ΛΕΥΙΤΙΚΟΝ - Levitico - Leviticus 5

LXX	NEW JERUSALEM
1 εαν δε ψυχη αμαρτη και ακουση φωνην ορκισμου και ουτος μαρτυς η εωρακεν η συνοιδεν εαν μη απαγγειλη λημψεται την αμαρτιαν	1 ' "If someone sins in any of these fol owing cases: "He should have come forward to give evidence whenhe heard the formal adjuration, having seen the incident or known the facts; but he has not spoken out, and sobears the consequences of his guilt;
2 η ψυχη ητις εαν αψηται παντος πραγματος ακαθαρτου η θνησιμαιου η θηριαλωτου ακαθαρτου η των θνησιμαιων η των βδελυγματων των ακαθαρτων η των θνησιμαιων κτηνων των ακαθαρτων	2 "or someone touches something unclean, whatever it may be -- the dead body of an unclean animal,wild or tame, or of one of the unclean reptiles -- and without realising it becomes unclean, he becomesanswerable for it;
3 η αψηται απο ακαθαρσιας ανθρωπου απο πασης ακαθαρσιας αυτου ης αν αψαμενος μιανθη και ελαθεν αυτον μετα τουτο δε γνω και πλημμεληση	3 "or he touches some human uncleanness, whatever it may be, contact with which makes him unclean;he does not notice it, then, realising it later, he becomes answerable for it;
4 η ψυχη η αν ομοση διαστελλουσα τοις χειλεσιν κακοποιησαι η καλως ποιησαι κατα παντα οσα εαν διαστειλη ο ανθρωπος μεθ' ορκου και λαθη αυτον προ οφθαλμων και ουτος γνω και αμαρτη εν τι τουτων	4 "or someone lets slip an oath to do something either evil or good, in any of those matters on whichsomeone may let slip an oath; he does not notice it, then, realising it later, he becomes answerable for it;
5 και εξαγορευσει την αμαρτιαν περι ων ημαρτηκεν κατ' αυτης	5 "if he is answerable in any of those cases, he wil have to confess the sin committed.
6 και οισει περι ων επλημμελησεν κυριω περι της αμαρτιας ης ημαρτεν θηλυ απο των προβατων αμναδα η χιμαιραν εξ αιγων περι αμαρτιας και εξιλασεται περι αυτου ο ιερευς περι της αμαρτιας αυτου ης ημαρτεν και αφεθησεται αυτω η αμαρτια	6 As a sacrifice of reparation for the sin committed, he wil bring Yahweh a female from the flock (sheep orgoat) as a sacrifice for sin; and the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him to free him from his sin.
7 εαν δε μη ισχυση η χειρ αυτου το ικανον εις το προβατον οισει περι της αμαρτιας αυτου ης ημαρτεν δυο τρυγονας η δυο νεοσσους περιστερων κυριω ενα περι αμαρτιας και ενα εις ολοκαυτωμα	7 "If he cannot afford an animal from the flock as a sacrifice of reparation for the sin he has committed, hewil bring Yahweh two turtledoves or two young pigeons -- one as a sacrifice for sin and the other as a burntoffering.
8 και οισει αυτα προς τον ιερεα και προσαξει ο ιερευς το περι της αμαρτιας προτερον και αποκνισει ο ιερευς την κεφαλην αυτου απο του σφονδυλου και ου διελει	8 He wil bring them to the priest who wil first offer the one intended for the sacrifice for sin. The priest wilwring its neck but not remove the head.
9 και ρανει απο του αιματος του περι της αμαρτιας επι τον τοιχον του θυσιαστηριου το δε καταλοιπον του αιματος καταστραγγιει επι την βασιν του θυσιαστηριου αμαρτιας γαρ εστιν	9 He wil sprinkle the side of the altar with the victim's blood, and then squeeze out the rest of the blood atthe foot of the altar. This is a sacrifice for sin.
10 και το δευτερον ποιησει ολοκαυτωμα ως καθηκει και εξιλασεται ο ιερευς περι της αμαρτιας αυτου ης ημαρτεν και αφεθησεται αυτω	10 He will then offer the other bird as a burnt offering according to the ritual. This is how the priest mustperform the rite of expiation for the person for the sin he has committed, and he will be forgiven.
11 εαν δε μη ευρισκη αυτου η χειρ ζευγος τρυγονων η δυο νεοσσους περιστερων και οισει το δωρον αυτου περι ου ημαρτεν το δεκατον του οιφι σεμιδαλιν περι αμαρτιας ουκ επιχεει επ' αυτο ελαιον ουδε επιθησει επ' αυτο λιβανον οτι περι αμαρτιας εστιν	11 "If he cannot afford two turtledoves or two young pigeons, he will bring a tenth of an ephah of wheatenflour as an offering for the sin committed; he must not mix oil with it or put incense on it, since this is a sacrificefor sin.
