Isaiah (ישעיה) - Isaia 72

MODERN HEBREW BIBLE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 לשלמה אלהים משפטיך למלך תן וצדקתך לבן מלך	1 [Of Solomon] God, endow the king with your own fair judgement, the son of the king with your ownsaving justice,
2 ידין עמך בצדק וענייך במשפט	2 that he may rule your people with justice, and your poor with fair judgement.
3 ישאו הרים שלום לעם וגבעות בצדקה	3 Mountains and hil s, bring peace to the people! With justice
4 ישפט עניי עם יושיע לבני אביון וידכא עושק	4 he wil judge the poor of the people, he wil save the children of the needy and crush their oppressors.
5 ייראוך עם שמש ולפני ירח דור דורים	5 In the sight of the sun and the moon he wil endure, age after age.
6 ירד כמטר על גז כרביבים זרזיף ארץ	6 He will come down like rain on mown grass, like showers moistening the land.
7 יפרח בימיו צדיק ורב שלום עד בלי ירח	7 In his days uprightness shal flourish, and peace in plenty till the moon is no more.
8 וירד מים עד ים ומנהר עד אפסי ארץ	8 His empire shal stretch from sea to sea, from the river to the limits of the earth.
9 לפניו יכרעו ציים ואיביו עפר ילחכו	9 The Beast wil cower before him, his enemies lick the dust;
10 מלכי תרשיש ואיים מנחה ישיבו מלכי שבא וסבא אשכר יקריבו	10 the kings of Tarshish and the islands wil pay him tribute. The kings of Sheba and Saba wil offer gifts;
11 וישתחוו לו כל מלכים כל גוים יעבדוהו	11 all kings will do him homage, al nations become his servants.
12 כי יציל אביון משוע ועני ואין עזר לו	12 For he rescues the needy who cal s to him, and the poor who has no one to help.
13 יחס על דל ואביון ונפשות אביונים יושיע	13 He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the needy from death.
14 מתוך ומחמס יגאל נפשם וייקר דמם בעיניו	14 From oppression and violence he redeems their lives, their blood is precious in his sight.
15 ויחי ויתן לו מזהב שבא ויתפלל בעדו תמיד כל היום יברכנהו	15 (Long may he live; may the gold of Sheba be given him!) Prayer wil be offered for him constantly,and blessings invoked on him al day.
16 יהי פסת בר בארץ בראש הרים ירעש כלבנון פריו ויציצו מעיר כעשב הארץ	16 May wheat abound in the land, waving on the heights of the hills, like Lebanon with its fruits andflowers at their best, like the grasses of the earth.
17 יהי שמו לעולם לפני שמש ינין שמו ויתברכו בו כל גוים יאשרוהו	17 May his name be blessed for ever, and endure in the sight of the sun. In him shal be blessed everyrace in the world, and all nations call him blessed.
18 ברוך יהוה אלהים אלהי ישראל עשה נפלאות לבדו	18 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders;
19 וברוך שם כבודו לעולם וימלא כבודו את כל הארץ אמן ואמן	19 blessed for ever his glorious name. May the whole world be fil ed with his glory! Amen! Amen!
