1 Quanto sei bella, amata mia, quanto sei bella! Gli occhi tuoi sono colombe, dietro il tuo velo. Le tue chiome sono come un gregge di capre, che scendono dal monte Gàlaad.	1 LOVER: How beautiful you are, my beloved, how beautiful you are! Your eyes are doves, behind yourveil; your hair is like a flock of goats surging down Mount Gilead.
2 I tuoi denti come un gregge di pecore tosate, che risalgono dal bagno; tutte hanno gemelli, nessuna di loro è senza figli.	2 Your teeth, a flock of sheep to be shorn when they come up from the washing. Each one has its twin,not one unpaired with another.
3 Come nastro di porpora le tue labbra, la tua bocca è piena di fascino; come spicchio di melagrana è la tua tempia dietro il tuo velo.	3 Your lips are a scarlet thread and your words enchanting. Your cheeks, behind your veil, are halves ofpomegranate.
4 Il tuo collo è come la torre di Davide, costruita a strati. Mille scudi vi sono appesi, tutte armature di eroi.	4 Your neck is the Tower of David built on layers, hung round with a thousand bucklers, and each theshield of a hero.
5 I tuoi seni sono come due cerbiatti, gemelli di una gazzella, che pascolano tra i gigli.	5 Your two breasts are two fawns, twins of a gazel e, that feed among the lilies.
6 Prima che spiri la brezza del giorno e si allunghino le ombre, me ne andrò sul monte della mirra e sul colle dell’incenso.	6 Before the day-breeze rises, before the shadows flee, I shal go to the mountain of myrrh, to the hil offrankincense.

Scendi dalla vetta dell’Amana, dalla cima del Senir e dell’Ermon, dalle spelonche dei leoni, dai monti dei leopardi.	8 Come from Lebanon, my promised bride, come from Lebanon, come on your way. Look down from theheights of Amanus, from the crests of Senir and Hermon, the haunt of lions, the mountains of leopards.

13 I tuoi germogli sono un paradiso di melagrane, con i frutti più squisiti, alberi di cipro e nardo,	13 Your shoots form an orchard of pomegranate trees, bearing most exquisite fruit:

16 Àlzati, vento del settentrione, vieni, vieni vento del meridione, soffia nel mio giardino, si effondano i suoi aromi. Venga l’amato mio nel suo giardino e ne mangi i frutti squisiti.	16 BELOVED: Awake, north wind, come, wind of the south! Breathe over my garden, to spread its sweetsmel around. Let my love come into his garden, let him taste its most exquisite fruits.
