1 parole di Amos, che fu dei pastori di Tecue, che furono a lui rivelate relativamente a Israele, al tempo di Ozia, re di Giuda, e al tempo di Geroboamo figlio di Ioas, re d'Israele, due anni prima del terremoto.	1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdman of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2 E disse: « Il Signore ruggirà da Sion, da Gerusalemme farà sentire la sua voce: e saranno in lutto le più belle pasture e sarà secca la sommità del Carmelo.	2 And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
3 Così parla il Signore: « A causa delle tre scelleraggini di Damasco, anzi delle quattro, non lo revocherò, (il decreto), perchè essi han tribbiato Galaad sotto i carri di ferro.	3 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:
4 Ma io metterò il fuoco alla casa di Azael e (il fuoco) divorerà le case di Benadad.	4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
5 Io spezzerò le sbarre di Damasco, sterminerò gli abitanti della campagna dell'idolo e, dalla casa della voluttà chi tiene lo scettro della Siria sarà deportato a Cirene, dice il Signore ».	5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
6 Cosi parla il Signore: « A causa delle tre sceleraggini di Gaza, anzi delle quattro, non lo revocherò (il decreto), perchè han condotta schiava tutta la gente, per rinchiuderla nell'Idumea.	6 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:
7 La io metterò il fuoco nelle mura di Gaza, e (il fuoco) ridurrà in cenete i suoi palazzi.	7 But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:
8 E sterminerò gli abitanti d'Azoto, e da Ascalona chi tiene lo scettro, e moverò la mia mano contro Accaron, e periranno gli avanzi dei Filistei, dice il Signore ».	8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.
9 Così parla il Signore: « A causa delle tre scel.eraggini di Tiro, anzi delle quattro, non lo revocherò (il decreto), perchè tuttala gente fatta schiava l'hanno rinchiusa in Idumea, e non si son ricordati dell'alleanza dei fratelli.	9 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
10 Contro le mura di Tiro io manderò il fuoco che divorerà i suoi palazzi ».	10 But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.
11 Così parla il Signore: « A causa delle tre scelleraggini di Edom, anzi delle quattro, non lo revocherò (il decreto), perchè egli hà perseguitato colla spada il suo fratello, non ha avuta verso di lui la dovuta compassione, ha tenuto oltre i limiti il suo furore, ed ha conservata fino alla fine la sua indignazione.	11 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
12 Io manderò il fuoco in Teman, e ridurrà in cenere i palazzi di Bosra ».	12 But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
13 Cosi parla il Signore: «A causa delle tre scelleraggini dei figli di Ammon, anzi delle quattro, non lo revocherò (il decreto), perchè essi hanno sventrato le donne incinte di Galaad, per allargare i loro confini.	13 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
14 E metterò il fuoco nelle mura di Rabba, e (il fuoco) divorerà i suoi palazzi, tra gli urli nel giorno della battaglia, in mezzo al turbine nel giorno dello sconvolgimento.	14 But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
15 E Melcom andrà in schiavitù, egli e i suoi principi con lui — dice il Signore ».	15 And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.
