offering and the other for a holocaust. |
| 8 li porterà al sacerdote, il quale offrirà prima quello per il sacrificio espiatorio: afferrerà il collo con le unghie della mano, tirerà la testa verso la nuca ma non la staccherà. | 8 He shall bring them to the priest, who shall offer the one for the sin offering first. Snapping its head loose at the neck, yet without breaking it off completely, |
| 9 Con il sangue della vittima espiatoria spruzzerà la parete dell’altare e il sangue rimasto sarà spremuto alla base dell’altare: è un sacrificio espiatorio. | 9 he shall sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering against the side of the altar. The rest of the blood shall be squeezed out against the base of the altar. Such is the offering for sin. |
| 10 Del secondo farà un olocausto secondo il rituale. Il sacerdote compirà così per lui il rito espiatorio per purificarlo dal peccato commesso e gli sarà perdonato. | 10 The other bird shall be offered as a holocaust in the usual way. Thus the priest shall make atonement for the sin the man committed, and it will be forgiven. |
| 11 Se le sue sostanze non sono sufficienti per l’acquisto di due tortore o di due colombi, porterà come offerta per il peccato di cui è responsabile un decimo di efa di fior di farina come sacrificio espiatorio; sopra non porrà olio nè vi mettetà incenso poichè è un sacrificio espiatorio. | 11 "If he is unable to afford even two turtledoves or two pigeons, he shall present as a sin offering for his sin one tenth of an ephah of fine flour. He shall not put oil or frankincense on it, because it is a sin offering. |
| 12 La porterà al sacerdote e il sacerdote ne prenderà una manata come rievocazione, che farà salire in fumo sull’altare, sopra le vittime dell’olocausto di Jahve: è un sacrificio espiatorio. | 12 When he has brought it to the priest, the latter shall take a handful of this flour as a token offering, and this he shall burn as a sin offering on the altar with the other oblations of the LORD. |
| 13 Il sacerdote compirà per lui il rito espiatorioa causa del peccato commesso in uno di questi casi e gli sarà perdonato. Il sacerdote avrà gli stessi diritti che ha nell'oblazione. | 13 Thus the priest shall make atonement for the sin that the man committed in any of the above cases, and it will be forgiven. The rest of the flour, like the cereal offerings, shall belong to the priest." |
| 14 Jahve si rivolse a Mosè: | 14 The LORD said to Moses, |
| 15 « Se qualcuno commette una frode e pecca per inavvertenza contro le cose sacre di Jahve, porterà a Jahve come vittima di riparazione un montone senza difetto, dal bestiame minuto, a tua stima di più sicli d’argento, in base al peso del siclo del santuario, in sacrificio di riparazione, | 15 "If someone commits a sin by inadvertently cheating in the LORD'S sacred dues, he shall bring to the LORD as his guilt offering an unblemished ram from the flock, valued at two silver shekels according to the standard of the sanctuary shekel. |
| 16 e restituirà interamente ciò in cui peccò contro le cose sacre, con l’aggiunta di un quinto del valore e lo darà al sacerdote. Il sacerdote compirà per lui il rito espiatorio con il montone del sacrificio di riparazione e gli sarà perdonato. | 16 He shall also restore what he has sinfully withheld from the sanctuary, adding to it a fifth of its value. This is to be given to the priest, who shall then make atonement for him with the guilt-offering ram, and he will be forgiven. |
| 17 Se qualcuno, senza saperlo, pecca contro una delle prescrizioni di Jahve compiendo quelle azioni che non dovete compiere, sarà responsabile e sconterà la colpa; | 17 "If someone, without being aware of it, commits such a sin by doing one of the things which are forbidden by some commandment of the LORD, that he incurs guilt for which he must answer, |
| 18 porterà al sacerdote un montone senza difetto, dal bestiame minuto, a tua stima, in sacrificio di riparazione. Il sacerdote compirà per lui il rito espiatorio, a causa della inavvertenza commessa senza saperlo, e gli sarà perdonato. | 18 he shall bring as a guilt offering to the priest an unblemished ram of the flock of the established value. The priest shall then make atonement for the fault which was unwittingly committed, and it will be forgiven. |
| 19 È un sacrificio di riparazione; costui era certamente responsabile verso Jahve » | 19 Such is the offering for guilt; the penalty of the guilt must be paid to the LORD." |
| 20 Jahve si rivolse a Mosè: | 20 The LORD said to Moses, |
| 21 « Se qualcuno pecca e commette frode contro Jahve, negando al suo congiunto un deposito o un pegno o una cosa rubata, oppure opprime ingiustamente il suo prossimo; | 21 "If someone commits a sin of dishonesty against the LORD by denying his neighbor a deposit or a pledge for a stolen article, or by otherwise retaining his neighbor's goods unjustly, |
| 22 o ha trovato un oggetto perduto e lo nega, o giura il falso in merito a qualsiasi azione in cui un uomo può mancare: | 22 or if, having found a lost article, he denies the fact and swears falsely about it with any of the sinful oaths that men make in such cases, |
| 23 se così pecca e diventa responsabile, restituirà la cosa rubata o estorta con violenza, la cosa trattenuta ingiustamente, il deposito che ha custodito o l’oggetto perduto che aveva trovato | 23 he shall therefore, since he has incurred guilt by his sin, restore the thing that was stolen or unjustly retained by him or the deposit left with him or the lost article he found |
| 24 O qualsiasi cosa per cui ha giurato il falso, restituirà interamente con l’aggiunta di un quinto, dandolo a colui al quale appartiene nel giorno stesso in cui compie la riparazione. | 24 or whatever else he swore falsely about; on the day of his guilt offering he shall make full restitution of the thing itself, and in addition, give the owner one fifth of its value. |
| 25 Come vittima di riparazione per Jahve porterà un montone senza difetto, dal bestiame minuto, a tua stima, in sacrificio di riparazione al sacerdote; | 25 As his guilt offering he shall bring to the LORD an unblemished ram of the flock of the established value. When he has presented this as his guilt offering to the priest, |
| 26 il sacerdote compirà per lui il rito espiatorio al cospetto di Jahve e gli sarà perdonato, qualsiasi azione abbia compiuto rendendosi responsabile ». | 26 the latter shall make atonement for him before the LORD, and he will be forgiven whatever guilt he may have incurred." |
