1 Farai un altare sul quale bruciare l’incenso: lo farai di legno di acacia.	1 'You will make an altar on which to burn incense; you wil make it of acacia wood,
2 Avrà un cubito di lunghezza e un cubito di larghezza: sarà quadrato; avrà due cubiti di altezza e i suoi corni costituiranno un solo pezzo con esso.	2 one cubit long, and one cubit wide -- it must be square -- and two cubits high; its horns must be of apiece with it.
3 Rivestirai d’oro puro il suo piano, i suoi lati, i suoi corni e gli farai intorno un bordo d’oro.	3 You will overlay its top, its sides all round and its horns with pure gold and make a gold moulding to goal round.
4 Farai anche due anelli d’oro al di sotto del bordo, sui due fianchi, ponendoli cioè sui due lati opposti: serviranno per inserire le stanghe destinate a trasportarlo.	4 You will make two gold rings for it below the moulding on its two opposite sides, to take the shaftsused for carrying it.
5 Farai le stanghe di legno di acacia e le rivestirai d’oro.	5 You will make the shafts of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.
6 Porrai l’altare davanti al velo che nasconde l’arca della Testimonianza, di fronte al propiziatorio che è sopra la Testimonianza, dove io ti darò convegno.	6 'You will put it in front of the curtain by the ark of Testimony, in front of the mercy-seat which is on theTestimony, where I shal meet you.
7 Aronne brucerà su di esso l’incenso aromatico: lo brucerà ogni mattina, quando riordinerà le lampade,	7 On it Aaron wil burn fragrant incense each morning; when he trims the lamps, he will burn incense onit;
8 e lo brucerà anche al tramonto, quando Aronne riempirà le lampade: incenso perenne davanti al Signore di generazione in generazione.	8 and when Aaron puts back the lamps at twilight, he will burn incense on it, incense perpetual y beforeYahweh for all your generations to come.
9 Non vi offrirete sopra incenso illegittimo né olocausto né oblazione, né vi verserete libagione.	9 You will not offer unauthorised incense, or burnt offering, or cereal offering on it, and you will not pourany libation over it.
10 Una volta all’anno Aronne compirà il rito espiatorio sui corni di esso: con il sangue del sacrificio espiatorio per il peccato compirà sopra di esso, una volta all’anno, il rito espiatorio di generazione in generazione. È cosa santissima per il Signore».	10 Once a year, Aaron wil perform the rite of expiation on the horns of the altar; once a year, on the Dayof Expiation, with the blood of the sacrifice for sin, he wil make expiation for himself, for al your generations tocome. It is especial y holy for Yahweh.'
11 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e gli disse:	11 Yahweh then spoke to Moses and said,
12 «Quando per il censimento conterai uno per uno gli Israeliti, all’atto del censimento ciascuno di essi pagherà al Signore il riscatto della sua vita, perché non li colpisca un flagello in occasione del loro censimento.	12 'When you count the Israelites by census, each one of them must pay Yahweh a ransom for his life,to avoid any incidence of plague among them while you are holding the census.
13 Chiunque verrà sottoposto al censimento, pagherà un mezzo siclo, conforme al siclo del santuario, il siclo di venti ghera. Questo mezzo siclo sarà un’offerta prelevata in onore del Signore.	13 Everyone subject to the census wil pay half a shekel, reckoning by the sanctuary shekel: twentygerah to the shekel. This half-shekel will be set aside for Yahweh.
14 Ogni persona sottoposta al censimento, dai venti anni in su, corrisponderà l’offerta prelevata per il Signore.	14 Everyone subject to the census, that is to say of twenty years and over, will pay the sum set aside forYahweh.
15 Il ricco non darà di più e il povero non darà di meno di mezzo siclo, per soddisfare all’offerta prelevata per il Signore, a riscatto delle vostre vite.	15 The rich man must not give more, nor the poor man less, than half a shekel when he pays the sumset aside for Yahweh in ransom for your lives.
16 Prenderai il denaro espiatorio ricevuto dagli Israeliti e lo impiegherai per il servizio della tenda del convegno. Esso sarà per gli Israeliti come un memoriale davanti al Signore, per il riscatto delle vostre vite».	16 You wil take the ransom money of the Israelites and apply it to the service of the Tent of Meeting, forit to be a reminder of the Israelites before Yahweh, as the ransom for your lives.'
17 Il Signore parlò a Mosè:	17 Yahweh then spoke to Moses and said,
18 «Farai per le abluzioni un bacino di bronzo con il piedistallo di bronzo; lo collocherai tra la tenda del convegno e l’altare e vi metterai acqua.	18 'You wil also make a bronze basin on its bronze stand, for washing. You wil put it between the Tentof Meeting and the altar and put water in it,
19 Aronne e i suoi figli vi attingeranno per lavarsi le mani e i piedi.	19 in which Aaron and his sons wil wash their hands and feet.
