1 E alcuni giorni dopo entrò nuovamente in Cafarnaum.	1 And after some days, he again entered into Capernaum.
2 E si riseppe, ch'egli era nella casa, e si radunò molta gente; dimodoché non capivano nemmeno nello spazio d'intorno alla porta: e predicava loro la parola.	2 And it was heard that he was in the house. And so many gathered that there was no room left, not even at the door. And he spoke the word to them.
3 E venner da lui alcuni, che conducevano un paralitico portato da quattro persone.	3 And they came to him, bringing a paralytic, who was being carried by four men.
4 E non potendo presentarglielo per la folla, scoprirono il palco dalla parte, dov'egli stava: e fatta un'apertura, calarono il lettuccio, nel quale giaceva il paralitico.	4 And when they were not able to present him to him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was. And opening it, they lowered down the stretcher on which the paralytic was lying.
5 E Gesù veduta la loro fede, disse al paralitico: Figliuolo, ti son rimessi i tuoi peccati.	5 Then, when Jesus had seen their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”
6 Eran ivi a sedere alcnni degli Scribi, i quali andavano discorrendo in cuor loro:	6 But some of the scribes were sitting in that place and thinking in their hearts:
7 Perché cosi parla costui? egli bestemmia. Chi può perdonare i peccati, fuorichè il solo Dio?	7 “Why is this man speaking in this way? He is blaspheming. Who can forgive sins, but God alone?”
8 Ma avendo subito Gesù col suo spirito conosciuto, che in tal modo la discorrevano dentro di se, disse loro: Per qual motivo tali cose andate ruminando ne' vostri cuori?	8 At once, Jesus, realizing in his spirit that they were thinking this within themselves, said to them: “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?
9 Che cosa è più facile, il dire al paralitico: ti son rimessi i tuoi peccati: oppure il dire: Alzati, prendi il tuo letticciuolo e cammina?	9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up, take up your stretcher, and walk?’
10 Or affinchè voi sappiate, che il Figliuol dell'uomo ha potestà in terra di rimettere i peccati, (disse al paralitico):	10 But so that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” he said to the paralytic:
11 Dico a te: Sorgi, prendi il tuo letticciuolo, e vattene a casa tua.	11 “I say to you: Rise up, take up your stretcher, and go into your house.”
12 E immantinenti quegli si alzò: e preso il suo letticciuolo a vista di tutti, se ne andò; talmente che tutti restarono stupefatti, e glorificaron Dio, dicendo: Non mai abbiam visto simil cosa.	12 And immediately he got up, and lifting up his stretcher, he went away in the sight of them all, so that they all wondered. And they honored God, by saying, “We have never seen anything like this.”
13 Ed egli se ne andò di nuovo verso il mare: e lutto il popolo andava da lui, ed ei gli instruiva.	13 And he departed again to the sea. And the entire crowd came to him, and he taught them.
14 E in passando vide Levi figliuolo d'Alfeo, che sedeva al banco, e gli disse: Seguimi. Ed egli alzatosi lo seguitò.	14 And as he was passing by, he saw Levi of Alphaeus, sitting at the customs office. And he said to him, “Follow me.” And rising up, he followed him.
15 E avvenne, che, essendo egli a tavola nella casa di lui, molti pubblicani, e peccatori erano a mensa con Gesù, e con i suoi discepoli: imperocché molti (di quelli) v' erano, che lo seguivano.	15 And it happened that, as he sat at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners sat at table together with Jesus and his disciples. For those who followed him were many.
16 Or gli Scribi, e i Farisei al vederlo mangiare con i pubblicani, e i peccatori dicevano a' suoi discepoli: Per qual motivo il vostro Maestro mangia, e beve co' pubblicani, e peccatori?	16 And the scribes and the Pharisees, seeing that he ate with tax collectors and sinners, said to his disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”
17 Il che avendo udito Gesù, disse loro: Non han bisogno del medico i sani, ma i malati: imperocché non son venuto a chiamare i giusti, ma i peccatori.	17 Jesus, having heard this, said to them: “The healthy have no need of a doctor, but those who have maladies do. For I came not to call the just, but sinners.”
18 E i discepoli di Giovanni, e i Farisei facevano de' digiuni: vanno adunque, e dicono a lui: Per qual motivo i discepoli di Giovanni, e de' Farisei digiunano; e i tuoi discepoli non digiunano?	18 And the disciples of John, and the Pharisees, were fasting. And they arrived and said to him, “Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?”
19 E Gesù disse loro: possono forse i compagni dello sposo digiunare, fino a tanto che lo sposo è con essi? Mentre hanno con seco lo sposo, non possono digiunare.	19 And Jesus said to them: “How can the sons of the wedding fast while the groom is still with them? During whatever time they have the groom with them, they are not able to fast.
20 Ma tempo verrà, che sarà loro tolto lo sposo: e allora per quel tempo digiuneranno.	20 But the days will arrive when the groom will be taken away from them, and then they shall fast, in those days.
21 Nissuno cuce a un vestito vecchio un pezzo di panno nuovo: altrimenti la nuova giunta strappa del vecchio, e lo sdrucio diventa maggiore.	21 No one sews a patch of new cloth onto an old garment. Otherwise, the new addition pulls away from the old, and the tear becomes worse.
22 E nissuno mette il vino nuovo in otri vecchi: altrimenti il vino rompe gli otri, e il vino si versa, e gli otri vanno in malora; ma il vino nuovo va messo in otri nuovi.	22 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the wineskins, and the wine will pour out, and the wineskins will be lost. Instead, new wine must be put into new wineskins.”
23 Successe ancora, che, camminando il Signore in giorno di sabato pei seminati, i suoi discepoli cominciavano a inoltrarsi, e cogliere delle spighe.	23 And again, while the Lord was walking through the ripe grain on the Sabbath, his disciples, as they advanced, began to separate the ears of grains.
24 E i Farisei dicevano a lui: Ecco, perchè fanno eglino in giorno di sabato quello, che non è lecito?	24 But the Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbaths?”
25 Ed egli disse loro: Non avete mai letto o quello, che fece Davidde, trovandosi in necessità, e avendo fame egli, e i suoi compagni?	25 And he said to them: “Have you never read what David did, when he had need and was hungry, both he and those who were with him?
26 Come entrò nella casa di Dio, essendo sommo sacerdote Abiatar, e mangiò i pani della proposizione, de' quali non era lecito mangiare, se non a' soli sacerdoti, e ne dette a' suoi compagni?	26 How he went into the house of God, under the high priest Abiathar, and ate the bread of the Presence, which it was not lawful to eat, except for the priests, and how he gave it to those who were with him?”
27 E disse loro: Il sabato è stato fatto per l'uomo, e non l'uomo pel sabato.	27 And he said to them: “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
28 E adunque il Figliuolo dell'uomo padrone anche del sabato.	28 And so, the Son of man is Lord, even of the Sabbath.”
