1 Quando una persona ha udito una formula di scongiuro e ne è testimone, perché l’ha visto o l’ha saputo, e pecca perché non dichiara nulla, porterà il peso della sua colpa;	1 "If any person refuses to give the information which, as a witness of something he has seen or learned, he has been adjured to give, and thus commits a sin and has guilt to bear;
2 oppure quando qualcuno, senza avvedersene, tocca una cosa impura, come il cadavere di una bestia selvatica o il cadavere di un animale domestico o quello di un rettile, rimarrà egli stesso impuro e in condizione di colpa;	2 or if someone, without being aware of it, touches any unclean thing, as the carcass of an unclean wild animal, or that of an unclean domestic animal, or that of an unclean swarming creature, and thus becomes unclean and guilty;
3 oppure quando, senza avvedersene, tocca un’impurità propria della persona umana – una qualunque delle cose per le quali l’uomo diviene impuro – quando verrà a saperlo, sarà in condizione di colpa;	3 or if someone, without being aware of it, touches some human uncleanness, whatever kind of uncleanness this may be, and then recognizes his guilt;
4 oppure quando qualcuno, senza avvedersene, parlando con leggerezza, avrà giurato, con uno di quei giuramenti che gli uomini proferiscono alla leggera, di fare qualche cosa di male o di bene, quando se ne rende conto, sarà in condizione di colpa.	4 or if someone, without being aware of it, rashly utters an oath to do good or evil, such as men are accustomed to utter rashly, and then recognizes that he is guilty of such an oath;
5 Quando sarà in condizione di colpa a causa di uno di questi fatti, dovrà confessare in che cosa ha peccato;	5 then whoever is guilty in any of these cases shall confess the sin he has incurred,
6 poi porterà al Signore, come riparazione del peccato commesso, una femmina del bestiame minuto, pecora o capra, per il sacrificio espiatorio; il sacerdote compirà in suo favore il rito espiatorio per il peccato.	6 and as his sin offering for the sin he has committed he shall bring to the LORD a female animal from the flock, a ewe lamb or a she-goat. The priest shall then make atonement for his sin.
7 Se non ha mezzi per procurarsi una pecora o una capra, porterà al Signore, come riparazione per il peccato commesso, due tortore o due colombi: uno come sacrificio per il peccato, l’altro come olocausto.	7 "If, however, he cannot afford an animal of the flock, he shall bring to the LORD as the sin offering for his sin two turtledoves or two pigeons, one for a sin offering and the other for a holocaust.
8 Li porterà al sacerdote, il quale offrirà prima quello destinato al sacrificio per il peccato: gli spaccherà la testa all’altezza della nuca, ma senza staccarla;	8 He shall bring them to the priest, who shall offer the one for the sin offering first. Snapping its head loose at the neck, yet without breaking it off completely,
9 poi spargerà un po’ del sangue della vittima offerta per il peccato sopra la parete dell’altare e farà colare il resto del sangue alla base dell’altare. È un sacrificio per il peccato.	9 he shall sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering against the side of the altar. The rest of the blood shall be squeezed out against the base of the altar. Such is the offering for sin.
10 Con l’altro uccello offrirà un olocausto, secondo le norme stabilite. Così il sacerdote compirà per lui il rito espiatorio per il peccato commesso e gli sarà perdonato.	10 The other bird shall be offered as a holocaust in the usual way. Thus the priest shall make atonement for the sin the man committed, and it will be forgiven.
11 Ma se non ha mezzi per procurarsi due tortore o due colombi, porterà, come offerta per il peccato commesso, un decimo di efa di fior di farina, come sacrificio per il peccato; non vi metterà né olio né incenso, perché è un sacrificio per il peccato.	11 "If he is unable to afford even two turtledoves or two pigeons, he shall present as a sin offering for his sin one tenth of an ephah of fine flour. He shall not put oil or frankincense on it, because it is a sin offering.
12 Porterà la farina al sacerdote, che ne prenderà una manciata come suo memoriale, facendola bruciare sull’altare, in aggiunta alle vittime consumate dal fuoco in onore del Signore. È un sacrificio per il peccato.	12 When he has brought it to the priest, the latter shall take a handful of this flour as a token offering, and this he shall burn as a sin offering on the altar with the other oblations of the LORD.