20 Quando entreranno nella tenda del convegno, faranno un’abluzione con l’acqua, perché non muoiano; così quando si avvicineranno all’altare per officiare, per bruciare un’offerta da consumare con il fuoco in onore del Signore,	20 Whenever they are to enter the Tent of Meeting, they wil wash, to avoid incurring death; andwhenever they approach the altar for their service, to burn an offering for Yahweh,
21 si laveranno le mani e i piedi e non moriranno. È una prescrizione rituale perenne per Aronne e per i suoi discendenti, in tutte le loro generazioni».	21 they wil wash their hands and feet, to avoid incurring death. This is a perpetual decree for him andhis descendants for all their generations to come.'
22 Il Signore parlò a Mosè:	22 Yahweh spoke further to Moses and said,
23 «Procùrati balsami pregiati: mirra vergine per il peso di cinquecento sicli; cinnamòmo profumato, la metà, cioè duecentocinquanta sicli; canna aromatica, duecentocinquanta;	23 'Take the finest spices: five hundred shekels of fresh myrrh, half as much (two hundred and fiftyshekels) of fragrant cinnamon, two hundred and fifty shekels of scented reed,
24 cassia, cinquecento sicli, conformi al siclo del santuario; e un hin d’olio d’oliva.	24 five hundred shekels (reckoning by the sanctuary shekel) of cassia, and one hin of olive oil.
25 Ne farai l’olio per l’unzione sacra, un unguento composto secondo l’arte del profumiere: sarà l’olio per l’unzione sacra.	25 You wil make this into a holy anointing oil, such a blend as the perfumer might make; this wil be aholy anointing oil.
26 Con esso ungerai la tenda del convegno, l’arca della Testimonianza,	26 With it you wil anoint the Tent of Meeting and the ark of the Testimony,
27 la tavola e tutti i suoi accessori, il candelabro con i suoi accessori, l’altare dell’incenso,	27 the table and al its accessories, the lamp-stand and its accessories, the altar of incense,
28 l’altare degli olocausti e tutti i suoi accessori, il bacino con il suo piedistallo.	28 the altar of burnt offerings and al its accessories, and the basin with its stand,
29 Consacrerai queste cose, che diventeranno santissime: tutto quello che verrà a contatto con esse sarà santo.	29 consecrating them, so that they wil be especial y holy and whatever touches them wil become holy.
30 Ungerai anche Aronne e i suoi figli e li consacrerai, perché esercitino il mio sacerdozio.	30 You wil also anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them to be priests in my service.
31 Agli Israeliti dirai: “Questo sarà per me l’olio dell’unzione sacra, di generazione in generazione.	31 You wil then speak to the Israelites and say, "This anointing oil wil be holy for you for al yourgenerations to come.
32 Non si dovrà versare sul corpo di nessun uomo e di simile a questo non ne dovrete fare: è una cosa santa e santa la dovrete ritenere.	32 It must not be used for anointing the human body, nor may you make any of the same mixture. It is aholy thing; you wil regard it as holy.
33 Chi ne farà di simile a questo o ne porrà sopra un uomo estraneo, sia eliminato dal suo popolo”».	33 Anyone who makes up the same oil or uses it on an unauthorised person wil be outlawed from hispeople." '
34 Il Signore disse a Mosè: «Procùrati balsami: storace, ònice, gàlbano e incenso puro: il tutto in parti uguali.	34 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Take sweet spices: storax, onycha, galbanum, sweet spices and purefrankincense in equal parts,
35 Farai con essi un profumo da bruciare, una composizione aromatica secondo l’arte del profumiere, salata, pura e santa.	35 and compound an incense, such a blend as the perfumer might make, salted, pure, and holy.
36 Ne pesterai un poco riducendola in polvere minuta e ne metterai davanti alla Testimonianza, nella tenda del convegno, dove io ti darò convegno. Cosa santissima sarà da voi ritenuta.	36 You wil grind some of this up very fine and put it in front of the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting,where I shal meet you. You wil regard it as especial y holy.
37 Non farete per vostro uso alcun profumo di composizione simile a quello che devi fare: lo riterrai una cosa santa in onore del Signore.	37 You may not make any incense of similar composition for your own use. You wil regard it as holy,reserved for Yahweh Anyone who makes up the same thing to use as perfume will be outlawed from his people.'
38 Chi ne farà di simile, per sentirne il profumo, sia eliminato dal suo popolo».
