1 Facies et altare de lignis acaciae, quod habebit quinque cubitos in longitudine et totidem in latitudine, id est quadrum, et tres cubitos in altitudine.1 'You will make the altar of acacia wood, five cubits long and five cubits wide; the altar wil be squareand three cubits high.
2 Cornua autem per quattuor angulos ex ipso erunt, et operies illud aere.2 At its four corners you wil make horns, the horns must be of a piece with it, and you wil overlay it withbronze.
3 Faciesque in usus eius lebetes ad suscipiendos cineres et vatilla et pateras atque fuscinulas et ignium receptacula; omnia vasa ex aere fabricabis.3 And for it you will make pans for taking away the fatty ashes, and shovels, sprinkling basins, hooksand fire pans; you wil make al the altar accessories of bronze.
4 Craticulamque facies ei in modum retis aeneam, per cuius quattuor angulos erunt quattuor anuli aenei,4 You will also make a grating for it of bronze network, and on the four corners of the grating you wilmake four bronze rings.
5 et pones eam subter marginem altaris; eritque craticula usque ad altaris medium.5 You will put it below the ledge of the altar, underneath, so that it comes halfway up the altar.
6 Facies et vectes altaris de lignis acaciae duos, quos operies laminis aeneis,6 You will make shafts for the altar, shafts of acacia wood and overlay them with bronze.
7 et induces per anulos; eruntque ex utroque latere altaris ad portandum.7 The shafts wil be passed through the rings in such a way that the shafts are on either side of the altar,for carrying it.
8 Cavum ex tabulis facies illud; sicut tibi in monte monstratum est, sic facient.
8 You will make the altar hol ow, out of boards; you wil make it as you were shown on the mountain.
9 Facies et atrium habitaculi, in cuius plaga australi contra meridiem erunt tentoria de bysso retorta: centum cubitos unum latus tenebit in longitudine9 'Then you will make the court of the Dwelling. On the south side, the curtaining of the court must be offinely woven linen, one hundred cubits long (for the first side),
10 et columnas viginti et bases totidem aeneas et uncos columnarum anulosque earum argenteos.10 its twenty poles and their twenty sockets being of bronze, and the poles' hooks and rods of silver.
11 Similiter in latere aquilonis: per longum erunt tentoria centum cubitorum, columnae viginti et bases aeneae eiusdem numeri et unci columnarum anulique earum argentei.11 So too for the north side, there must be a hundred cubits of curtaining, its twenty poles and theirtwenty sockets being of bronze, and the poles' hooks and rods of silver.
12 In latitudine vero atrii, quae respicit ad occidentem, erunt tentoria per quinquaginta cubitos et columnae decem basesque totidem.12 Across the width of the court, on the west side, there must be fifty cubits of curtaining, with its tenpoles and their ten sockets.
13 In ea quoque atrii latitudine, quae respicit ad orientem, quinquaginta cubiti erunt,13 The width of the court on the east side, facing the sunrise, must be fifty cubits,
14 in quibus quindecim cubitorum tentoria lateri uno deputabuntur columnaeque tres et bases totidem;14 with fifteen cubits of curtaining on one side of the entrance, with its three poles and their threesockets,
15 et in latere altero erunt tentoria, cubitos obtinentia quindecim, columnae tres et bases totidem.15 and on the other side of the entrance, fifteen cubits of curtaining, with its three poles and their threesockets;
16 In introitu vero atrii fiet velum cubitorum viginti, ex hyacintho et purpura coccoque et bysso retorta opere plumarii; columnas habebit quattuor cum basibus totidem.16 and for the gateway to the court there must be a twenty-cubit screen of finely woven linenembroidered with violet-purple, red-purple and crimson, with its four poles and their four sockets.
17 Omnes columnae atrii per circuitum cinctae erunt anulis argenteis, et unci earum erunt argentei et bases aeneae.17 Al the poles round the court must be connected by silver rods; their hooks must be of silver and theirsockets of bronze.
18 In longitudine occupabit atrium cubitos centum, in latitudine quinquaginta, altitudo quinque cubitorum erit; fietque de bysso retorta, et habebit bases aeneas.18 The length of the court must be one hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits and its height five cubits. Althe curtaining must be made of finely woven linen, and their sockets of bronze.
19 Cuncta vasa habitaculi in omnes usus eius et omnes paxillos eius et omnes paxillos atrii ex aere facies.
19 Al the accessories for general use in the Dwel ing, al its pegs and al the pegs of the court, must beof bronze.
20 Praecipe filiis Israel, ut afferant tibi oleum de arboribus olivarum purissimum piloque contusum, ut ardeat lucerna semper20 'You wil order the Israelites to bring you pure pounded olive oil for the light, and to keep a lampburning al the time.
21 in tabernaculo conventus, extra velum, quod oppansum est testimonio. Et parabunt eam Aaron et filii eius, ut a vespere usque mane luceat coram Domino. Perpetuus erit cultus per successiones eorum a filiis Israel.
21 Aaron and his sons wil tend it in the Tent of Meeting, outside the curtain hanging in front of theTestimony, from dusk to dawn, before Yahweh. This is a perpetual decree for al generations of Israelites.'
