LXXNEW AMERICAN BIBLE
και συνετελεσθη πασα η εργασια ην εποιησεν σαλωμων εν οικω κυριου και εισηνεγκεν σαλωμων τα αγια δαυιδ του πατρος αυτου το αργυριον και το χρυσιον και τα σκευη εδωκεν εις θησαυρον οικου κυριου1 When all the work undertaken by Solomon for the temple of the LORD had been completed, he brought in the dedicated offerings of his father David, putting the silver, the gold and all the other articles in the treasuries of the house of God.
τοτε εξεκκλησιασεν σαλωμων τους πρεσβυτερους ισραηλ και παντας τους αρχοντας των φυλων τους ηγουμενους πατριων υιων ισραηλ εις ιερουσαλημ του ανενεγκαι κιβωτον διαθηκης κυριου εκ πολεως δαυιδ αυτη σιων2 At Solomon's order the elders of Israel and all the leaders of the tribes, the princes of the Israelite ancestral houses, came to Jerusalem to bring up the ark of the LORD'S covenant from the City of David (which is Zion).
και εξεκκλησιασθησαν προς τον βασιλεα πας ανηρ ισραηλ εν τη εορτη ουτος ο μην εβδομος3 All the men of Israel assembled before the king during the festival of the seventh month.
και ηλθον παντες οι πρεσβυτεροι ισραηλ και ελαβον παντες οι λευιται την κιβωτον4 When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the Levites took up the ark,
και ανηνεγκαν την κιβωτον και την σκηνην του μαρτυριου και παντα τα σκευη τα αγια τα εν τη σκηνη και ανηνεγκαν αυτην οι ιερεις και οι λευιται5 and they carried the ark and the meeting tent with all the sacred vessels that were in the tent; it was the levitical priests who carried them.
και ο βασιλευς σαλωμων και πασα συναγωγη ισραηλ και οι φοβουμενοι και οι επισυνηγμενοι αυτων εμπροσθεν της κιβωτου θυοντες μοσχους και προβατα οι ουκ αριθμηθησονται και οι ου λογισθησονται απο του πληθους6 King Solomon and the entire community of Israel gathered about him before the ark were sacrificing sheep and oxen so numerous that they could not be counted or numbered.
και εισηνεγκαν οι ιερεις την κιβωτον διαθηκης κυριου εις τον τοπον αυτης εις το δαβιρ του οικου εις τα αγια των αγιων υποκατω των πτερυγων των χερουβιν7 The priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place beneath the wings of the cherubim in the sanctuary, the holy of holies of the temple.
και ην τα χερουβιν διαπεπετακοτα τας πτερυγας αυτων επι τον τοπον της κιβωτου και συνεκαλυπτεν τα χερουβιν επι την κιβωτον και επι τους αναφορεις αυτης επανωθεν8 The cherubim had their wings spread out over the place of the ark, sheltering the ark and its poles from above.
και υπερειχον οι αναφορεις και εβλεποντο αι κεφαλαι των αναφορεων εκ των αγιων εις προσωπον του δαβιρ ουκ εβλεποντο εξω και ησαν εκει εως της ημερας ταυτης9 The poles were long enough so that their ends could be seen from that part of the holy place nearest the sanctuary; however, they could not be seen beyond. The ark has remained there to this day.
ουκ ην εν τη κιβωτω πλην δυο πλακες ας εθηκεν μωυσης εν χωρηβ α διεθετο κυριος μετα των υιων ισραηλ εν τω εξελθειν αυτους εκ γης αιγυπτου10 There was nothing in it but the two tablets which Moses put there on Horeb, the tablets of the covenant which the LORD made with the Israelites at their departure from Egypt.
και εγενετο εν τω εξελθειν τους ιερεις εκ των αγιων οτι παντες οι ιερεις οι ευρεθεντες ηγιασθησαν ουκ ησαν διατεταγμενοι κατ' εφημεριαν11 When the priests came out of the holy place (all the priests who were present had purified themselves without reference to the rotation of their various classes),
και οι λευιται οι ψαλτωδοι παντες τοις υιοις ασαφ τω αιμαν τω ιδιθουν και τοις υιοις αυτων και τοις αδελφοις αυτων των ενδεδυμενων στολας βυσσινας εν κυμβαλοις και εν ναβλαις και εν κινυραις εστηκοτες κατεναντι του θυσιαστηριου και μετ' αυτων ιερεις εκατον εικοσι σαλπιζοντες ταις σαλπιγξιν12 the Levites who were singers, all who belonged to Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and brothers, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps and lyres, stood east of the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests blowing trumpets.
και εγενετο μια φωνη εν τω σαλπιζειν και εν τω ψαλτωδειν και εν τω αναφωνειν φωνη μια του εξομολογεισθαι και αινειν τω κυριω και ως υψωσαν φωνην εν σαλπιγξιν και εν κυμβαλοις και εν οργανοις των ωδων και ελεγον εξομολογεισθε τω κυριω οτι αγαθον οτι εις τον αιωνα το ελεος αυτου και ο οικος ενεπλησθη νεφελης δοξης κυριου13 When the trumpeters and singers were heard as a single voice praising and giving thanks to the LORD, and when they raised the sound of the trumpets, cymbals and other musical instruments to "give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever," the building of the LORD'S temple was filled with a cloud.
και ουκ ηδυναντο οι ιερεις του στηναι λειτουργειν απο προσωπου της νεφελης οτι ενεπλησεν δοξα κυριου τον οικον του θεου14 The priests could not continue to minister because of the cloud, since the LORD'S glory filled the house of God.