13 Così il sacerdote compirà per lui il rito espiatorio per il peccato commesso in uno dei casi suddetti e gli sarà perdonato. Il resto spetta al sacerdote, come nell’oblazione”».	13 Thus the priest shall make atonement for the sin that the man committed in any of the above cases, and it will be forgiven. The rest of the flour, like the cereal offerings, shall belong to the priest."
14 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e disse:	14 The LORD said to Moses,
15 «Se qualcuno commetterà un’infedeltà e peccherà per errore riguardo a cose consacrate al Signore, porterà al Signore, come sacrificio di riparazione, un ariete senza difetto, preso dal gregge, corrispondente al valore stabilito in sicli d’argento, conformi al siclo del santuario;	15 "If someone commits a sin by inadvertently cheating in the LORD'S sacred dues, he shall bring to the LORD as his guilt offering an unblemished ram from the flock, valued at two silver shekels according to the standard of the sanctuary shekel.
16 risarcirà il danno fatto al santuario, aggiungendovi un quinto, e lo darà al sacerdote, il quale compirà per lui il rito espiatorio con l’ariete offerto come sacrificio di riparazione e gli sarà perdonato.	16 He shall also restore what he has sinfully withheld from the sanctuary, adding to it a fifth of its value. This is to be given to the priest, who shall then make atonement for him with the guilt-offering ram, and he will be forgiven.
17 Quando qualcuno peccherà facendo, senza saperlo, una cosa vietata dal Signore, sarà comunque in condizione di colpa e ne porterà il peso.	17 "If someone, without being aware of it, commits such a sin by doing one of the things which are forbidden by some commandment of the LORD, that he incurs guilt for which he must answer,
18 Porterà al sacerdote, come sacrificio di riparazione, un ariete senza difetto, preso dal bestiame minuto, corrispondente al valore stabilito; il sacerdote compirà per lui il rito espiatorio per l’errore commesso per ignoranza e gli sarà perdonato.	18 he shall bring as a guilt offering to the priest an unblemished ram of the flock of the established value. The priest shall then make atonement for the fault which was unwittingly committed, and it will be forgiven.
19 È un sacrificio di riparazione; quell’individuo infatti si era messo in condizione di colpa verso il Signore».	19 Such is the offering for guilt; the penalty of the guilt must be paid to the LORD."
20 Il Signore parlò a Mosè dicendo:	20 The LORD said to Moses,
21 «Quando qualcuno peccherà e commetterà un’infedeltà verso il Signore, perché inganna il suo prossimo riguardo a depositi, a pegni o a oggetti rubati, oppure perché ricatta il suo prossimo,	21 "If someone commits a sin of dishonesty against the LORD by denying his neighbor a deposit or a pledge for a stolen article, or by otherwise retaining his neighbor's goods unjustly,
22 o perché, trovando una cosa smarrita, mente in proposito e giura il falso riguardo a una cosa in cui uno commette peccato,	22 or if, having found a lost article, he denies the fact and swears falsely about it with any of the sinful oaths that men make in such cases,
23 se avrà così peccato, si troverà in condizione di colpa. Dovrà restituire la cosa rubata o ottenuta con ricatto o il deposito che gli era stato affidato o l’oggetto smarrito che aveva trovato	23 he shall therefore, since he has incurred guilt by his sin, restore the thing that was stolen or unjustly retained by him or the deposit left with him or the lost article he found
24 o qualunque cosa per cui abbia giurato il falso. Farà la restituzione per intero, aggiungendovi un quinto, e renderà ciò al proprietario nel giorno in cui farà la riparazione.	24 or whatever else he swore falsely about; on the day of his guilt offering he shall make full restitution of the thing itself, and in addition, give the owner one fifth of its value.
25 Come riparazione al Signore, porterà al sacerdote un ariete senza difetto, preso dal gregge, corrispondente al valore stabilito, per il sacrificio di riparazione.	25 As his guilt offering he shall bring to the LORD an unblemished ram of the flock of the established value. When he has presented this as his guilt offering to the priest,
26 Il sacerdote compirà per lui il rito espiatorio davanti al Signore e gli sarà perdonato, qualunque sia la mancanza di cui si è reso colpevole».	26 the latter shall make atonement for him before the LORD, and he will be forgiven whatever guilt he may have incurred."
