LXX	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 και απεστρεψεν ιωσαφατ βασιλευς ιουδα εις τον οικον αυτου εν ειρηνη εις ιερουσαλημ	1 King Jehoshaphat of Judah returned in safety to his house in Jerusalem.
2 και εξηλθεν εις απαντησιν αυτου ιου ο του ανανι ο προφητης και ειπεν αυτω βασιλευ ιωσαφατ ει αμαρτωλω συ βοηθεις η μισουμενω υπο κυριου φιλιαζεις δια τουτο εγενετο επι σε οργη παρα κυριου	2 Jehu the seer, son of Hanani, met King Jehoshaphat and said to him: "Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the LORD? For this reason, wrath is upon you from the LORD.
3 αλλ' η λογοι αγαθοι ηυρεθησαν εν σοι οτι εξηρας τα αλση απο της γης ιουδα και κατηυθυνας την καρδιαν σου εκζητησαι τον κυριον	3 Yet some good things are to be found in you, since you have removed the sacred poles from the land and have been determined to seek God."
4 και κατωκησεν ιωσαφατ εν ιερουσαλημ και παλιν εξηλθεν εις τον λαον απο βηρσαβεε εως ορους εφραιμ και επεστρεψεν αυτους επι κυριον θεον των πατερων αυτων	4 Jehoshaphat dwelt in Jerusalem; but he went out again among the people from Beer-sheba to the highlands of Ephraim and brought them back to the LORD, the God of their fathers.
5 και κατεστησεν κριτας εν πασαις ταις πολεσιν ιουδα ταις οχυραις εν πολει και πολει	5 He appointed judges in the land, in all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city,
6 και ειπεν τοις κριταις ιδετε τι υμεις ποιειτε οτι ουκ ανθρωπω υμεις κρινετε αλλ' η τω κυριω και μεθ' υμων λογοι της κρισεως	6 and he said to them: "Take care what you do, for you are judging, not on behalf of man, but on behalf of the LORD; he judges with you.
7 και νυν γενεσθω φοβος κυριου εφ' υμας και φυλασσετε και ποιησετε οτι ουκ εστιν μετα κυριου θεου ημων αδικια ουδε θαυμασαι προσωπον ουδε λαβειν δωρα	7 And now, let the fear of the LORD be upon you. Act carefully, for with the LORD, our God there is no injustice, no partiality, no bribe-taking."
8 και γαρ εν ιερουσαλημ κατεστησεν ιωσαφατ των ιερεων και των λευιτων και των πατριαρχων ισραηλ εις κρισιν κυριου και κρινειν τους κατοικουντας εν ιερουσαλημ	8 In Jerusalem also, Jehoshaphat appointed some Levites and priests and some of the family heads of Israel to judge in the name of the LORD and to settle quarrels among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
9 και ενετειλατο προς αυτους λεγων ουτως ποιησετε εν φοβω κυριου εν αληθεια και εν πληρει καρδια	9 He gave them this command: "You shall act faithfully and wholeheartedly in the fear of the LORD.
10 πας ανηρ κρισιν την ελθουσαν εφ' υμας των αδελφων υμων των κατοικουντων εν ταις πολεσιν αυτων ανα μεσον αιματος αιμα και ανα μεσον προσταγματος και εντολης και δικαιωματα και κριματα και διαστελεισθε αυτοις και ουχ αμαρτησονται τω κυριω και ουκ εσται εφ' υμας οργη και επι τους αδελφους υμων ουτως ποιησετε και ουχ αμαρτησεσθε	10 And in every dispute that your brethren living in their cities bring to you, whether it concerns bloodguilt or questions of law, command, statutes, or judgments, warn them lest they become guilty before the LORD and his wrath come upon you and your brethren. Do that and you shall be guiltless.
11 και ιδου αμαριας ο ιερευς ηγουμενος εφ' υμας εις παν λογον κυριου και ζαβδιας υιος ισμαηλ ο ηγουμενος εις οικον ιουδα προς παν λογον βασιλεως και οι γραμματεις και οι λευιται προ προσωπου υμων ισχυσατε και ποιησατε και εσται κυριος μετα του αγαθου	11 See now, Amariah is high priest over you in everything that pertains to the LORD, and Zebadiah, son of Ishmael, is leader of the house of Judah in all that pertains to the king; and the Levites will be your officials. Act firmly, and the LORD will be with the good."