12 και οισει αυτο προς τον ιερεα και δραξαμενος ο ιερευς απ' αυτης πληρη την δρακα το μνημοσυνον αυτης επιθησει επι το θυσιαστηριον των ολοκαυτωματων κυριω αμαρτια εστιν	12 He will bring it to the priest, who wil take a handful of it as a memorial, and burn this on the altar inaddition to the offerings of food burnt for Yahweh. This is a sacrifice for sin.
13 και εξιλασεται περι αυτου ο ιερευς περι της αμαρτιας αυτου ης ημαρτεν εφ' ενος τουτων και αφεθησεται αυτω το δε καταλειφθεν εσται τω ιερει ως η θυσια της σεμιδαλεως	13 This is how the priest must perform the rite of expiation for the person for the sin he has committed inany of those cases, and he wil be forgiven. In this case, the priest has the same rights as in the case of a cerealoffering." '
14 και ελαλησεν κυριος προς μωυσην λεγων	14 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
15 ψυχη εαν λαθη αυτον ληθη και αμαρτη ακουσιως απο των αγιων κυριου και οισει της πλημμελειας αυτου τω κυριω κριον αμωμον εκ των προβατων τιμης αργυριου σικλων τω σικλω των αγιων περι ου επλημμελησεν	15 'If someone is unfaithful and sins inadvertently by infringing Yahweh's sacred rights, as a sacrifice ofreparation he must bring Yahweh an unblemished ram from his flock, the value of which wil be decided by youin silver shekels according to the rate of the sanctuary-shekel.
16 και ο ημαρτεν απο των αγιων αποτεισαι αυτο και το επιπεμπτον προσθησει επ' αυτο και δωσει αυτο τω ιερει και ο ιερευς εξιλασεται περι αυτου εν τω κριω της πλημμελειας και αφεθησεται αυτω	16 He will make amends for what his sin subtracted from the sacred rights, adding one-fifth to the value,and give it to the priest. The priest wil then perform the rite of expiation for him with the ram for the sacrifice ofreparation and he wil be forgiven.
17 και η ψυχη η αν αμαρτη και ποιηση μιαν απο πασων των εντολων κυριου ων ου δει ποιειν και ουκ εγνω και πλημμεληση και λαβη την αμαρτιαν	17 'If someone sins and without realising it does one of the things forbidden by Yahweh'scommandments, he will answer for it and bear the consequences of his guilt.
18 και οισει κριον αμωμον εκ των προβατων τιμης αργυριου εις πλημμελειαν προς τον ιερεα και εξιλασεται περι αυτου ο ιερευς περι της αγνοιας αυτου ης ηγνοησεν και αυτος ουκ ηδει και αφεθησεται αυτω	18 As a sacrifice of reparation he must bring the priest an unblemished ram from his flock to the valuewhich you decide, and the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him for the oversight unwittingly committed,and he wil be forgiven.
19 επλημμελησεν γαρ πλημμελησιν εναντι κυριου	19 This is a sacrifice of reparation; the man was certainly answerable to Yahweh.'
20 και ελαλησεν κυριος προς μωυσην λεγων	20 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
21 ψυχη εαν αμαρτη και παριδων παριδη τας εντολας κυριου και ψευσηται τα προς τον πλησιον εν παραθηκη η περι κοινωνιας η περι αρπαγης η ηδικησεν τι τον πλησιον	21 'If someone sins and is unfaithful against Yahweh by deceiving his fel ow-countryman over a deposit ora security, or by withholding something due to him or by exploiting him;
22 η ευρεν απωλειαν και ψευσηται περι αυτης και ομοση αδικως περι ενος απο παντων ων εαν ποιηση ο ανθρωπος ωστε αμαρτειν εν τουτοις	22 'or if he finds lost property and denies it; 'or if he perjures himself about anything that a human beingmay do criminal y in such matters;
23 και εσται ηνικα εαν αμαρτη και πλημμεληση και αποδω το αρπαγμα ο ηρπασεν η το αδικημα ο ηδικησεν η την παραθηκην ητις παρετεθη αυτω η την απωλειαν ην ευρεν	23 'if he sins and so becomes answerable, he must restore what he has taken or demanded in excess:the deposit confided to him, the lost property that he has found,
24 απο παντος πραγματος ου ωμοσεν περι αυτου αδικως και αποτεισει αυτο το κεφαλαιον και το πεμπτον προσθησει επ' αυτο τινος εστιν αυτω αποδωσει η ημερα ελεγχθη	24 or any object about which he has perjured himself. He will add one-fifth to the principal and pay thewhole to the person who held the property rights on the day when he incurred the guilt.
25 και της πλημμελειας αυτου οισει τω κυριω κριον απο των προβατων αμωμον τιμης εις ο επλημμελησεν αυτω	25 He will then bring Yahweh an unblemished ram from his flock to the value which you decide, to thepriest as a sacrifice of reparation,
26 και εξιλασεται περι αυτου ο ιερευς εναντι κυριου και αφεθησεται αυτω περι ενος απο παντων ων εποιησεν και επλημμελησεν αυτω	26 and the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh and he will be forgiven, whateverthe act by which he incurred guilt.'
